Hearing the attendant's words, a frown appeared on my face.
"Does that mean I won't be able to register?"
I asked while looking at the attendant. Hearing my words, the attendant shook her head to the side, denying my question.
"No, we normally give a rank to adventurers based on their registration and the measuring test. In this case, your companions are able to start at rank D, which is the highest rank we can give to new adventurers"
she said. After saying this, the attendant lowered her gaze slightly before turning to me again. After hearing everything she told me, I could already imagine what her next words would be.
"So... since we can't measure your magical ability, we can't give you a rank higher than F"
Just as I expected, I couldn't start at a higher rank. But overall, I didn't really care about that. My initial goal is to make money, so the rank I start at won't really change that, since I will still be able to take guild orders anyway.
"There's no way"
I said as I sighed.
"You can put me at Rank F anyway, I will be able to move up in rank as I accept quests, won't I?"
Hearing my question, the attendant put a smile on her face and replied.
"If that's it, then you don't have to worry. You will be able to move up your rank normally"
As soon as the attendant said this, she seemed to remember something and quickly turned to me again.
"Ah, if you want to be measured again with more precision, I recommend that you go to the guild in the capital of Arclight. Their measuring orb is infinitely more advanced than ours"
Said the attendant with a gentle smile on her face. Hearing her words, I nodded.
"Alright, when I get the chance, I will do that"
I said while looking at the attendant. Anyway, my goal was already to go to the capital of Arclight to get more information about this world.

"All right, then I will print your guild cards. Please wait a moment"
Said the attendant as she picked up our records and took them to a fancy-looking machine. As soon as she placed one of the papers on one side of the machine, a light shone on the machine, and within seconds, a silver card came out the other side. On it was contained the rank D along with Saemi's name. After that, she did this with all the other records, and soon there were 5 cards in the attendant's hand.
"Here they are"
Said the attendant as she placed the cards on top of the counter. As soon as I picked up my card, I took a look at it. It looked like a silver credit card, although it is a bit bigger than a regular credit card. After reviewing the card, I turned my gaze back to the attendant.
"Can we take assignments now?"
I asked as I looked at the attendant, hearing my question, the attendant smiled and pointed to the bulletin board.
"Sure, just take the order you want to accept and bring it to the counter"
She said. Hearing her words, I nodded, and soon the girls and I moved to the counter. As soon as we got there, there were several pieces of papers with some drawings in the middle. Underneath, there was a small description of what the mission was, and there was also a Rank.
From what I could see on the board, the hardest mission that existed here was a Rank C. Apparently, it was a mission to hunt a Wyvern that was preying on the cattle of a village. After carefully examining the mission board, I decided to choose a mission that was between Rank F and Rank D.
With this in mind, I chose a Rank E mission to hunt Goblins. I decided on this mission because among the other available missions, this one had the highest reward. As soon as I took the paper from the mission board, I walked again to the attendant. Placing the paper on the counter, the attendant checked it for a few seconds before turning her gaze to me again.
"Your order is registered; please take care"
Said the attendant with a soft smile on her face. After that, she went to the machine again with the order paper and made a copy. Although I didn't understand the reason for this, probably one paper would stay with me and another would stay with her.
As soon as I got my paper, I turned around and started walking to the outside of the adventurers' guild. My goal now was to make some money since, although we had a place and food for a week, at the end of the day, we were still totally out of money.
As I walked to the door, the adventurers were looking at us. I really wasn't interested in that at the moment, so I just ignored their stares. Luckily, no one stopped us or tried to talk to us, so we were able to easily leave the guild. Looking up at the sky, I noticed the sun was still very high, showing that it was only a short time until it reached noon.
From what I observed, this world didn't have something like clocks, so that was the only way I could know the time. Looking around, I saw several people walking back and forth while doing their daily chores.
"Let's go"
I said as I turned to the girls, receiving a nod from all of them. After that, we walked to the gate again where we would leave and go straight to the forest. This would be our first day as real adventurers in another world. I couldn't say that I wasn't a bit excited about it, but it also made me think about how Shinji and the others were doing.
"Well, Shinji got the blessing from Aurora-sama's sister, so they must be managing somehow"
I thought as I walked away from the guild.
