Chapter 241 | Passion!

Chapter 241 | Passion!

“Dom Cobb is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb's rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible, inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be a perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming.”

John listened to the idea fully engrossed in it.

It has been quite some time since John decided to choose his passion over family pressure.

But after that, as his first step, he didn’t know what to do. There were a lot of things that he knew he wanted to experience in the industry, but something that he didn’t know was where to start and what to do.

Which was why the duo was where they were now. At their regular coffee shop.

Ian walked inside the coffee shop with nothing but worry in his mind. It was in that morning that he had heard about how John appeared brave in front of his parents and decided to choose what he wanted to do.

“Hey! How are you?!” Ian asked as soon as he sat beside him.

“Holding up good. How is it going there?” John asked back.

“Eh, seriously-”

“What about John Wick?”

“What more could I say? Our movie did its best and will continue to do so for the upcoming several months too. Which is a huge thing considering that this is your first movie with me.”

John nodded with a slight smile. He had two empty coffee cups in front of him, and from the sight of them, Ian knew there’s got to be something wrong.

“Tell me about you… How was it?”

“Hm?”

“How was leaving everything behind and finally being able to follow your passion?”

John chuckled dryly. “I wouldn’t say it’s great, Ian. I have guilt over what I choose and over what I had to lose. My father wouldn’t probably forgive me for a year. But if this was a movie, the situation would be different. I’d go away from the house. Start building my studio, or start working on something immediately, lash out all my pent-up creativity-”

Ian cut him off short knowing that if he talked further the entire conversation would be sappy—Happy and sad. But instead, he wanted to cheer him up and show him what he had in his mind for John.

“To be honest, I’ve always rooted for you. I knew that you didn’t want to do your father’s business… And with all of that flashing in my mind about how passionate you were about everything… It changes a lot of things…”

Ian said and smiled back.

“I know. But what am I going to do?” John shook his head and drank the little left coffee in his cup.

“I wouldn’t say to start over” John raised an eyebrow at his statement. “Because you’ve already started things on where you’re going. If it’s a newbie, they’d have so much trouble starting things fresh, but man, you already started. Now it’s a matter of continuing and choosing to direct over and over again.”

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

John smiled. “You’re right. But what’s next for you?”

[Present]

It was then Ian stopped explaining and sharing the plot of Inception, which was his next movie in line.

While he was writing the script for Inception, he had a lot of things on his mind. According to his plan, within the next five years of working in the industry, he wanted to be someone who’d be unshakable in the industry.

As for the present, one of the major companies that are unshakable is Goofy. The one that is being led by Jeff Sanson, who almost became a threat to his career. Nevertheless, when he takes over Goofy’s position, which would be as if he were taking over Disney in his previous world, he’d have done a fair job in his chance of this new life.

This was why he decided to go with Inception which was a phenomenal movie in his precious world.

Inception was a 2010 science fiction action film written and directed by Christopher Nolan–who was also the director of many legendary movies in his original world–and among them, Ian brought Batman’s masterpiece to this world. Christopher Nolan produced the film with Emma Thomas, his wife. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a professional thief who steals information by infiltrating the subconscious of his targets. He is offered a chance to have his criminal history erased as payment for the implantation of another person's idea into a target's subconscious.

“Woah… That is something!” John said loudly as soon as he heard the entire plot of the next movie.

“Yeah… It sure is…”

“Have you named the movie yet?” John asked back.

Ian smiled. “Not yet.”

“Now that’s something new. I’ve always heard how you have got these amazing plots and names already written in papers when you start a movie.”

Ian nodded. “Usually, yes. This is going to be different.”

[Feazel Gaming Inc. - Burbank]

Leonard Eastman sat in his office while looking through the documents over and over.

He was also a shareholder in Feazel Gaming, and for the past few months, the gaming company has been doing worse than how it was doing before. The main problem was how they weren’t able to release something new and exciting as everyone was expecting.

The last two Video Games they released had the repeating theme they’ve had going for quite some time.

“May I come in?” Louisa, his assistant, walked in with a huge smile.

“Yeah, come in…”

She walked in and sat with her tablet in hand.

“Are you still thinking about the project—sir?” She asked, the latter word coming out with hesitation.

“Yeah, Louisa. There’s a lot at stake with us starting to work on it. Do you know? There are still so many things to discuss with the board, and that excludes Jeff from all our business.”

“It’s also none of your business at the same time. What the top management does with their shares, all the selling and deals are basically off of your pages of concern.” She reminded him.

She was a tall, blonde wearing glasses, and from the looks of her, she was smart. Her words show her capability to stay as the assistant to someone like Leonard, who was also smart and headstrong.

“Yes. But Jeff is going to sue me if he finds out that I’m going to start working on Ian’s project.”

Louisa nodded knowing it was true.

“I’ll have to talk to him. Before Ian does, I suppose. And please, can you take this file to the design team? Jamie asked already.”

Louisa nodded again and took the file to her hand.

The unspoken words showed that Leonard has finally started to absorb the truth that either way he’d have to work under Ian—even if it threatens his career after having the ‘talk’ with Jeff.

“Alright, when should we meet after work?” She asked and walked around the table.

Oh, that was right. Although Leonard had a beautiful family waiting for him in the huge house he built, he was screwing his assistant. It started last year, and is still ongoing. With that being said, it should also be mentioned that there were no chances of going back on that one.

“7.10 pm. Be here.” He said while she kissed him passionately, then walked away.

[CNW News]

“...The rumours of Ian Renner coming stronger than ever with another movie idea are being addressed through Ian’s Nwitter account. It has been said, Director Ian Renner is preparing for another movie. Although it was hinted subtly, all the fans believe that he will start working on his next movie soon….”

The woman on the screen continued to talk more about news in Hollywood as the producers sat behind the screen, looking at her eventfully.

“Ian is making the news back to back, huh?” the old man asked the lady who sat beside him.

“Yeah. Although his Nweet just said, ‘Maybe’ Nwitter blasted and it’s already on the news. I wonder what more he has.”

The old man chuckled under his breath.

“In my forty years working and reporting back-to-back history with people, this is the first time I saw a young man taking it all out on all the experienced directors out there. It truly is something.”
