Chapter 216 | An End

Happy New year people! My only prayer is that I get to write more and more while y'all get to read more and more! Have a fruitful year! -TC

The next morning, everything that had happened felt surreal to Raelynn who had woken up a while ago, and now kept looking outside the window.

Noticing the shower go off in the bathroom, she straightened up in the bed and waited for him to come outside.

“Hey, good morning love,” Ian greeted seeing her pretty smile.

“How was your shower?”

She asked and kissed Ian on his lips as he walked towards her with a big fat smile. Not every day was very refreshing to the pair. As they were very busy people with different work lives—with two movies, at two places.

Nevertheless, the exhausting days came to a break to Ian’s surprise. And to increase the thrill, Scarlett and Raelynn had both enjoyed the night and fell asleep while they kept talking about general things.

[Back in the night - After all their steamy sessions]

On the bed, Ian had his arms around two women. Scarlett and Raelynn, both of their faces upwards and focused on the roof.

“...Jeff wouldn’t back up easily,”

The conversation was being carried out about Jeff Sanson who had become a major threat to Ian.

The problem with Jeff wasn't that he was continuously attacking Ian left and right. But he kept appearing from time to time, just to create messes whenever things go right for Ian.

“I've already planned to tackle him. And there’s nothing to worry about him. He’s the kind of man who always thinks that he’s way steps ahead of me… Only time will tell.”

“You’re quite sexy when you continuously keep thinking about something and draw the plan in your head,” Rae said with a chuckle and yawned.

“Go to sleep,” he whispered and kissed her head.

“Yeah, I’m. But…” Now her voice was rather raspy and she was dragging her words one by one without a break. “I want to say that this can be considered the very best sex I’ve ever had in my life. Scarlett has some good movies,” she said.

“I want to know more about you too. Are you both in love?” the third woman who shared the night questioned while looking at Ian who already had a smirk on his face.

“What-” she paused after her question. “Neither one of you had said it?” she asked surprisingly.

The couple stayed quiet letting Scarlett process her thoughts.

“What are you still thinking?” Ian asked Scarlett who had a mischievous smile on her face.

Scarlett’s iconic smile made Ian reciprocate her feelings. Scarlett’s smile was breathtaking, true. Her eyes could absorb anyone’s feelings when they wrinkled like when she laughed.

But when he looked at Raelynn, her one glance was more than enough for Ian’s heart to beat twice as it did before.

“To be honest, I never thought I’d see you both together. Not now, not ever. It’s more like, surprising but not shocking. And if I’m right, I’m pretty sure that the unspoken feelings are in the air, and waiting for a moment to get them out” She sighed a relaxing sigh.

“It’s kind of amazing. If I’m a love guru or any of that sort, I’d have yelled ‘soulmates’ from the very first day I saw you both interacting with each other on the set. It was obvious even from how eyes worked between y’all. Ah! Who says perfect couples don’t exist?” She said and groaned.

“It’s 1 in the morning. I’ve to go-”

“Let me drop you,” Ian offered with a concerned face.

“It’s okay. My driver must be waiting outside for me to come. I’ll be going.”

Scarlett stood up immediately and started to get dressed.

The environment of the room felt rose by a few degrees for Ian. It was mainly because of the question Scarlett shot at them.

Yes, they haven’t fully confessed how they feel for each other yet, but their actions towards each other explained the unsaid.

Nevertheless, Ian had already had plans about when and how to confess to her, but for that, they had to wait until he was ready and steady in the industry.

[End of flashback]

“Refreshing as ever. Aren’t you going to work today?” Ian asked back.

[AT SET - The Dark Knight]

It had been weeks since the start of the shooting. Ever since then, it has been nothing but back-to-back shooting, training, and making everyone including the people in the cast train harder and harder.

Nevertheless, it had come to a point where everyone was trying and making an effort to get quick and perfect shots.

Although things were going how she wanted, recently the actor who was playing Joker’s behavior had become slightly unpredictable.

With the scenes, dialogue, and make-up for anyone it would look like he is really into his character. Among the people who’d say it’s normal, there was Raelynn, who was more than concerned about his mental health.

“...ACTION!”

“...I'm a dog chasing cars... I wouldn't know what to do with one if I caught it. I just do things. I'm just the wrench in the gears. I hate plans. Yours, theirs, everyone's. Maroni has plans. Gordon has plans. Schemers trying to control their worlds. I'm not a schemer, I show the schemers how pathetic their attempts to control things are. So when I say that you and your girlfriend were nothing personal, you know I'm telling the truth…” Joker said, looking at Dent.

It was an intense moment. Joker handed the pistol to Dant. He held it, and then looked at Joker. The hand reached Joker’s head.

Joker’s face remained neutral, and for the scene, Raelynn felt as if the perfect scene to ever exist is coming to life.

“....CUT! Take five, and can I talk to you for a minute?” Raelynn questioned the actor who was playing the joker.

“I’ll be there if you need me!” Bale said while walking out of the set and sitting in the special seat that was reserved for him.

“Take his makeup off,” she said to the make-up artist while looking at the actor who was acting as a joker as he was still looking like his character.

And for the conversation that they were about to have, Raelynn couldn’t help but think that she needs to completely face the man who he is, except for him acting as the Joker—she thought it should be a discussion between the real person and her.

After ten minutes of work, and extra five minutes of make-up wiping, the actor sat with a water bottle in his hand, looking at Raelynn who had her concerned face on.

“Yeah?” he asked her.

“Freddy, how have you been?” Raelynn asked.

“I’m alright. What’s up, Raelynn?” he asked back, equally concerned.

“I’ve someone for you to meet, are you ready?” she asked while Fred—Freddy Hawkings nodded without thinking more.

“Yeah, but why?” Freddy replied with curiosity dancing in his eyes.

“It’s nothing serious, just a small conversation. I heard that you’ve stopped going to your therapist for some time now, and it’s not exactly what we agreed to…” Raelynn said with a pause. “You have to take this seriously, you know.”

“You brought me a therapist here?” Freddy asked with a stern expression.

-

Freddy was an A-grade actor who had won phenomenal awards for a movie he acted in, Psycho. And after that, he spent his entire time keeping a good reputation in front of the media.

Hence, the current gig was given to him after the director herself had found his acting phenomenal for the role that he played.

According to what she had first when they first started talking about the role, and when he agreed to the role, she warned him that the dark theme could probably get into his head unnecessarily, and as per her warning, the truth was that—it has.

“How have you been, Freddy?” his therapist questioned him.

The room around them was private. He had his arms placed in front of him as he looked right into her eyes.

"I've been good, how are you?" He asked back.

The therapist and Freddy had quite a good connection, and asking back how his therapist is doing became a normal thing.

“Great, and we haven’t been in touch for some time now. This new role, I heard it’s the protagonist....”

“Ah, yes,” Freddy said and looked her in the eyes. He sighed loudly because there was no hiding from the woman who had read his mind inside out for years.

“I'm having trouble sleeping. And to be honest, I just feel like shit is getting worse. Fuck, I should’ve come to you the first day this happened~”

“Hmm, I can’t disagree with that. And it’s alright. Let’s take baby steps for now. What keeps you awake?”

The conversation started continuing and Freddy couldn’t help but continue to thank Raelynn from his mind when he started explaining what exactly was bothering him.
