Chapter 112 - Sylvia's thoughts

After reuniting with Glasy, the journey continued smoothly. I briefly explained to Adya and her companions what they needed to know about Glasy, and although they were still a bit hesitant, they eventually accepted it in the end. Of course, they were all surprised when Glasy shrank to the size of a normal wolf, although still a bit larger than usual.

We continued our journey on the road for a few days, following the routine of walking during the day and resting at night. Though we sensed the presence of some monsters around, most of them didn't come close, and those who tried ended up dead due to the group's abilities. This routine continued until we finally arrived at the kingdom of Arclight.

Even though the city of Guinovam, where we stayed for some time, was relatively large, it didn't compare to the kingdom of Arclight. It felt like a country bumpkin entering a big city for the first time. When we finally reached the massive gates, we presented our guild cards, while the carriage owner showed another card, which I presumed was from his company or something. We passed without any problems and were officially inside Arclight.

"I really appreciate you all for the safe journey. The few monsters we encountered were quickly taken care of by you guys. I promise I'll speak highly of you to my companions"

Said the carriage owner, expressing his gratitude for our escort work. We simply thanked him and bid farewell. His carriage departed, and soon we couldn't see it anymore, as it blended into the crowd bustling through the city, each occupied with their own tasks and errands.

"Now that we've finished the escort, let's head straight to the adventurers' guild. We need to finalize our request to claim the rewards"

Said Adya with a smile on her face, and after her words, we began walking towards the guild. However, something puzzled me. Initially, I found it strange that the man didn't come with us to the guild to verify that we completed the request. All he gave us was a Token, saying that when the guild leaders saw it, they would know we finished the mission. This approach really made me curious because it could leave room for lies about completing the mission. But my doubts were cleared when Aurora-sama gave me an answer. As we walked, Aurora-sama's voice echoed in my mind.

"Most traders have a contract with Cloris, and the Token you possess is something only their contractors can create. Of course, if the contractor dies, the Token will instantly disappear. Basically, it's impossible to create a fake Token. Moreover, they emit divine energy, making them impossible to manipulate"

Explained Aurora-sama in my mind, clarifying the matter about the Token we received. Hearing her words made me reflect on the diversity of gods and their unique abilities.

In a quite long hallway, a woman with brown hair and black eyes walked with dignified and confident steps. She covered a certain distance until she reached a place that resembled a garden, where various flowers surrounded the area, giving it a charming beauty. Under the shade of a tree, a chair and a table were arranged, and on the table, there was a glass delicately placed on a small plate. A little further ahead, right in the center of the table, there was a small tower with plates containing different types of candies and treats, invitingly and appetizingly arranged.

Seated in the chair was a lovely young woman with golden hair and eyes, and her delicately sculpted face gave her a noble and elegant appearance. As she looked at a small book in her hands, her posture and presence exuded grace and confidence, traits worthy of someone of royal blood. It was evident that this person was one of the princesses of the Kingdom of Arclight, the youngest among them. Her presence there, amidst that tranquil and enchanting environment, complemented the noble atmosphere of the place. It was as if royalty itself was imbued in that garden.

Looking at the seated young woman, the maid could only feel deep admiration and loyalty. With gentle steps, she approached the young woman and made a slight bow as a sign of respect, while her words flowed with kindness and courtesy.

"Sylvia-sama, I received information that a certain group of adventurers returned to the kingdom today at dawn"

Said the maid, maintaining her respectful posture while conveying the news to the young princess. Hearing her servant's words, Sylvia raised an eyebrow in doubt. She couldn't understand why her trusted maid came there just to inform her about some adventurers' return. This made her wonder if there was some special reason behind this information. Perhaps these adventurers had some relevance or notoriety that justified the attention of the maid and the need to report the event to the princess.

"Rena, what's so special about this group of adventurers that you found it necessary to report to me?"

Sylvia asked, closing her book and focusing her full attention on the maid. Upon hearing Rena's words, she promptly began to recount the rest of the information.

"Apparently, one of the guards said that one of the men in the group has black hair. Moreover, there were other women with him: one with golden hair, another with pink hair, and one more with black hair"

Rena continued to report the information she obtained to the princess. Listening attentively to her maid's words, Sylvia started pondering about these new discoveries in her mind. Although she wasn't a hundred percent sure, she had strong suspicions that the group of adventurers was indeed composed of the people who saved her in the past.

Sylvia knew that these four individuals possessed extremely powerful abilities, perhaps even comparable to dragons and elves, or even more powerful. Despite feeling a burden on her conscience, Sylvia found herself in a difficult position and made a decision.

She decided to seek the help of these powerful adventurers, even if it meant temporarily breaking the trust of her benefactors from the past. Inside, she felt guilty, of course. The princess intended to sincerely apologize to them later and repay everything they had done for her.
