[A FEW WEEKS AFTER]

After Ian’s final appearance for the Fast and the Furious in the Late Night show, his studio got busy with things that probably could become the next big things that were being produced by Ian and Renner Studios.

In a way, just as how people in social media and Nwitter were exclaiming, Ian truly is someone who brings out the best even in simple movie themes and ideas. What made everyone look up to him was how the quality of the movie and the way of projecting the story in front of the camera had increased in the first movie he released after his huge vacation.

To make things much better, in his perspective and others, the Fast and the Furious had been nominated for around seven awards in the AMFs—American Movie Fanatic awards.

The first thought of the entire crew was; “NO WAY!”, but then after seeing the responses from the media and the responses from people, everyone had no option but to believe that they totally deserve the nominations.

The competitions they’re up against are celebratory considering how good they’re. Nevertheless, just as the majority of the teammates were happy and excited about the news, they all knew every single person who participated in the movie had to do something the win.

Ian’s first thought after that was that he needs to do more of it—more of it to create and continue the happiness he was experiencing with the team. He started working on John Wick right after he collected the actors he wanted to work with.

It didn’t take long considering RedBo had more than 75% of the top actors and actresses signed up in their agency. With the deal that they’ve followed through, it was quick and easy for Ian to get the actors and the actresses that he wanted.

With that, John and Ian's straightaway started working on John Wick.

[Back in the day—John and Ian @Renner Studios]

“...Keanu Reeves? Are you sure about your choice, Ian, the main lead, decided everything, and if I didn't know any better I’d doubt your choice with who’s going to be the lead… Keanu, he hasn’t even acted in more than a single movie, and you-” John said to Ian while leaning in front of the table.

“Chill down, John. I know you’re very cautious as this could be the only movie you’re going to make, but I’ve got to say that, it’s not going to be a problem—-the lead. And John, you know what, as I said, I’ve finalized the cast without a problem and….” Ian took a deep breath before explaining,

“I don’t want to come off as, you know, a bit of an asshole. But the cast would not change.”

John chuckled at his serious tone of Ian. “Gosh, alright. Alright. I mean, I was just trying to make sure we have got the right people to work on this movie as it is, truly… Something, you know. So original, and totally worth the time I’m investing in this. And much to my happiness and luck, the usual actors and actresses I choose are totally worth the recruitment. So, let me handle it, and you can focus more on the movie…” He brought the cup of coffee to his lips and took a long sip.

“Well, then. It’s settled. Tomorrow I’ll meet you there.”

John said and stood up smiling at Ian.

“Okay, so everyone, listen up… The stunt team to the crew, I hope everyone is here, and I want to make this very special. Not only do we’ve to create a piece of work that so many people are already loving, but we’ve to live up to the first Batman movie. I also would like to make this an opportunity to say that the journey and the progress can be quite tricky. Due to that, I’d advise everyone to stay intact with therapy. I’m not joking.

“As we all know, Batman does have a dark theme going on, and with characters like Joker, mental health can be triggered pretty easily. So, before anything, I’d like to ask everyone to keep a very close eye on your mental health because the period to come can be quite tricky.

“At the same time, I’d like everyone to say, enjoy. That’s it, are we in? After we discuss the technicalities, we can go ahead to start the shooting. I also need the team who is in charge of the music to talk to me after this….”

The meeting went on with Raelynn explaining everything she knew about Batman: The Dark Knight.

After the discussion on what Raelynn needed with the movie, and what she wanted to achieve while shooting, the talking time for Raelynn ended with the question round.

“...And I’d also like to ask more about the character of Joker? I heard Ms. Sawyer selected Freddy Hawkings for the character… May we know why?” one of the board members questioned.

Raelynn nodded with a smile. “Of course, you may. So, this character is new, fresh, and to be honest, someone that I see really differently. Jack—Jack Napier, in my view, is like a clown figure, benign but wicked, maybe a killer old uncle. He can be funny and make you laugh. Freddy has to go in a completely different direction to be Jack, he's like a really scary psychopath. He's a lovely guy and his Joker is going to be a hell of a revelation in this picture. And the actor that came to my mind first was Freddy. Surprisingly. Sir Ian had the same view on this matter as me.”

Raelynn took a moment to explain what she had to do. Their relationship wasn’t public yet, but some people from the office knew it, considering one glance was all it would take for anyone to realize how and who they were to each other. Nevertheless, she called Ian, ‘Sir’ in the thought of giving the director and the CEO of the studio the respect he deserves.

“Freddy’s performance in Psycho, the movie that was released last year, is phenomenal. And in all due respect, the cast that we’ve chosen has been finalized and no more adjustments would be made. Are we clear on that?” She asked loud enough for everyone to hear.

The meeting got dismissed right after leaving Raelynn and Niko in the room.

“What did you think when you were asking me to stay? I just took the editor position, and here I'm already trying to help you out with directing. I should’ve just stayed in the cinema-”

“Alright, you can stop it right there. Before you say anything further, I just wanted moral support. And you got to see the guy from the camera crew already. So, it’s a win-win,” Rae said with a wink.

“What do you mean see James? I already see plenty of him, Gosh, Rae. But yeah, he was cute when he was focusing on you too much,” Niko said with a slight smirk. After a while, he put his hands above his head and widened his eyes. “I have Keith, nice mental note—fucking late”

“And now, you’ve mastered the degree of self-talk. Congratulations. Ah, what do you think about the name, The Dark Knight? And you know what,” Rae said and walked around to sit in front of Niko who was already typing on his phone.

“What?” he asked back.

“Ian has a good way with names. Like, normally… Directors and writers go for a long tough journey when it comes to names… But Ian, he’s like this man with everything according to how he wants. He writes a script, and the next thing you know, he has the name and everyone he wants starts to read it. It’s just… Amazing,” she said in bewilderment.

“I thought we’re way past this, Rae. This is old news, we’ve seen him in action. So what more can you expect?” Niko said and rolled his eyes.

“I think the name…. The Dark Knight is extracted so that it would make a definitive statement about the character of Batman. What do you think?” She asked back.

“That, you need to stop finding the mysteries of a movie that you haven’t even started to make. Get to work, chop chop!”

With that, Raelynn went back to work.

There were a lot of things that she hadn’t known about the movie.

Ian had to thoroughly think and give every detail possible that was needed to complete the movie to Raelynn. But something that he too knew was that, no matter how hard he tried to recreate the same movie, Rae would have her own touch and creativity freedom that he wouldn’t be able to take away with all the pointers.

So with cautious words, he gave everything possible and left the rest up to her—trust played a major role in what he did, nevertheless, they both were satisfied by how things were going.
