Chapter 218 | Finally....?

[Finally!]

“.....AND, ACTION!”

Freddy got into the role as soon as he heard the command come out of Raelynn’s mouth. The entire acting crew was waiting for her command, and as soon as it came, they all started to do their own thing.

But at the moment, the entire focus was solely on Freddy, as it was his shot.

“At midnight, I blow you all up. If, however, one of you presses the button, I'll let that boat live. You choose. So who's it going to be Harvey Dent's most wanted scumbag collection... or the sweet innocent civilians? Oh, and you might want to decide quickly, because the people on the other boat may not be quite so noble.”

He repeated his dialogues with much intensity to his actions. He was feeling great about how he was performing.

“CUT! No, after the word, civilians, I’d like to see a small pause. Show me what you’re feeling, Joker. Let’s take it again!” Raelynn gave no break as she started taking the scene again.

The entire set was working hard and strong. The cameramen had dedicatedly worked on the angles of taking the shots, and when the shooting was ongoing everyone had a pin drop silence in the set.

There were also people waiting for directions under Raelynn. Some of them were the lighting crew, the make-up team, and the sound team.

Little by little the scene walked towards perfection.

“How about we all take five? Miranda, I want to talk about the settings for the next scene. I'm trying to change something, do you think it’d be possible?” she asked the lady who had her tablet in her hand.

“Yeah, okay, tell…!”

“The intensity of the lights must be dimmer, and as for the sound…..” Raelynn explained how she wanted the next scene to be.

Within minutes she was done and Miranda’s back was facing Raelynn as the former kept explaining what Raelynn was up to to the cast and the crew.

“Raelynn, can we talk?” Freddy came walking towards her with a big smile on his face.

The make-up has gone now. It was a matter of what Freddy is more comfortable with.

“Yeah, sure. Please, have a seat. What’s up?” Raelynn asked as soon as he sat in the chair in front of her.

“I wanted to thank you and-”

“You’re welcome. How are you feeling now?” Raelynn cut him off shortly and asked.

It wasn’t that she didn’t appreciate the thank, but it was simply for how she knew that Freddy’s mental health could’ve gone worse. But luckily, the actor listened to her and his therapist right after they had a group meeting and discussed how he should be living for the next couple of months.

“So much better. Well, I guess that’s it then. I should head back,” Freddy shrugged and stood up. He, as the joker had so many responsibilities in the movie, and screwing up his mental health would be the last thing that anyone would want to be associated with the movie.

Considering how he had a prominent role in the movie, as well as a prominent place in everyone who acted along with him, he couldn’t afford chances to get a negative turn in relation to his mental health.

What concerned him the most about the same factor that's been ongoing ever since they started to shoot the movie was how even Ian—the scriptwriter and the person who handed over the directing responsibility to Raelynn was worried about Freddy’s mental health.

It was almost as if Ian had known things would turn ugly if Freddy kept things without sharing. Somehow, everything turned out pretty well as the director, and the cast was more than helpful in knowing certain things about the movie that could and would trigger him.

“Alright, how about we start things now?” Raelynn’s voice came after a while of Freddy walking away from her.

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

It was almost as if she had taken her sweet time to process her own thoughts just like Freddy did.

“READY!” His voice came out louder than he expected, nevertheless, she got his message.

“Okay, we’re going in five minutes, dress him up again!”

“Copied!”

“I also want these two people dressed up as well! Ah, don’t put it there, come on! What if the coffee cups fell off? It would be ruined!”

“Oh my God! I said I want them today! Without them, how are we going to get the angle? Where are the spare brushes?”

“Give us five more minutes!”

The sounds of the crew saying things to each other made everyone grow conscious. It was the normal chaos that starts whenever Raelynn prep for the next shot.

The environment was getting more intense with every second. The only fear they all shared was the one that said, would this be enough? Am I missing something? Or Would it be okay?

“Are we ready? Everyone?!” Raelynn yelled.

-

Raelynn Sawyer is one of a kind. Inside-out, she has always been someone out of the box, and someone who’d always do things that everyone told her that she can’t.

She lost her parents, just like someone she knew did, and ever since back then, things have been black and white—with her trying to color all the moments that she spent with everyone with memories.

Nevertheless, she had never wanted nor asked for the pity of anyone regarding anything that ever happened to her. This is also why, since the day she had her foot outside her house, she decided she’d do everything out of her talent just so she’d be able to make a living out of it.

With her luck and qualifications playing a big part in her life, she climbed the ladder, and now right now she was in a position that only she’d have been able to dream about if it wasn't for Ian.

As some legends say, sometimes good things knock on the doors of good people.

“...I can’t believe this is coming to an end,” Raelynn said with a huge sigh, looking at Niko who had just walked inside the set.

“What do you mean? You’ve been dreading this day. Like, for real, all you’ve done is continue to keep saying how much you’ve missed your free time. And not to mention, Rayray. You’ve been going on and on about how much you miss your sleep. So, are you still sure that you can’t believe this is coming to an end?” Niko asked while imitating her behavior.

She hadn’t thought about it like that. Within the months that she had spent trying to work things out in the set, she forgot everything she had been missing. And there was a point where she thought, how much of a stressful job is making a movie.

“I know, and it’s just, I forgot everything for a while. Anyway, we still have a few more weeks to go. After that, everything would be fine and worth the fucking wait. Where’s Christian Bale? We have got the next shot with him…”

“He must be getting ready. Don’t worry, you’ve Ian’s abs to worry about, the movie and everything would simply come together!” Niko said, chuckling and winking while Raelynn’s mouth opened wide at what he had just said.

“You’re so dead! What’s keeping me from punching you is that I’m supposed to be the mature one for once and for all,” Raelynn rolled her eyes and went back to her work.

“So mature…” Niko mocked her and walked away.

-

“Okay…. Sound?!”

“SET!”

“Lights?!”

“SET!”

“CAMERA ROLLING?!”

“ROLLING!”

“ACTION!!”

Batman gestures towards the view of the ferries. On the set, it was not Christian Bale who was acting, it was truly Bruce Wayne. Inside out, the man had become the truest form of Batman.

“We have clear shots on five clowns. Snipers take them out, smash the windows- a team rappels in, a team moves in by the stairwells. 2 or 3 or three casualties, max.” The SWAT leader explained.

From the faraway shot, the actor who was doing the part of Gordon hesitated.

“Let's do it,” he said.

“It's not that simple. With the Joker, it never is,” Batman said with much certainty in his voice.

“What's simple is that every second we don't take him, those people on the ferries get closer to blowing each other up! 123,” Gordon worded out.

“That won't happen,” it was Batman.

“Then he'll blow them both up! There's no time- we have to go in now,” Gordon said looking around and with a strict expression.

“There's always a catch with him,” Batman said.

“That's why we can't wait- we can't play his games,” Gordon said but Batman turned.

“I need five minutes. Alone,”

Gordon who listened to Batman said further, “No. There's no time. We have clear shots. Gordon pulls his gun. Batman turns back. The SWATS watch.”

“CUT! I need more depth to your words… The same mysterious vibes, I want them more. Let’s try again! This time, look in the opposite direction you looked, Bale. Are we ready?” Raelynn asked, looking at him, who nodded agreeing to her words.

“Let’s try again!” The actor who was acting as the swat agent said it loud enough for everyone to hear.

With a few cheers, the shooting started again.
