Chapter 133.

Chapter 133.

Scarlett was on her way to her agent's place.

After the word of her and Ian had spread, she was avoiding media for a few different reasons. But as she already had a considerable number of interviews scheduled so far, she couldn't avoid the entire mass of reporters.

While walking to her office, she noticed how there were two-three men, holding cameras in front of the building.

Waving her hand, she quickly thought of walking in without answering any of the questions they were throwing at her.

"Ms. Scarlett-"

"Can we have a word with you please-?"

"You look beautiful today, we just want to know-"

Scarlett who wore her shades avoided eye contact with any of them but kept walking ignoring all the questions.

Once she reached her office, she was met with her agent.

"Good morning, Scarlett. How is it going for you?"

"Don't act like you don't know, Sabrina. I'm still trying to get used to all the scandal thingy. But, it doesn't affect me anymore, just I wish these people stopped following me." Scarlett sighed and sat on the leather couch.

"Ah yes, so as for today. There are literally so many interviews that you were invited to. I'm not sure about participating for more than half, but there are two or three that you must take a look at," Sabrina said while showing her the tablet that was in her hand.

"I can already feel you're about to say something, say it already."

Scarlett looked at Sabrina with skeptical eyes knowing there was a question dancing on tip of her tongue.

"Ian and you- Man, how did it even-" She muffled the chuckle that was about to escape.

Scarlett laughed with her, her face already turning crimson at the mention. In her mind, she thought that 'if only you knew.'

After what had happened between Ian and her, she told herself that it was fun yet a meaningless passion to get it out of her system, which worked quite well in her opinion.

"Moving on…" Sabrina said with a smirk continuing the monthly plan she was supposed to share with Scarlett.

-

There were only two weeks left for the release of Avatar.

There was also one thing Ian wanted to go smoothly—and that was the release. He subconsciously knew the potential of the movie considering how well it was executed, but still the results of it would say many things in comparison to other movies that had been released.

Not only the movie, but also he had planned out what the rest of the year would go after the release of the movie.

Since Avatar was most likely to take a hit soon, he wanted to make sure that the rest of the things that he had in mind had the perfect flow to him, career-wise.

He wanted no movie of his to flop—but would it go smoothly as he expected?

"Mr. Ian Renner, the word of your new movie being out with its super glorious trailer is right on the corner, what do you feel about it?"

There were a bunch of reporters with their equipment ready to record every word he was about to say.

"I feel quite accomplished, to be honest. This is not the first movie and won't be the last movie. Since CGI and VFX graphics are already in demand in the current trends of the industry, I was thinking that Avatar could bring a massive change with its potential. Also with that being said, I'm pretty sure perspectives on the term, 'animated movies' would change shortly.

What I'm feeling… Quite great, to be honest."

"You were working with Zoe in the movie, how was she? She was known to be a tough actress in the industry, and was it easy to deal with her?"

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

"Of course not. Although she lacked so much experience to work smoothly, she caught up quickly. And Liam was helping a lot, which worked in my favor. And trust me, the entire crew was being supportive."

Ian took a sip of water and nodded at the man who had his arm up, wanting to ask a question.

"What is Avatar exactly about? The trailer doesn't say 100% but increases the curiosity to watch the movie. And many people are waiting to know what the movie exactly is about…"

"Isn't that the whole point?" Hearing that, everyone laughed. "I mean, it is the whole point of releasing a teaser. The movie would be about a bunch of aliens— an alien world. I find the theme interesting so did everyone else. I hope everyone enjoys it too."

Ian was already tired of listening to their questions. But this meeting was scheduled to increase the curiosity and the hype for the movie's release.

Also, there were many questions nearby that he knew he'd be questioned about.

"Yeah, thank you, Ian."

"Ian. Mr. Renner–"

"Hello there."

"So, what do you have to say for all the fans who await the movie release?"

"It's worth all the patience," Ian answered truthfully.

The questions and answers were getting heavy and quick little by little. Although the reporters and everyone else around them were chilling with every moment that passed, there was so much room for his personal life to come up.

Right when he thought, "Ian, is it true that you are dating Ms. Scarlett Johnson?"

"Haha… It's not. And, to be honest, this was not the first time such a question is thrown in my way—especially about an actress who acted in a movie I directed. Anyway to answer your question, no I'm not. Even if I'm, I don't think it's any of anyone's concern to check up on my personal life."

Ian was strict about his answer.

The reporters were shocked since Ian was never a person to answer the media like that. He was calm and friendly, but this was unexpected.

"Why are you getting warmed up by the question?" Another person's question.

"Let's start off with how the media had portrayed me when I only went out to have dinner with a friend. And as we all know, Scarlett is someone who still is climbing her way into the industry. Talks like this would just make things worse for her. And more than that, this interview was supposed to be about my next movie." Ian answered.

His answer completely shut everyone off.

"Uh yes sir, we understand. So, can we know more about your future plans? As we are aware, you've been in collaboration with Goofy? Will it continue? Can we expect more from both the studios?" Another reporter asked.

"It depends. The agreement I've signed with Goofy is not a lifetime one, nor a deal to cut off after a few projects together. This might be the first or the last, but for how much of a potentially succeeding nature Goofy has, I'm pretty sure Avatar wouldn't be the last. Yet, no promises."

"Ian, Jeff had mentioned that you were such a talented young man, and even out of the screen, you're someone who the coworkers could continuously look upon, what do you have to say regarding that?"

Ian noticed the microphone the reporter was holding, and he realized that the media company was a Goofy-affiliated company.

"Oh yes, I saw the interview and I think it was very kind of him. Not to mention, Mr. Sanson was very easy to work with, and I'm looking forward to more. Next question please," Ian moved on.

Likewise, the interview continued for more than two hours. After one hour of Ian sitting and answering, Mason, Raelynn, Lucas, and almost every possible person behind the scenes joined him.

It was truly an interview that would be in the talks among the general in no time.

[...] 'Ah' Ian stretched the wrist of his hand, noticing how he had held the mic the whole evening.

He suddenly remembered how he had talked to the reporters. 'That was just the start,' he thought.

There was a huge reason why he had planned such answers before facing the interviews. It was mainly because he had focused a lot on being safe with the questions during his first few interviews when he first entered the industry.

But not anymore. He didn't want to be rude or come out as arrogant, but he didn't want anyone walking all over him.

-

Jeff was at home, watching the interview Ian gave and which was going on viral on U-Tube for certain answers he had given.

At first, Jeff wanted nothing more than to collaborate with the young man, to hold power over him so that he would not be a huge competition over Goofy, but now… He was not sure about the young man's intentions.

He was wearing his pajamas and was with his phone lying on the bed, had a frown drawn on his head.

"Is everything okay, honey?" His wife walked in.

"Hmm."

Jeff hummed and nodded. She walked behind him and massaged his shoulders. Something she realized was how tense he was.

"Is that Ian Renner?" She asked, peaking over the shoulder blades.

'Talk about women not keeping their thoughts to themselves,' he thought. "Yeah, he is."

"You still didn't take us to watch Crazy, Stupid, Love. Natalie has been asking ever since it got released."

"Tell her to grow up first," Jeff said while turning his phone off. He shook his head at his own words and switched the lamp off.

His wife who was used to his words didn't utter anything more but slept on the other side of the bed.
