Chapter 235 | Friday Night Live

Chapter 235 | Friday Night Live

The cameras zoomed in to capture the grin of the host who sat and was grinning back towards the cameras. The environment of the room was cosy, and Fin was giving perfectly warm vibes to everyone including the guests of the show.

It was a Friday night—and accordingly, Friday nights were to chill and relax at home after the weeks’ extensive work, and for kids, it was simply a break from school.

Shows like Friday Night’s Live get millions and millions of fans from all over the world considering how famous they get because of the celebrities they invite.

Friday Night Live–the show host has a good history of inviting trending actors and actresses based on Hollywood box office numbers. The popularity the celebrities bear made the numbers of the show rise or fall depending on their fame. Nevertheless, Fin was someone who people loved based on the same reason---he gave what they wanted.

Back in the studio, much time wasn’t left until the show was about to start. And it should be noted that this Friday was five days after the release of John Wick, which was already trending in the top ten along with other movies that were being released by highly known companies like Goofy.

The same week John Wick was released, Death Realism and Karma was released.

“Going live in…”

The studio was small, yet the set was built inside the sound studio perfectly so that the heat of the live streak washed everyone’s nerves away.

As soon as the producer counted in,

“Good morning and welcome New Yorkers! How have you been?! On this hot Sunday afternoon, I’ve nothing to say except, how hot can you be?! The trending news nowadays is how Kimmy the Mom took a break from politics to become a mother yet people are begging for her return considering how thoughtful she’d be with the state… Yet, there’s a lot in the line!

To make interesting things much more interesting, we've got someone on board who is a virgin… I mean-” The host, Fin closed his mouth with his bare hands dramatically while looking at the camera, then to his sides.

The audience laughed at his reaction.

“I mean, a show virginnnnnn… KEANU REEVES EVERYONE!”

Keanu stood up from his chair and bowed to the audience while waving at the cameras.

“My man, you’re everywhere!”

Keanu laughed at his statement.

“How have you been? Thank you for having me over today,” he said politely as he stood up from his chair a little and sat back, getting comfortable in the seat.

The couch he was sitting on was surprisingly comfortable, and he found himself staring at the lights.

“Great. Great! So…” Fin shook his head, and took out a huge board written ‘JOHN WICK’ boldly in it. “How are you feeling about this? Being released?”

Keanu chuckled at the question. He sighed before answering. “I-it is released. I mean, it’s out there for the world to watch, and truthfully, it feels surreal. As everyone knows, it’s in the media… I’m a writer. A part-time writer who just wanted enough money to make my own movie. Then, Ian was there, he came into my life… And now, there’s a movie out. I’m leading it, and the results are shocking, truthfully!”

“Wow... Wow- Yeah, Keanu, that’s a lot to take in, but I’m sure this could be your big break to hit high. Do you want to continue acting?”

Fin stuttered the first few words after hearing Keanu talk, yet the two men went into the groove of talking back to back until the time for games arrived.

The very next day, Ian was in his office—his legs were on the table as it was just seven in the morning, and he didn’t have to worry about employees roaming around the aisle judging his character.

The past couple of days have been exhausting for him. He continued to think that the movie would be fine at the box office as he had done everything he could with John Wick, but there was this unsettling feeling that made him worry as Karma and Death Realism were in the competition.

His laptop was on as he was typing and making corrections on the Lucifer next season he was writing, as the producer asked for the script a few days ago.

Ian felt the need to stop the pattern of Lucifer, which was why he was trying to use his creativity to make adjustments to the script itself.

‘Notification: Vanity Fair published a new article: John Wick interview with Keanu Reeves'.

The notification brought a smile to Ian’s face.

As he opened the article, he realised that it was a conversation between one of the best writers and Keanu. The smile remained on his face knowing that Keanu Reeves is finally achieving things that Ian had only dreamt for Keanu once.

Ever since he saw Keanu’s face, he knew that it was his responsibility to show the face of Keanu to Hollywood and that was something he thought that he was responsible for as in his previous life, Hollywood without Keanu would be something that he didn’t even want to think of.

Nevertheless, with Keanu currently being all over the place, it helped his nerves a bit as he started reading.

The beginning was of Keanu talking about his writing, and how he got there. But after the first three questions, the entire interview had turned on John Wick.

[John Wick interview with Keanu Reeves]

….. “How was the acting in John Wick for you?”

“Uhm… I love it. John Wick was a great move. I think I love myself with a great revenge tale. A guy who’s quiet and is seeking revenge for something could be totally something I’d watch over and over. John Wick has some issues, and it was overall great. I think that’s fun, and the genre is totally my cup of coffee, I think. As I saw how the action unravelled, it was really good.”

- How was the training overall? As we know about John Wick, the fights… Including gun fights with the mob and everything…?

“Yes, the directors… They set me up with some wonderful trainers and professionals to help me and train me with weapons, train with everything. I’ve had a couple of things to do on my side as well. Like, the groundwork to all the actions, and in the movie, I’ve thrown to do—lots of them. Also, I’ve to get thrown too…”

-You took a beating

“I did, indeed.”

- No injuries?

“We were good. I had a minor injury during a stunt, but other than that, we were good.

-How did it go, as it was one of the very first action movies by Ian and John, the other director?

“We’ve had little bits of help here and there. We thought it’d be necessary to have help, so we had professionals who’ve had quite the experience with several action movies. They love the genre, they know the philosophies, cinematic traditions… So they felt really mature. With their aid, they knew what they wanted to do with this story. So, I felt really comfortable, confident, and responsible… They all had such a great vision for the piece. So, it was nice. It didn’t suck at all.”

-I’m curious about one thing, what’s the one line that people love repeating back to you? What’s the one character?

“Mmm… Recently, I’ve been getting a lot of comments on John Wick’s walk and his personality. And I think the dialogue would be… The noise complaint moment. It was good. Really good.”

- Yes, Yes, I remember. So, the last question is, are you going to get one of your scripts produced as a movie?

“Yes, I’m trying to. That has been my goal throughout. So, it’d be a shame if I just walked away from my passion, which I wouldn’t dare to do. So, I hope I end up becoming a well-known scriptwriter if my work passes well enough to be. But Ian, who has a keen interest in good movies, read my scripts and approved one, so there's hope for that.

-Good luck, Mr. Reeves. Thank you so much for coming here today.

Ian read the last line of the paper and smiled at himself. Right below the article, there were plenty of comments talking about how humble Keanu is, and how good it would be if he gets his scripts to the public as a movie.

Which was yet another thing that Ian had been thinking about for quite some time. He also knew that right now there were a lot of things on his plate he needed to get off. But he went on with his principal, ‘one thing at a time’ so that multiple things wouldn’t get messed up.

He was suddenly disturbed by the knock on the door.

Without bothering to look who it was, he checked the time and it was just seven thirty.

‘Who is it in the early morning?’ He thought but turned to see someone he did not expect at all.
