Without even wasting a day, the very next day Ian got into editing. For him, working even after an exhausting day with the shooting had become a normal thing to do ever since the first movie.
“I can’t believe we ended filming the movie. An entire movie, in a month… That’s crazy!” Raelynn said as she propped on the couch that was in the editing room.
In the room, there were only two more people other than her. Niko and Steffen Hudson, who was the editor in Renner Studio.
As he was the one who edited the first movie, Ian knew that they could handle the first few scene editing alone—without his help.
“That’s the thing with movies that Ian creates. They are unbelievably quick. A part of me knows the reason but-”
“What is it?” Raelynn asked back from Niko.
“What is what?” Niko asked back confusedly.
“The reason, dude. If I think about it, even Avatar and Marriage Story were quick to come up with the idea, and execute it. I don’t think a normal person could do it. Is Ian, special, maybe?” Raelynn asked with her big eyes looking at Niko.
Niko burst out laughing knowing her curiosity was valid and fair.
“No, well, the thing is. When Ian is set on an idea, he just goes on with it. Surprisingly, they work out. Although there was a little bit of here and there with the ideas, they somehow manage to exceed our expectations. And, to be honest, he is a director who genuinely knows what he wants, and what he thinks is the best for every idea he comes up with,” Niko explained and Raelynn nodded.
Steffen laughed knowing the moment of truth for Raelynn was relatively later than it was for him. Even he had the same doubt and worries. Even while editing, he was stunned by how Ian knows the right thing to do, and the right move to take.
Everyone turned silent as Ian walked inside the office room.
“We didn’t expect to see you here, Ian! Good morning!” Niko said and stood showing politeness.
“Yeah, I was about to leave y’all to it. But I felt like coming in to see how things were going on in here. But I have got a feeling that I’m not needed here,” Ian said and the little group laughed.
“Can’t deny,” Raelynn joked.
The editing started as they all started to watch the clips from the beginning. There were so many scenes that were just not ‘it’.

Three hours went by straight away with them just working. Even the four walls that they were surrounded by gave nothing but full-on working vibes.
“Oww, my back! We should get some rest!” Raelynn was the first one to complain.
“No kidding Rae, I sometimes think I’m hanging out with a grandma. Which sounds so much cooler than hanging out with you,” Niko said and Raelynn snorted.
“Only if Ian wasn’t here, I’d have known what to say,” she mimicked and stood up to prop herself back on the comfortable couch.
“I’ll bring some coffee, I know Ian can’t go without coffee,” Niko said and Ian mouthed, ‘thanks’.
The next second, the focus was broken by Steffen’s angry phone.
“It’s my wife, be right back guys,” he said and walked out of the room leaving Raelynn and Ian to themselves.
The environment became bothersome for Raelynn within a matter of a second. It wasn’t due to how chilly the air conditioner was on, but because she was with the one and only Ian Renner.
“Raelynn,” he addressed her as she almost jumped from her seat.
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
“Yeah?” her voice was calm, although her heart was beating faster than anything that she ever came across.
“Thank you. I appreciate what you did for my birthday,” Ian said and chuckled. Raelynn raised her eyebrows.
“You’re welcome. To be honest, I had this crazy idea of throwing a huge party, but I just couldn’t find a good place, nor I had time to arrange any of that sort,” she said and smiled.
“The cake was tasty. I hadn’t celebrated my birthday in years, so I appreciate it,”
“No problemo, it’s all good. Let’s hit the bar tonight. Are you in?” Raelynn asked back.
“Count me in,” Ian said.
“Ah, she wants me to bring take out when I’m getting home. These ladies,” Steffen invited himself in and walked back to his seat.

[Mason’s office - Renner Studio]
The seventh hour of the day was no easy than the first. Ian was exhausted to the core, after watching clips over and over.
“Editing must be the most tiresome part,” Ian mumbled as he put his head in his hands, and shook his head to get rid of the raging ache.
“Is it because you’ve to deal with a screen instead of people? Or is it because you’re simply born to direct but not work in the editing process?” Mason said and continued to do whatever he was busy doing on his laptop.
Seconds passed to minutes, and Ian finally gained some clarity in his head. The pain was subsidized due to how he was away from the screen.
“What in the world, Ian? You didn’t even tell me about this?” Mason said while Ian raised his eyebrows in question.
“Huh? What are you talking about, uncle?” Ian asked wanting to know what he was on about before Ian himself gets to conclusions.
| IAN RENNER—THE STREET RACER; COVER BLOWN?
The well-known Oscar-winning director, Ian Renner was found street racing weeks ago, away from Los Angeles, where his mansion is situated.
[Pictures of Ian with a small trophy and an envelope. His hair ruffled for how tiring the night was. His eyes looked Deadshot. But his smile explained an entirely different version]
Ian Renner was first introduced to the industry as a director of a children's Christmas movie, Home Alone. But then, he continued to climb up his way in the industry, taking so many people by surprise for how exemplary his movies were.
Although career-wise, the young director showed a lot of skills and talents towards everyone, his personal life is known as a ‘mess’. Starting from how two years ago, at first, he was accused of racism, then he was proved false. Then, there were several disgraces of him sleeping with actresses who work in his movies.
Without proving true or false the latter accusations, the director went on in his journey and released several movies that hit big numbers at the box office.
After a few silent weeks, Ian Renner was accused of having a kid—which was quite not a surprise for anyone considering how many women he had known to have slept with. The photographs that were taken in the Red Cord street racing club show how Ian Renner blow the steam off.
Who could condemn him?
It was also reported that the young director was caught by the cops of LA not soon after 1 in the morning. The allegations prove how he was bailed out of jail, and all of it had to do something with a politician.
What is the truth behind the politician and the director? We are yet to find it.

“You were caught?”
“Uncle, why do you think I’d call you at 1 in the morning? And yes, this is all true.”
Ian’s face showed no hesitation. He leaned back in his chair after turning the laptop screen towards the old man who sat with a confused look.
“I have no problem with this, but the ending is a little bit conflicting. Ian, your image affects your career a lot, and I hope you know it by now,” Mason said in a warning tone–which was rather serious for Ian to straighten up in his chair.
“I know it by now uncle, it’s nothing to not know after going through hell and heaven in the industry. I’m pretty sure there are yet more people behind the spread of dirt. But I’d not address it for now,” Ian said and took a brief pause and continued. “I guess it’s the time to step up on the game.”
“What are you on about?”
“Nothing much, there’s just a lot more to do. What have you thought about the OTT platform?” Ian asked back completely avoiding his question.
“I’m still researching. Don’t worry, I’ll reply with the best solution for you.”
In Ian’s mind, he was thinking that he needed more things to back him up in situations like this. More power.
If Christopher could get him out of the jail, he wanted more to avoid the word spreading. And what ‘more’ he needed was the power of media. If he could own a channel chain of his own, it would also mean that it could benefit him in multiple ways.
“What are you thinking Ian?” Mason asked noticing the silence that spread between them.
“Hmm… Nothing much, but I just realized I have a lot to think about.”
Ian said and walked out of the office room with a nod which Mason approved.
‘Whatever the young man thinks of doing, is for his own good, he thought and smiled to himself.
