It has been several days since Ian chose the director he was going to work with, something he had planned for some time. This was when he finished drafting The Godfather, a movie that made many people admire the masterpiece for years. Although Ian had many ideas in mind, he decided to take one thing at a time. His end goal was to give Hollywood something they wouldn’t have imagined in a million years, something that would advance the existing levels of technology and movie making.
“What are you thinking, Ian?” Murphy asked as he walked into Ian’s office and placed his belongings on the table.
Ian sighed in despair as he had many scenarios running through his head. “You’re done preparing for the party? Is everything ready?” Ian asked.
“Yeah, we’re covering everything with the budget we have.”
“Why is the budget not enough? Raelynn didn’t say anything.”
Murphy immediately shook his head. “Oh no, sir. I believe it should be enough. The event planner is quite famous, even among celebrities. I heard he has hosted several great events, especially for Justin Loverman.”
“The pop singer?! When did this event happen?”
“Last 24th, sir.”
“Murphy, you should really pick one. Either sir or my name. I prefer the latter when we’re alone; it’s much more comfortable. Anyway, how are the preparations?”
“With the budget we were able to get several things. It sure as hell is going to be a luxurious and extravagant party. A lavish venue, top-tier caterers and bartenders, uhm…” Murphy paused and looked at the screen he was holding. “Everything is mentioned here. High-end entertainment such as live bands and DJs, a range of activities and amenities for the guests, custom decorations, high-quality lighting and sound systems, and other special touches. Oh wow, this guy truly has a way.”
Ian almost rolled his eyes, but controlled himself. “Not like we haven’t hosted parties before. Have my special guests RSVPed?”"
Murphy’s eyes widened at the question. The same day Ian decided to host the party, he had thought of inviting two important guests - well-known celebrities who were also people he wanted to meet badly. The whole meeting he had planned was connected to the pre-production of The Godfather.
“I almost forgot. Let me check,” Murphy quickly started to look through the guest list, checking who had RSVP'd and confirmed their acceptance of the invitation.
A look of relief washed over Murphy’s face when he realised what the screen informed him. “Yes, their attendance is confirmed. Both of them will be here.”
Ian smiled. “Thank you. Can you bring me a cup of coffee? I’ve been craving one since morning.”
“Sure will,” Murphy said and walked out of the room, a smile on his face that showed he had done his job as Ian’s assistant successfully so far.

As soon as Murphy left, Ian used search engines on the internet to look up the people he had invited. Both of them were people he had wanted to meet before but didn’t know existed. Seeing their profiles online shocked him more than he thought he needed.
Seeing the two profiles and how they were naturally friends, at least according to the internet, made him feel a bit better about the whole situation. “I’ll finally be meeting the well-known actors. Ah! The coffee is here!” Ian’s thoughts were interrupted when Murphy appeared with the coffee.
[At the Mansion]
“...Yeah, no, Niko. It’s not up to us to decide when and how these things are going to happen. Honestly, I even have no idea why Ian was being adamant about this party,” Rae said, looking at Niko who had an equally confused look on his face.
Both Rae and Niko were currently seated on the edge of their seats beside the bar, watching different men working hard to make the mansion look presentable for the party. Amidst all these workers, the two best friends found time to chat.
“Ian does weird things from time to time, and I can't help but say it makes him unique… but also interesting. If only he was gay, I’d have a chance for real-”
Raelynn swatted Niko’s hand.
“Even if he was gay, he’d have standards, Niko. Don’t overestimate yourself!”
Niko looked at Raelynn with a hurt expression. “That hurt more than the hit. Ow! They say heart wounds are eternal! Let’s see when you need my help!”
Niko said and walked away clutching his heart, dramatically showing the effect.
Raelynn chuckled and continued to look around her. It was full-on preparation for the event that was supposed to happen in two nights. Ian wanted to host the event as a seasonal thing, but he also wanted to announce his next projects, so people would be eagerly awaiting his next big decision. In addition to that, he wanted to invite several people to make acquaintances and invite people he had worked with before.
“Ma’am, here’s the floor plan for the night. What do you think?” A guy wearing pink lipstick and dressed fashionably approached Raelynn.
“No, I thought you changed the changes we discussed in the morning. The bar is better done here, and the DJ can use a little shift. Also, the lights - use more white tones at first. Make it neutral, but after the dance floor starts its magic or if people start dancing, we can change the colours.”
The guy sighed, looking at Rae. “Yes, ma’am. I’ll make the changes right now. Oh, and someone was waiting for you at the gate. I didn’t want to send her in without asking for permission.”
“Who is it?” Raelynn asked curiously.
The question hung in the air as everyone heard a loud glass-shattering noise.
“Where the fuck did it come from?” the event planner said loudly as everyone looked around at each other.
Around twenty to thirty people were working around the premises, and one woman had her broom hanging down from the stairs due to the shock that the noise had created.
It was as if the sound of a glass shattering loudly could still be heard.
“What was it? Valerie! Can you check what it was?!” Rae yelled loudly as Valerine replied from the maid’s wing of the mansion, “Sure! Give me a minute!”
After a few seconds, she came running.
“It’s from the front yard! C’mon!”
Everyone ran towards the front garden, where there was a huge chandelier made of glass, shattered into pieces on the floor. Glasses were everywhere, and it was a huge mess.
“What the f-”
“Please clean it up,” Rae said as everyone immediately started cleaning up.
From the corner of her eye, she saw a figure standing closer to the security’s building.
“Who are you?” Raelynn asked loudly and began walking closer.
At first, she couldn't recognize who it was, but as she walked closer, she saw who it was.
“Ah! How good is it to see you again!” she said and gave a huge smile that almost reached her ears.
