Chapter 43.

Chapter 43.

"I sent the script of Lucifer for a distribution company which is related to LeoTv," Ian said while they were discussing the future of Renner Studios.

"Hmm... Good, I heard they don't accept direct requests, but just through distributors or aggregators who are already working with them, or connected somehow,"

"Yeah, But don't worry, we will get there soon enough. Who wouldn't want to work with Ian Renner now?" Ian said and smirked.

OTT service providers negotiate with content creators the rights to show their content. What really happens is that they negotiate with some entity that already has the rights for the content, i.e. studios, premium cable channels, etc. LeoTv is the current most popular OTT in the US.

"Yeah, Home Alone did make our jobs so much easier, and I'm glad and so proud of you every time I think about it," Mason said and smiled.

Talking about emotions and sharing them was never normal to them, but in times like these, for good old uncles like Mason, the feelings spoke for themselves.

"Haha, yes, and thank you, uncle. I'm waiting for a response from the distribution company, but they already invited me for a meeting tomorrow. I'll go and see," Ian said. "And… I was thinking about getting our own platform by next year,"

"I think it's too soon, Ian. The studio just started doing fine. I don't want to mess it up, or take any regrettable risks," Mason was honest with his opinions.

"Yeah, I get it. But I think the studio itself should first get stronger, then branch out. I want to have a share in the OTT space, and we are already late. More than that, if we want Renner studio to get its publicity, OTT is the best way and the only way," Ian said.

"Yeah, I understand, Ian." Mason said.

"Yeah, but it is just a plan. I currently want to focus on creating stories and great franchises. But I will think more about OTT, it is one of my destinations and goals to achieve," Ian said with a smile.

The plans of Ian were way broader than anyone could ever think in the market of Hollywood. With his memory library, he was thinking of revealing any and every movie or series that can shake the world of Hollywood in his world. As mentioned several times, the genius image he was looking for won't build itself unless he shows the gems he has to the world.

With that being said, the market of TV series was something too big for him to ignore. His memory library provided him with too many resources for him to not try something huge. But especially, Ian didn't want any other studio to get the advantage of the things he is fully capable of making good use of.

It was also a matter of time, and Ian had so many plans.

-

Zero MediaWorks was a big studio that basically was in the top 4 in Hollywood. They are famous as a studio that started from scratch and climbed its way to the peak with so many struggling in the industry. But after all the trouble they had faced, now they are doing comparatively well, which also is the reason why they are at the top of the industry.

"Out of these movies, who would you think might be challenging?" The tall guy with a huge beard asked in curiosity.

The marketing team of the studio is always very concerned about who their competitors for the season would be, and why. Currently 'The Killer', and 'My Clue' were the ones they were talking about.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

The Killer was a sci-fi, done by a slightly known Studio. A studio who were neither high nor low in the industry.

"The Killer won't hit it right, I guess. The sci-fi is too much for their studio, last time it was a comedy, it slightly earned a bit more due to how good the actors were. Uh-huh, what do we think about 'My Clue?" The person who sat across the taller one asked.

"My Clue… It's hard to say because the studio has been releasing so many high school comedies. I wonder what the director thinks, or maybe they just want to establish a name for it," The blonde continued further.

They all laughed hearing this. As a director, if they are capable the main goal they aim for is to explore new genres which can give them a thrill and also for their fans. But with how things were going for them, the director won't survive after two more High School comedies.

"Let's talk about ours, shall we? The 13th Street,"

"A horror movie, ready to be released on the same day as La La Land." The tall man said.

The movies they were talking about are to be released in April. 'The Killer' which is a sci-fi movie, 'My Clue' a high school comedy, 'The 13th Street' which is a horror, and Ian's La La Land were the movies that they shifted their attention to.

"Thinking about it, our movie and La La Land would be released on the same day in April, right?" The tall guy asked while everyone nodded. "Should we push back a bit?" He asked further while all of them started looking at each other and started thinking.

"Why?!" The old man who was silent the whole time stood up with a loud noise and looked straight into his eyes.

William was a slightly hot-headed man for his age. He was a director who is working with them and has been one of the founding members of Zero MediaWorks and now trying to make it to the top by surpassing every other competitor. William was now in his late 40s yet still trying harder than ever.

After seeing his own marketing team is not so confident about the movie that they will be releasing, his blood boiled in jealousy and then built slight insecurity.

"Why do y'all even think that 'The 13th Street' won't work? It can, and it will! I am 120% sure and confident in the movie I worked on, I see no reason why y'all shouldn't. I mean, you guys witnessed yourselves how our previous movie did!" He said furiously and kept looking at them expecting an answer.

Since it was not the first time his anger got the best of him, they were not even slightly surprised.

"It is not that we aren't confident, have you ever heard of director Ian Renner?" The tall man asked while taking the paper into his hand.

"Yes, the young director, I'm well aware who did La La Land, so what?" William asked.

"His previous hit Home Alone came out of nowhere and became a huge hit. It has been years since someone has been capable of creating that much change in the history of Hollywood. We get it, and we are confident in your work, William. It's just, pushing back the dates would benefit us in a way, and you know it." The blonde explained word by word clearly.

"Yeah, I understand, but we can't push the dates," William shook his head in denial.

"The attention of the entire day, or even prior to it, would go to Renner Studios. There's no doubt about that. La La Land has more momentum than us in the industry, and it is not because our movie is bad. It is because of who the director is. I'm actually quite skeptical when I come to think about it," The short person who sat across from the taller one said while writing some stuff on the paper in front of him.

That was nothing weird yet nothing normal. The entire crew knew that he was obsessed with writing, which was why ever since they started the meeting he had talked less and written more. Also, more reasons for why he is just an assistant, yet his qualifications were up above the roof.

"We can't push back the release date, the media would think that we are affected by the situation and I can't let that happen." William said and got out of the room without talking more about it.

He was purely jealous about how the conversation went. He has been working in the industry for so long, and he personally had never seen a young director with so much potential to come to the top. He was waiting till the talk came up during the meeting, but his jealousy went above its peak. Yet, he was in no state to change his mind or show that he was even slightly scared.

Walking out of the office, he got a Whatsapp Text which he opened right away.
