After the cast settled, Mason took care of building the set and everything. Mason had to take care of two projects simultaneously—Resident Evil movie and Crazy, Stupid, Love.
The crew worked immensely hard and was prepared and ready to start the shooting.
Yet, the clothing designers had asked for two-three extra days to finish every design they started working on.
Typically, the designers would take weeks or even months to develop a suitable closet for every character, but it was easy with Ian. He had assigned himself the role of guiding the designers to suit the characteristics of the characters, which affected their clothing patterns.
"Are you done with that?" Mason asked Ian.
Right during mid-day, Ian was scribbling and drawing an aesthetic for the clothing pattern of another character.
"I just got over with the main characters. I don't even have to draw much. The team is amicable and talented. I have to show briefly," Ian said while stretching his neck.
"Get some rest, Ian," Mason said, knowing how hard Ian had been working lately.
"We just started, uncle. There's a long way to go. Although my body aches for a rest, my mind keeps chanting, 'keep going.' Can't avoid it now, can I?" Ian chuckled and got back to do his work.
"Of course, you can't. But it was a wise move to start Crazy, Stupid, Love considering it's a 50 million dollar budget. And you know, after the release of Batman Begins, I heard many studios are already trying to get on with new movie concepts," Mason said while shaking his head.
"Are they now?" Ian scoffed.
"Yeah, but the party after Avatar got them a reality check. Still, there are directors after us wanting to know our next step. I bet my life on it. They won't expect a romantic comedy from us soon."
The way Mason implied that made Ian chuckle.
"Even if they did, I'm pretty sure we are doing fine with our projects. How is it going to Bale? I haven't seen him for a few weeks, more like more than a month," Ian said, thinking how busy he was.
"He was doing fine. He visited the office while you were away, and there's a high possibility he'd come around again. But it's like many directors are after every actor who gets the population with our movies."
"As they should, it's no wonder I saw that coming."
A comfortable silence spread between them after the words left Ian's mouth.
"Excuse me, sir, Lisa is here," Murphy said.
"Call her in, please," It was Ian.
"Nice to see you again, Lisa. How have you been?" Ian said, standing from where he was and shaking hands with Lisa.
Lisa was a pleasant-looking woman in her mid-thirties and was the co-designer with another talented-brilliant man. She had been working in the industry for quite a while now. Seven years is no joke.
"Eagerly waiting to see the designs. Oh, they are almost complete…." Lisa said, looking at the paper in Ian's hand.
"I'll see you both later," Mason said with a smile and walked out.
"Yes, so—" Ian presented the paper and pushed it to the desk for her to see.
"These are honestly great. Normally, this is something to me and Fred should be doing. I spent time on characters, the designs, and everything, but you made it easier for us by showing how they dress. And even in this–" Lisa pointed to the dress Ian had to draw for Kate. "This is something that explains a lot, and I can make an entire closet out of just this dress,"
"Hahaha… That is the plan. Although I never admit it publicly, art and drawing are something I always loved doing." Ian sighed and shrugged before continuing, "The project was scheduled to shoot on Monday anyway, which meant that this would be easy if I just helped you both. Also, it relaxes my mind," Ian said while taking a glimpse at his work.

"Yeah, I can see that. And Mr. Renner, this must be the last character, right?" She asked.
"Yeah, you're right. Here are the others. The rest of the job is yours," Ian said and smiled, allowing the woman to walk out of the office.
*Ding!*
It was an email, an email addressed to Ian. By LeoTv. Ian took a deep breath and opened it, guessing it was more work for him. He couldn't think of anything more related to LeoTv than the next season of Lucifer.
Bingo!
It was an email requesting a meeting with LeoTv within the next week. Ian quickly checked the schedule, his pointy finger clicking on days on the calendar.
'Monday…Shooting,' Ian whispered to himself.
On Monday, the shooting of Crazy, Stupid, Love was supposed to begin. But, as the shooting wouldn't go days without a break, he knew he could squeeze into a meeting with LeoTv. But before that, he had something else to do.
-
21st of April, 2019.
At Renner's Mansion, Beverly Hills.
It was a day off for Ian. He couldn't wake up in his bed, even though it had been almost an hour since his consciousness hit after a deep, peaceful sleep. Taking the phone from the nightstand, it read 12.08 pm.
'Well, here we go.'
He stood up and got out of bed. Walking to the bathroom, he knew a warm shower would wake all his brain cells up for the following tasks he had to achieve.
[...] While the water hit his hair, as any average person would go through brainstorming ideas, Ian had his moment during the shower.
In his mind, he kept thinking about what had happened during the past couple of months. First, Batman Begins was released, and how the journey went took a turn in his own life. And then, the Avatar.
He smiled to himself while the water washed his face. Avatar brought the best experiences that he had ever had while shooting. He thought about how he had never had such an experience with one movie, even in his previous life. The forest, diving, flying—Experiences he got knew no boundaries.
After that, he focused on the VFX editing, scriptwriting, and helping a little out for the pre-production of Crazy, Stupid, Love. Thinking about all of it, he felt at ease and heavy both. He sighed.
Then his thoughts were clouded about his next steps, and ever heard that thoughts could go at a flash speed, unlike talking? That was what was happening inside Ian's mind. In a blink, everything played, and the rest of the information—he thought.
Crazy, Stupid, Love, Lucifer, Batman: The Dark Knight, and maybe more. More, he thought, not just a movie, but M.O.R.E.

Sitting in front of the laptop, after a long day of break—he started typing what he was about to do next.
Complete writing of Season 2 of Lucifer.
They addressed the email to Ian to discuss the next step with Lucifer. Since LeoTv had gotten quite a lot of exposure and unconditional attraction for the series, they wanted to quicken the following season. And it was mainly because, when the hype goes down, it will lead to decrements in their following plans.
Ian, who knew they would probably ask for the script, and discussions for the next series, started typing out the manuscript.
LUCIFER: Season 2, Episode 1.

His night flew by, and he composed the manuscript for four episodes. While writing the manuscript, so many emotions flooded Ian's mind. But they were mainly about Lucifer's character traits.
Urgh! Back to square one, talking about Lucifer, aren't we? No.
They built Lucifer's character to hang in with his personality and charisma throughout the entire series. Ian had almost forgotten how much of an interesting character Lucifer is. Still, writing dialogues and thinking about the movements—it was almost as if episodes played in front of his eyes.
It was almost 5 am, and Ian was in the last episode he had targeted the previous night. As he kept typing on his computer, he felt a yawn escaping his mouth.
