As soon as I looked up, what appeared in my field of vision were several spiders with fully crystallized glass. All of them had turned into statues made of ice. None of the spiders could have survived this attack, but something even more impressive had happened. Looking around, I saw that both the trees and the plants had become ice sculptures. I had literally changed the landscape, and to tell the truth, it was quite cold. Looking down, it was still possible to see a remnant of something like fog emanating from my body.
(I didn't expect it to be that strong)
I thought with slightly wide eyes as I looked at the scene I had caused.
(I must be careful when using this ability in the future. I don't know yet if it will affect my allies)
I thought as I sighed. Looking again at the spiders, I held out my hand to them as I activated my ability. Even though I know that consuming more spiders wouldn't give me more abilities or enhance the ones I already have, evolving neither, and as if there are no benefits. As far as I know, the more monsters I consume, the more my physical strength increases, so there is no reason why I shouldn't consume all the spiders. As soon as the whole process was over, a voice echoed in my head.
CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE ACQUIRED THE SKILL (STEEL WIRE)
Hearing the name of the skill, I instinctively knew the new power I had acquired. With a smile on my face, I started walking through the forest trying to find something. As I walked, I was hardly finding any monsters. For me, this was honestly something of a relief. I really didn't want to be running into monsters all the time. While walking, I suddenly started to notice that the ground that was entirely made of earth was beginning to mix with stones. Moving on, I came to a place that seemed to be a cave. Looking around, I found nothing that would indicate what dangers were inside the cave or possibly who had created the cave.
"Aurora-sama, are you seeing this?"
I asked. Since I didn't know what exactly was going on, I decided to turn to the person who could possibly know what was happening. Within seconds, a voice echoed in my head.
"Oh, looks like you found a dungeon"
Said Aurora-sama, sounding more shocked than surprised. Hearing her words, a frown made itself present on my face.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
"Dungeon? Like the ones in video games?"
I asked, confused. I knew what dungeons were, as they were quite common in adventure games. But when you encounter one in real life, the feeling is a bit strange, as if it feels like you are inside some kind of game.
"It's probably quite similar to the ones you're thinking of”
Said Aurora-sama, seeming to read my thoughts, or rather, she really can read them.
"Do all the floors have something similar?"
I was interested in the subject—I mean, dungeons. Usually, these places have treasures.
"Yes, to be more precise, the number of floors in dungeons is determined by the floor you are on. Since you are currently on floor 4, that means this dungeon has 4 floors"
Aurora-sama said. Hearing Aurora-sama's confirmation made me wonder if I should bring the others with me or not. Looking at the sky, the day was still quite clear.
(Although I don't know exactly what the structure will look like, it will probably be something like a labyrinth, isn't it?)
With that thought in mind, I decided to enter the cave. It's not like I'm weak, plus I can probably move more freely without the girls with me. With this thought in mind, I entered the cave with some caution. With a flame in my hand, I started to venture in. The flame was my only source of light; the walls seemed to be made of stone, indicating that the whole place would probably be similar. After a few minutes of walking, I heard footsteps coming from in front of me. Waiting to see what emerged from the shadows, I was relieved to see that it was only goblins. I quickly dispatched the goblins and moved on again.
I didn't know exactly what I was waiting for. All I could do was keep walking in a straight line, trying to find something. I spent a few more minutes walking until more goblins appeared. Since they were extremely weak monsters, I didn't have to exert much effort to defeat them. Soon, I had reached a set of stairs that led down. Without a second thought, I started walking down until I reached another straight corridor. I was not impressed, as this was something I had been expecting.
As I walked, I started to hear a sound. Although it was coming from in front of me, the sound seemed to come from the ceiling. As I continued walking, I tried to focus my vision on the ceiling. In a few seconds, I was faced with a huge monster with red eyes looking up at me. It had its feet stuck to the ceiling. Looking at that monster, I easily recognized it as a bat, but it was extremely larger than ordinary bats—almost the size of a human.
As soon as it noticed me, the bat unfolded its wings, revealing its mouth along with its two fangs. Opening its mouth, a huge scream echoed from the bat, throwing me backwards. Besides throwing me backwards, the scream left me bewildered due to the loud noise it produced.
"Ugh"
I grunted in pain, pointing one of my arms at the bat while activating my newly acquired skill.
"Steel... wire"
I said. As soon as I said this, the bat began to be surrounded by white threads that initially came out through a small hole in my hand. Within seconds, the bat was completely immobilized as it tried to struggle. Unfortunately for it, these wires were as hard as steel. Seeing the bat trying to get free regardless, while my ears were still ringing, I pulled out one of the wires. Soon, the bat's body fell to the ground in slices.
