After that fight, my next opponents started entering one by one. All of them possessed a quite noticeable physical strength, along with an impressive speed. Overall, the fights were quite random. While some enemies were quite strong, others were notably weak. There was a considerable variation, alternating between extremely strong opponents and considerably weaker ones.
Although rare, there were also times when I faced a sequence of two strong enemies. Honestly, I didn't even know how long it had been since I started fighting. However, the sun setting on the horizon clearly showed that it was getting quite late. Even at this hour, the coliseum was still lively, with various voices echoing through the venue.
Leona maintained her serious expression while observing all the fights. There were moments when I really wondered if that was the Leona I knew because she seemed quite different. Moreover, didn't she get tired of standing in the same place for hours doing nothing? Well, it's not like I could say anything anyway.
After all these fights, my next opponent just stepped into the ring. It was the guy who warned me earlier that this place was not for weak people. As always, his physique was impressive, probably twice my size, maybe even more. His gaze as he stared at me showed interest.
"I've been following your fights; you're truly impressive. I didn't imagine that such a slender body could display so much strength"
While I was lost in my thoughts, the bear-man spoke suddenly, capturing my attention. Well, compared to him, maybe I could be considered slim, but, to be honest, my body was average in my old world—neither too fat nor too thin. Also, since I arrived in this world, my physique had become visibly more muscular, although not excessively.
"Thanks for the compliments"
Upon hearing my words, the bear-man let out a thunderous laugh. I raised an eyebrow, watching him with curiosity because honestly, there was nothing particularly funny about what I said.
"It seems you'll be an interesting challenger; however, I regret to inform you that your strength will not have an effect, at least not against me"
Once again, I raised an eyebrow. I wasn't sure if he was serious or just being overly confident. Either way, I decided to keep attacking as I did until now. As soon as the voice gave the signal, I swiftly moved out of my position, and in the blink of an eye, I was in front of the bear-man.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
Interestingly, his eyes almost instantly shifted to where I was. I wasn't sure, but it seemed like his eyes could keep up with my speed, which definitely wasn't normal, considering that none of my other opponents had been able to do the same.
Despite all the doubts swirling in my mind, I advanced with my fist toward his stomach. However, as soon as I hit him, an intense pain shot through my hand, causing an instant shiver throughout my body. With a surprised expression on my face, I looked up at him, who was smiling while staring at me.
While a smile remained on his face, one of his hands clenched. I foresaw an imminent attack, and considering that my previous punch didn't even bother him, I knew that a blow from him could result in serious injuries for me. But in the position I was in, it was unlikely that I could retreat.
However, even so, there was something I could do. Just before his fist descended toward me, I passed under his legs, positioning myself behind him. Once again, I delivered another blow, but like the previous one, this also had no effect whatsoever.
As my confusion increased in the face of the situation, the ground suddenly began to tremble. He had stepped so forcefully that it generated a mini earthquake, and the most impressive thing was that this phenomenon was restricted only to the ring.
Although the earthquake didn't cause direct harm to me, it provided enough time for my opponent to act while I struggled to maintain balance on the unstable ground. A powerful blow hit my stomach, almost inducing vomiting. Aware that another attack was approaching, I leaned my head back, watching the man's fist pass before my eyes.
With one hand on my stomach, I stepped back as I observed the man. His smile persisted, and his body revealed incredible resilience. Every blow I dealt to him felt like I was hitting some kind of metal, but even with this resistance, it's unlikely that his entire body is uniformly invulnerable. There must be some less resistant point that I can exploit.
With this strategy in mind, I invested several times, targeting specific areas in the hope of finding some less resistant point that would at least make him recoil. Each of my blows seemed to have some effect in a specific area, his head, more precisely the brain.
Although still resistant, constant blows in that location left him in a state of confusion. Honestly, I doubted that I could defeat him without using magic, but that didn't mean there wasn't a strategy to win.
To be honest, this was a more common weak point than it seemed. I mean, that's where the brain is housed, so it would be strange if his brain were as hard as the rest of his body. Anyway, I already had a basis to focus on.
After that, I continued to strike in that location while dodging his attacks. In a way, I was on the defensive while he maintained the offensive. Gradually, I managed to push him out of the ring, and the smile on his face had disappeared some time ago.
As we reached the edge of the ring, he glanced back and then turned his gaze to me. A stamped smile appeared on his face as he stared at me.
"I'm impressed, it's the first time I've seen myself so cornered. Your strength is clearly insufficient to defeat me, so you're trying to throw me out of the ring in the hope of disqualifying me?"
Moreover, it seemed that he had realized my entire plan.
