Weeks passed by.
During those weeks, several buzzes went around. The main hype was due to the whispers of the release of the movie, Kiara.
In the same movie, Ian acted as the lead, with Natalie being his co-lead.
Kiara was about true love. The director’s main intake was on how modern society perceived love when the majority didn’t even know how to receive or give love.
And Ian who gladly took the part, knew that if movies like Titanic didn’t exist in this world, a movie like Kiara should get the place it deserves.
Nevertheless, with other things, the rumours of the release of Kiara were going around.
“Ian, what if we dimmed the lights from the left side. As you can see, his right side appears to be more of… the character,” Joseph questioned.
Besides Joseph, Raelynn stood, looking at both Ian and Joseph.
“I would rather prefer to dim the right side of Leo’s face. Let’s focus on today’s scene. Where’s Angelina? Should she be here by now?” Ian asked as he hadn’t seen Angelina for quite a while.
“Oh, she should be here soon. She said she’ll be here soon,” Murphy replied.
Within the next few minutes, Angelina walked inside with a huge smile plastered on her face.
“Alright, to the make-up artists! And others! Start to get ready! We can’t waste our entire morning here,” Joseph said and everyone got back to their work.
-
The scene was of Kay and Micheal discussing his involvement in the family business. It showed the tension that was distributed among them.
“So, as I mentioned before, the tension should be pretty evident in your voice and your facial features. Angelina, you got this,” Ian said and looked around.
Everyone was prepared for the shot.
“Cameras!”
“Rolling!”
“Sound!”
“Set!”
“And… action!”
"Do you know how naive you sound, Michael? Presidents and senators don't have men killed,” Angelina questioned with concern on her face.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
"Oh. Who's being naive, Kay?"
Michael questioned back. Angelina’s eyes turned cold.
“Cut!” Ian cut them off shortly. “Angelina, you should be concerned. And take a look again at the script, you’re about to cry. You need to be vulnerable and insistent because you’ll cry eventually. So, I hope you can avoid the cold gaze?” he asked.
“Oh okay, sure I can. Let’s go again, right away!” Angelina said while looking at Ian and Joseph.
Joseph started giving the commands yet again.
“... Action!”
“Oh, who’s being naive, Kay?”
Getting to the character, Kay looked at Micheal with Concern. Her eyes solely focused on him.
Regardless of the multiple cameras and the big spotlight she was in, she continued to be in her role.
"Michael, is it true?"
"Don't ask me about my business, Kay."
With the next words, she became insistent.
"Is it true?"
"Don't ask me about my business."
Kay paused and decided to change the topic.
“Cut! Angelina, your expressions need to be sharper. It’s unclear,” Joseph stopped the shooting.
“Angelina, take the character to your head. Avoid thinking while you’re acting. The cameras catch every expression,” Ian explained.
“If she is inexperienced-”
“No, she is not. Her experience from her previous movies was exceptional. She’ll be better with time,” Ian said to Joseph.
“Let’s start once again!”
Joseph yelled.
The actors took their position and everyone prepared for another shot.
“...And Action!”
“Is it true?”
“Don’t ask about my business,” Michael replied.
"No, I guess I can't. But you have to know that it's all over the news, Michael. Everyone knows."
"Well, you tell me."
Kay looked at Micheal, searching for answers. Her eyes bored into his. With everything that was going around them, she still focused on him—very closely.
"You're the one who brought the news to me, Michael. How could you do this to me? To our child?"
"I'm sorry, Kay. You have to understand."
With that sentence, Kay started to cry. Regardless of her poor attempts in the previous scenes, this time, she actually burst into tears.
Her lips quivered. She looked at him.
"I understand. You're just like your father, Michael."
With that one sentence, Ian’s voice came after.
“Cut! That was a good shot! I like it, mind if we take a safe shot? Because I saw so much potential in that shot, I think we can do better,” he said.
Everyone agreed to his statement and started to shoot again.
-
“Alright, everyone. That’s a wrap for the day,” Ian said as he took his phone out to see who was ringing.
It was Brad Crutchfield. The director of Kiara.
“Hello, Mr. Crutchfield,” Ian answered.
- Ian, please. Call me Brad. How have you been?
“I was busy with shooting, what’s up? I’ve been hearing things around, Brad. I was about to call you, but here we are,” Ian said and sat back in his director's chair.
The people around him started to wrap their own things. Meanwhile, Ian was on his phone.
- It was about that actually, I’m thrilled to tell you the release date. But before that, we’d like to have you inside our premiere, just for the cast and the crew, you know, before we publicise any of it. And looking back, I realised how good of an actor you are.
Ian chuckled, “Thanks, Brad. I’m looking forward to watching what we have created. Do you mind telling me the date?”
- Oh yes, next Thursday. I sent an email to your assistant already, but I was excited to tell you this myself.
“Haha, that’s good. I’ll be there.”
- Well, it’s going to be a little interior event. But you’re allowed to bring a date. Bring Raelynn with you? I’m sure she’ll be excited to see your first premiere.
Ian nodded, “Yes. I will. Thank you for calling me, have a nice weekend.”
“Who was it?” Raelynn questioned sitting next to Ian.
“No one, I’ll surprise you with the news tonight. Also, Raelynn, talk me through the next camera settings, tomorrow’s scene is quite tacky,” Ian shifted the topic of the conversation.
“Well, yes….” She started explaining how she was planning to shoot the next scene.
