Three weeks later, Ian was ready to start the project.
With time, the hype for Kiara died down with the other things that were becoming popular in the industry. Because every time a new movie, series or programme by a famous artist gets popular, the hype for old news dies down.
Kiara quickly hit the numbers and died down with the same hype as an action movie that took over the news and the media. But there were still strings that made Kiara the talk of the town.
And Brad Crutchfield succeeded in what he wanted to achieve with the movie. He wanted to give a powerful message, and a trend of its own about true love was all over the internet.
Ian was reading a newsletter which had mentioned everything that was mentioned before. And it was Hollywood, even a sneeze would be in papers in bold.
He contemplated the last statement about how Brad had mentioned that he was glad that the advice he had to give was out among people.
And it was true. He got on the internet and searched the trends that were among people, and he found out that there were a lot of breakups that had happened.
‘If this continues, this movie deserves an Oscar,’ Ian thought to himself. Kiara hadn’t only changed lives, but it had also affected so many.
“Murphy-”
“I was thinking about the same thing, Ian. People are going crazy about love.”
“Hmm. I had the same thought. It’s important to know that people shouldn’t romanticise their lives. If it’s possible, ask Maxin to post a little something on Nwitter. Uh, I’ll talk to him, send him in.”
Murphy nodded.
“Anything more?”
“Bring me over the information of the actors I asked for,” Ian asked Murphy as he stood in front of Ian with his tablet.
Soon, Maxin walked in with his notepad and laptop.
“Ian, I was analysing the media reach with the team for the last month. We’ll increase the media visibility for the book launch very soon,” Maxin got right to the subject.
“Yes, that too. And uh, I’d like to post something.”
“I’m all ears.”

An hour later, Maxin and Ian discussed what they needed to show in the post. They had decided to show that relationships couldn’t be perfect, and could be vastly different than what shows in the media.
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
But in the end, Ian had his realisations confirmed about how far people go to follow celebrities.
With the file in his hand, he took a look at the actors that he had to choose among for the role of Luke Starwalker. But at the same time, in the back of his head, he knew that he was forgetting about something.
“... Jake, Richard, Danielle, Crude…” He read off the names from the file that was with him.
“What is it? What is it? Who am I… Mark Hamill!” After thinking too hard, he remembered who he had forgotten.
Mark Hamill existed in this world and he must be twenty-two years old by now. Although they had met before, Ian couldn’t help but think how it would be if Mark joined to play Luke Starwalker.
“Murphy, please come in,” He buzzed the intercom immediately. His adrenaline was pumping in his nerves.
“How could I’ve forgotten?! All this work is making me grow old… I can’t even remember things now?!” he blamed himself and stopped abruptly as Murphy walked in.
“What—What is it, sir?” he addressed him formally as he knew it must be something very important.
“Do you remember Mark Hamill, the actor who played Charlie Barber in 'Marriage Story'?” Ian questioned right away.
“Yes?”
“Please, arrange a meeting as soon as possible. Check if he’s free or if he’s handling a role right now, make an appointment,” Ian said and looked back at the file. “I won’t be needing this either.” He gave back the file which was filled with actors that he thought he’d consider for the role.
Murphy nodded, took the file and walked outside.
Ian couldn’t help but blame himself once again for forgetting that Mark Hamill was already here.
“Now, I’ve one more thing to do,” He said and smiled to himself.
In his office, he felt as if he was the king of his own kingdom. He could write and create things of his will. But he had much more important plans of his own.
He opened a new tab and started typing the actors and actresses who he knew would make it. Among them, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, and Natalie played the role that Natalie Portman played and several other actors were included.
Ian's thoughts were taken back by how great the series would be when people get to hear about it.
A space soap opera was what he thought would be the next big thing. Because in the industry, there were no other space soap operas. And with delivering a niche, Ian knew that he could make the people enjoy the series.
Probably more than how well it did in his previous world. Because in the previous world, Star Wars had it all. The box office numbers. Check. Cultural phenomenon. Check. Merchandising. Check. Expanded Universe. Check. Fan Community. Check. Critical Academia. Check.
Thus it achieved immense success in terms of commercial performance, cultural impact, and fan engagement.
Which was something Ian wanted to exceed in this world.
Murphy’s intercom buzz distracted Ian from the research he was doing about soap operas.
“Yes, Murphy?”
“Ian, we might have bad news.”
“Come in,” Ian said as soon as he heard the words, bad news.
Murphy walked in with the tablet in his hand. He handed it over to Ian and looked at him with curious eyes.
Ian took the tablet and saw the email reply that was from Mark’s Agent, Junior Richard—who was also a son of a famous director, Richard.
Nevertheless, Ian still remembered the man.
“Oh no, this can’t be good now, can it?”
Murphy agreed.
“What are we going to do?” Murphy asked.
“Well, I’ll be going to Korea then.”
