After Maxin left the office, Ian kept his eyes on Mason while they fell into complete silence for a few minutes. They both knew that something like this wouldn't be let go of by people who long for Hollywood gossip.
"Forget about it, Ian. As I said, I will try my best not to get things in your way. But, as we talked earlier, these things happen and die quickly when they get something new."
Within seconds, Ian understood what Mason was trying to say. It wasn't anything new for him. Even in his previous life, he had been in the spotlight for many hot gossip headlines due to his famous dating history. Of course, the media wasn't as furious now since he is more prominent, but things got somewhat heated in his previous life.
A blonde came out of his house when the sun had barely risen. But the paparazzi who had followed them were so motivated not to miss the perfect chance to get some pictures of her coming out.
But after a few days of the heated headline, it got covered with a sex tape leaked from a famous actress. Even the tiny media that had exposed Ian had the headline of him buried as soon as the hot new title got unveiled.
Remembering this, he was suddenly feeling nothing about what happened with Alexa. He knew how Hollywood worked, and it would be gone soon as it became popular.
"Yeah, I get it. I just couldn't think straight there for a little bit. Anyway, uncle, the script I was talking about, wanna hear it?" He asked while his famous smirk was plastered on his lips.
"I'm all ears,"
"It is a series, actually. I want it to develop as a series, a tv show. I will need your help with the distribution, but let me tell you the story. This one is hella interesting. It's about Lucifer, the Devil,"
Mason, leaning back in his chair, pulled himself closer while his elbows rested on the table. He was listening with his entire focus, and it was clear. Seeing this, a smile formed on Ian's face. It usually happens when anyone solely focuses on what you have to say, knowing it's interesting for oneself. That was what Ian felt. The storyline, he loved it. And now, he is ready to speak it aloud.
"This story is about Lucifer, Lucifer Morningstar, who got bored from his sulking life in hell and came to live in Los Angeles. While there, he will help humanity with its miseries through his experience and telepathic abilities to bring people's deepest desires and thoughts out of them. While meeting with a Detective in his nightclub (Lux), a shootout involving him and the Detective leads him to become an LAPD consultant who tries to punish people for their crimes through law and justice. It basically is a story of how the cosmic creature, Lucifer, the Devil, comes to the earth. The female lead is the Detective called Chloe. They will have a surprising bond, which can seriously awe anyone. This is just a short summary, but the actual story is what people will love,"
Hearing his words, Mason's mouth formed into an 'O'. Ian smiled, feeling proud of how he put the entire story into a few lines.
"That… sure sounds interesting," Mason said with a smile.
"What is more interesting is the personality of the Devil. I bet on my life that it will attract more crowds than we can ever imagine. Lucifer is someone who is shown to hold a deep resentment towards his father, as well as his mother, for doing nothing. He is very open about his identity as the Devil, always telling people who he is. However, very few take him seriously unless he lets them see his "Devil Face," He is also highly sexual and irresistible to most people. And as I mentioned before, he has powers to make any human spill out their deepest darkest secret or what they want the most in their life." Ian said while taking a break from his continuous mumbling.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"Hm… Devil sure does sound intriguing," Mason stated.
"Yeah, not to mention Lucifer Morningstar is sometimes all too human; he can be self-centered, clueless about the feelings of others, and even more clueless about his own. He uses therapy less as a method of getting at the heart of his inner demons (ha!) and more as an excuse to justify his often selfish actions to himself. Yet he's also fiercely loyal, protective, often compassionate, and eager to help his friends. Still, as the King of Hell and son of God, Lucifer comes with some pretty awe-inspiring powers to go with his all-too-human traits."
"Now, that… Is someone I want to meet," Mason laughed with Ian.
"Yeah, I can seriously bet anything. This series will peak with a good team and nice production."
Mason remained silent for a while and shot his question, which was that he had a question to ask, "Can I ask something?"
"Sure, go ahead,"
"How do you even get such ideas, Ian?" Mason asked. Curiosity was clearly evident in his voice.
"After two movie scripts and an entire successful book, you are asking this question now?"
"I asked before, too,"
"Uncle, you gotta know how my brain works now. I am no genius, but that's what I aim for. A genius image with a few masterpieces. And regarding Lucifer, I don't want to start working on it yet; I'm still working on the script, but… I do hope to start pre-production at the end of La La Land."
Mason nodded for Ian's explanation, "Yeah, let's work on your plan. But, just so you know, your dad is so proud of you right now,"
Ian smiled, hearing his words, "Thank you, uncle. And, for Lucifer, we will need a new producer. A TV producer. After I write enough script to talk about it, let's see it. Have you talked to the dance choreographer for La La Land, the one I asked for?"
Then they started talking about the production of La La Land.
-
"Sebastian Evans, finally here, after what… Two years?" Mason laughed and brotherly-hugged the middle-aged man standing in front of him.
"We met a year ago. You forgot me too easily, it seems," Sebastian laughed and sat on the couch of the front studio.
"Feels like forever, man. The truth is, without Renner, I don't even feel like coming here. Of course, hanging with you is fun, but I just miss the good man," Sebastian said in a sad tone.
Sebastian Evans is one of the three people in the circle of Henry Renner, the father of Ian's friends. Mason, Henry, and Sebastian (MHS, as they called themselves) went to college together and worked in the same industry. Sebastian was the tallest and the most handsome-looking one among the three. His hair became white over time, as did his mustache and beard. But for a lean-fit body, his face suited him as an actor.
Mason and Henry started working together in Renner's Studio while Sebastian began on his way to his goal, to own his own Record Label. He started 'Sound Supremacy' after getting enough capital and a name for himself in the industry. In fact, SS (Sound Supremacy) was doing well in its own field. Which was also a part of why Mason wanted to meet Sebastian.
"Yeah, I can totally relate. I was feeling somewhat like that ever since the unfortunate incident, but I know that you know about his son's work, Ian Renner, remember the name?" Mason said.
"I did hear and was surprised as heck. If only I was in California, I would have seen it with my eyes. France wasn't bad either, but the people I worked with sucked. However, how is Ian doing? How as in, *how*?" Sebastian emphasized how wanting to know how the success is as it is now.
"Kid grew up; what more I can say, Seb. After Henry's… you know, death-" Mason hesitated to mention the word as he always did. "-Ian came once saying he needs work. At that time, the young man literally hooked up with the assistant. I was letting it pass, but I got information that he said to an actress that she would get the role if she slept with him." Sebastian' tsked' and shook his head, hearing Mason's words. "I know, right? So I kicked him out right away."
"But he came back?" Sebastian asked.
"After a few months, he did. But, as you know, he has the majority of the shares. So when he showed his idea for 'Home Alone,' which you probably didn't watch even though it was directed by him, I said ok but doubted him all along due to what he did before," Mason's sarcasm didn't go unnoticed by Sebastian.
"It did so well, and I'm glad it did. What made him change his… self?" Sebastian questioned. It was almost as if he was getting ready to challenge Mason as soon as he met him. That was how quick he was with what he wanted to ask.
