Chapter 47 - It is necessary to cut the evil by the root

The next day, I went back to the first floor early since it would be bad if anyone missed me, although I really can't see that happening. At breakfast, everyone was eating in silence, many still seemed shaken by what had happened yesterday.

(I really can't blame them; some of their friends died yesterday. They are probably wondering when it's their turn.)

I thought as I looked around. As I looked, my eyes stopped on a certain scene. Ramon-sensei and Aoi-sensei were talking. As usual, Aoi-sensei had a face that showed she was quite annoyed by this. While watching, I saw something that made my blood boil. While Aoi-sensei was distracted, Ramon-sensei raised his hand and placed it on top of Aoi-sensei's thigh. The moment I saw that, everything around me went blurry. All I could see at that very moment was Ramon-sensei's perverted smiling face and Aoi-sensei's disgusted expression.

Before I could realize that something was happening, suddenly everyone started to stand up while looking around with tense expressions on their faces. As soon as I noticed this, I realized that I had activated my intimidation skill without realizing it. I managed to turn it off quickly enough that no one noticed that I was the one giving them that strange feeling of discomfort and fear. Glancing around, I noticed Saemi and Fujiwara looking at me. They were probably suspicious that it was me who made everyone feel that way.

(You two needn't worry, and I did see something that made me a little angry, but I'm already back to normal again.)

I said telepathically to both Fujiwara and Saemi. Hearing my words, Saemi looked at Fujiwara, who looked at her with a smile on her face.

(It's a pleasure to be part of the secret club of you two.)

Fujiwara said with a smile on her face. After this little revelation, Saemi did not do anything specific or change her behavior, but sometimes she kept looking between me and Fujiwara. Anyway, thanks to a slip of the tongue, my powers were almost discovered.

(I don't think I'll be able to hold on in case something like this happens again, so in order for me not to be discovered, I'll have to nip it in the bud.)

I thought as I looked at Ramon-sensei with a serious expression on my face. After this incident, I started to watch Ramon-sensei a lot more, and the more I watched him, the surer I was that he would try to do something with Aoi-sensei. When night fell, the only sound that was visible was the wind rustling the leaves on the trees. I wasn't sure what time it was, but if I had to guess, I would say it was around midnight and one o'clock in the morning.

At this point, I was on a branch up in a tree. I decided to sleep up here because my field of vision was much wider than down there. This had also helped me see any suspicious movements in Ramon-sensei's tent. As I looked around from above the tree, I saw Aoi-sensei come out of her tent and start walking towards the lake.

(Is she thirsty?)

thought as I looked at Aoi-sensei, as I looked at her, I noticed a suspicious movement coming from a bush. As Aoi-sensei walked towards the lake, the bush moved seemingly following her.

(A monster... or could it be...)

I thought as I looked at that bizarre scene, with that thought in mind, along with a bad feeling, I decided to follow Aoi-sensei.

Using my ability to manipulate shadows, I started swinging between the trees while following Aoi-sensei and the bush. After spending a few minutes following both of them, we finally arrived at the lake. Aoi-sensei walked slowly to the lake, crouched down, took some water with her hand, and drank.

(So, she really came to drink water.)

I thought as I looked at the scene, alternating my gaze to the suspicious bush. It was finally possible to see a shape among the bushes. The shape was clearly human, and I easily recognized the person who was sneaking among the bushes. The person slowly started walking towards Aoi-sensei, taking slow and silent steps. At that point, my gaze was already extremely deadly as I looked at the person.

With a dry feeling in her throat, Aoi Yamazaki woke up in the middle of the night with a desire to drink water. As soon as she got up and left her tent, she looked up at the sky and saw the beautiful starry sky, making a smile open on her face. Feeling happy, Aoi walked slowly towards the lake to drink water. Aoi Yamazaki had always hated inequality and bullying. Even though she came from a wealthy family, she decided to become a teacher with the goal of teaching younger children that mistreating others leads to nothing.

And that was exactly why she could not forgive Shinji Sato. Aoi always knew that Shinji was not a good person. He despised the weak and bullied them at will, and his most frequent victim was a boy named Makoto Tatsuya. Even though he lost his parents early on, he didn't give up and continued studying and working hard to fulfill his parents' last wish. Because she thought of him as a younger brother, Aoi would protect him in this dangerous world they were in now. She needed to and would do whatever it took to make that happen.

With these thoughts entering her mind, a beautiful crystal-clear lake entered Aoi's field of vision. Feeling refreshed by the beautiful sight in front of her, Aoi began to drink the water without noticing that someone was slowly approaching her with small, silent steps. When she least expected it, Aoi was rudely grabbed and thrown to the ground as she tried to understand what was happening.

In front of her, there was a man she knew very well, but he was different than usual. He was drooling as he looked at her, and his eyes seemed unfocused, as if they saw something that was not there. With this sight in front of her, for the first time, Aoi felt fear. Her body began to tremble strongly, and her words would not come out. Her body was paralyzed. At that moment, a thought crossed her mind - a conversation she had days ago with her younger brother. He had said he would save her if she called his name, no matter where she was. With that in mind, she clung to that small wish, closing her tear-wet eyes.

(Makoto)

As soon as she said that name in her mind, a voice echoed through the place.

"Looks like I need to nip this evil in the bud once and for all"

Said an extremely cold voice echoing through the darkness of the forest.
