Chapter 221 | Keep the party going!

Chapter 221 | Keep the party going!

It had been not long after the article got so famous, that even the interviewers began to question things related to what was in it from Ian, wherever he goes.

Yes, it became annoying for him at some point, but on the good side, any sort of fame boost was good for him, the company, and the new movie that they were about to release.

Nevertheless, the last day of shooting The Dark Knight has finally arrived. Everyone including Ian, and Raelynn was happy about how things were going to conclude.

“Are you sure you looked at everything? Once things wrap up, opening it again might show you’re new to directing. It’s not a bad thing, but dissolving actors, set, and crew and calling them back is malfunctioning from your end,” Ian asked in a gentle tone.

Raelynn looked at him while her thoughts were swirling with questions, but she knew what Ian was talking about.

“Let me tell you something too…” She took a step towards him.

“Hm?”

“I feel like this is one of those moments which I feel that I’ve been preparing for for a very long time. So, at the moment, you should trust me, Ian,” she said with a stern face.

A smile appeared on his face knowing what she was on about. It was true, after everything that had been going on, he should learn to trust him more.

And for her, The Dark Knight—the movie and the release meant a lot more than Ian could ever imagine. Of course, she had helped before with directing her own movie and showing her worth.

But the sequel of Batman was something every Batman fan truly looked forward to.

With Batman earning over several hundred trillions, the fanbase kept increasing up to date, which made Raelynn shiver in hope and nervousness. And that was also why she wanted to give fans all over the world what exactly they were hoping for.

With the new character being introduced, there was nothing she knew that could make the movie a flop. If anything, as Ian had predicted, the movie is going to become a top 10 in no time.

Their plan was to exceed twice the budget in the first ten days. And if that happens, that means, not just their expectations but also they’d end up with multiple nominations for awards with the movie itself.

“I already do. And you’ve no idea how much I trust you,” Ian smiled and walked away without saying anything more.

The set was finally ready to do the final scene. Ian walked towards one of the chairs that had ‘director’ written on it and sat while looking at everyone who was preparing.

From the corner of Raelynn’s eyes, she saw Christian Bale walking towards Ian with a big smile.

-

After the conversation with Raelynn, Ian sat in the chair and waited for things to settle before the last scene started to shoot.

“Hi, Ian,” Bale walked towards Ian and extended his hand which made Ian stand up to retreat from the politeness.

“How have you been?” Ian asked and took the handshake.

“Good, coming back to the set, this was all amazing. And I expected to see more of you on set. Busy huh?”

“Ah, don’t even remind me. How have you been, hero?”

He avoided ranting about what he wanted to do. How things had become critical to manage after Mason had left. How making movies, working on them but at the same time, being the voice to keep everything under control was hard.

“Pretty good, all because of you. How do you think this movie would come out? High hopes as usual?”

“Haha… Of course. Of course-”

“Everyone in position!” Raelynn’s voice made both of them turn their heads.

“Later,”

“Later.”

-

The shooting started without wasting any more minutes.

The cameras focused on Gordon and Batman.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

“Zooming in… Action!”

“Hannah, take it closer!”

“Perfect..!”

Raelynn’s commands came from the background while the actors including Christian Bale tried to get into the character.

“Five dead? Two of them cops? We can't sweep that under”

“No. But the Joker cannot win. Batman crouches to Dent's body,” Batman said.

“Gotham needs its true hero.”

Gently, he turns Dent's head so the good side of his face is up. Gordon looks from Dent's face to Batman. Understanding.

“You? You can't,” Gordon said with enthusiasm in his voice.

“Yes, I can.”

Batman stands. Faces Gordon.

“You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. I can do those things because I'm not a hero, like Dent. I killed those people. That's what I can be.”

“No, you can't! You're not!” Gordon’s angry voice came aloud.

Batman hands Gordon his police radio.

“I'm whatever Gotham needs me to be.”

Thus, the shooting carried on before they changed the location. As this was the final day, Raelynn had managed to build up sets just as she wanted in places she had discussed before with Ian.

With that, things were much easier.

-

“....AND, ACTION!”

“...a hero. Not the hero we deserved the hero we needed. Nothing less than a knight. Shining…”

“....And cut!”

With her command, everyone dropped the act and started looking at each other.

Is this it?

Is this the final shot?

So, the movie shooting has ended?

Is she not satisfied with it?

Does she need more?

Ian is waiting in the corner of the room, does he have to say anything?

Did Ian like the shot?

Will he like their acting?

Thoughts, feelings, comments, inner ghosts, and several other questions were floating in everyone’s minds including the actors.

It was the first time that Ian had spent extra time and attention on set, and actors were nervous ever since they saw Ian walk in. With the director of the movie shouting, ‘cut’ there was only one thing they wanted to know, whether it was a good shot or not.

Raelynn took some more time to watch the clip over and over again.

Pairs of eyes including Ian’s were on her.

“It was good, but I want the last part from Gordon again. Back to position….!”

-

“...a hero. Not the hero we deserved the hero we needed. Nothing less than a knight. Shining…”

“CUT! PERFECT! It’s a wrap, everyone! Thank you so much…. This is good!”

Her words were interrupted by the loud claps all around the set, nevertheless, everyone was happy.

“Gather around, everyone!” Ian yelled, taking the microphone-kind of equipment off of Raelynn’s hand.

“First of all, what I want to say is that today is not the first day that I’m watching you all act!”

Gasps and frowns were all heard and seen among the crowd.

As Raelynn had announced it was the last day—while making a big deal about wrapping up the shooting, everyone including even the side actors were there.

It was not normal for all the actors to get together on the final day of shooting. Normally, it was just the actors who were supposed to be there, ending and wrapping up the shooting, but in this case, things were a bit different.

“So, I heard y’all got the luck to collect hidden eggs in the movie even before its release huh?” Ian yelled and everyone shouted with different responses.

“Yeah yeah, okay! So, I’m not going to give a very long speech or anything of that sort. I’m just here to say that there’d be a huge party, held to celebrate the journey and tough time of months… BLUE LILIES EVERYONE!!!”

The cheers were the loudest of all time. Ian looked around to see everyone laughing, clapping, and chatting with each other.

“This is great!!!”

“I’m sure this is going to be the most memorable movie I’ve ever worked on!”

“Wow…! What should I do more to become a side actor once again?!”

“Party time!!!”

“My followers are going to love it!!”

“Batman fans…. Their treat tonight!”

Everyone was feeling happy as they all walked outside and then parted ways just to meet at the bar—right where Ian wanted them to be.

Walking outside, the chilly air hit Bale’s lungs.

“This is going to be fucking amazing,” he said loud enough for Freddy to hear.

“Fuck yeah. It’s been a long time since I relaxed!”

“Yeah. How are you, man? I didn’t even get to talk to you with all the stuff today.”

“I’m fine, let’s just get the party going!!!”

Another bunch of friends who met through the movie were beside the two main actors.

“If tonight isn’t the night, I don’t think when it will be. I literally auditioned by mistake when my agency put me up due to my wild luck… and it was amazing, I can fucking cry…….”

The voices faded as Ian and Raelynn smiled at each other, from behind while listening to everyone talk amongst themselves.

“This truly is nice,” she said to herself, which made his smile expand more.

‘It sure is’ he thought to himself.
