Epilogue

Three years since the rebuilding of New Terra...

The Metropolis of New Terra, now one of the three cities on the colony of Asta has been rebuilt better than ever.

The Hero’s League, once the go-to force for peace and protection, has disbanded, allowing the Samaritan Protection Act to take over in its place.

Allowing citizens to work with police to solve crimes, the heroes of New Terra take a role of volunteering, allowing them to work and help their fellow man without being subjected to attacks of a personal nature.

The police now supports its ability to protect its citizens with the enhanced, the new term for those who help with volunteer work.

But that’s only for those who work within the law.

A group of vigilante’s dubbed the Silent Watch, work behind the laws of New Terra to take down threats of a more sinister nature.

Choosing to use their powers to protect those they care for in the shadows, this group gives both headaches and trouble to the Police Force and Villains alike.

It’s said that the leader of the hidden organization, ‘Livewire’ has already apprehended more than five different supervillains of notable notoriety.

Some claim she is the Hero that saved New Terra in the past, disappearing into the shadows to continue her work.

Others say she was someone who wore the moniker, adopting it after hearing of the sacrifices the original made.

One thing is clear however.

None know the true motives of the Silent Watch, and their work, while accepted by the general populace, is still outside the law.

“Aden! The show's about to start!”

“I’m coming!”

Rushing past the line and making his way to the arena, Aden picked out the spot which sported his name on it.

It was always reserved, especially for this show.

Aden sat down near the front of the aquarium as he put his stuff in a water-tight pack his wife gave him.

Though he knew it was her way of getting his attention, he always wondered why she told him to ‘sit in the splash zone’?

She still wants to see me, even when she’s got all these other people here to see her show.

He smiled despite his grumbling.

She does look pretty hot in that suit though.

“Hey, Aden!”

Aden turned to see his wife’s sister sit next to him, an umbrella in her hand.

“Crysa, nice to see you here.”

She pushed his shoulder, “now try to say it like you mean it, jackass.”

Aden smiled, “that would require effort, fresh out, I'm afraid.”

“I take it back, you’re a jerkass.”

Despite her crude humor, Aden couldn’t feel any heat behind her words.

“Come to finally see the show eh?”

Crysa shrugged, “I dunno, it’s a nice way to spend the afternoon I guess.”

Aden smirked, “you could just say you wanted to see her too.”

The ex-villainess pulled out her umbrella to block on the sun, and to poke his head with one of the divots.

“Shut up and cheer for my sister.”

“Can do.”

Aden smiled as Aura showed up on the stage, her hair pulled back in a ponytail as she spoke over the crowd to get their attention. Her suit was black and white with the accents of an orca, and her teeth shined in the sunlight as she smiled wide for the crowd.

And to him.

“Hey everyone! It's a scorcher today, yeah?!”

The kids and adults in the audience shouted in agreement, the screams carrying a high pitch in the bleachers.

“I’ll say, why don’t we do something about that, eh?”

Aura raised her hands as the water churned underneath her, raising into the sky in the form of dolphins, sharks, and other various sea life.

Smiling evilly, she sent the projections into the crowd, letting the dolphins flick water with their tails while the sharks went around and ‘bit’ the heads of the few people who ‘boo’d.

One such dolphin came to kiss him with its bill, after flicking some water on his shirt and shorts.

Aden smiled at his wife as she winked at him, turning evilly towards Crysa.

“Well everyone, it seems my dear husband and sister decided to stop by. What should we do?”

“Spray her!”

“Dunk him!’

“BOTH!”

She made a motion to cup her ear so she could hear them better, the crowd getting louder and louder as they agreed on both.

Crysa tried to run, but Aden grabbed hold of her, keeping her seated.

“Oh come on Aden, this dress retains water too well, I’ll be soaked!”

“Let her have this, you guys haven't talked in a while.”

Crysa made a fake sobbing motion, “she’s so vindictive.”

“I wonder where she got that from.”

Crysa had just enough time to glare at him before they both got splashed by a tidal wave.

“Sector 2-D in the port district is showing signs of a potential smuggling ring, and another damn fight club. Seriously, how many of these illegal things keep popping up?!”

Technowolf, or Gideon, grinded his teeth as he typed away on his computer, a wave of details and insight rushing towards him as he sent his new and improved Peace-Keep-Rs to intercept the illegal operation.

“Our work is never without its monotony, pupil, but it needs to be done regardless.”

Gideon scowled as he turned to his ‘boss’, “I don’t see you doing anything of import, master.”

His master smirked at him as one of her various ‘friends' glowered at him with its red iris camera lens.

“And that is why you are stuck with this bitch work, my pupil. You need to open your mind more to handle more tasks, to be ready to be taught. Your gift is a grand thing, but your mind is too saturated with false greatness. Learn, and you’ll do important work.”

Gideon sighed, “yeah, yeah. But for all that is holy why-”

He felt a ping from his ability as his Peace-Keep-R’s found the place, preparing to engage.

The hired goons that this place employed didn’t stand a chance.

His leader, PK-01, was an intelligent sapient robot built by him and his master, one of the best operatives that the Silent Watch had available.

As such, he didn’t need much direction, only updates when new variables arrived.

“PK-01 you’ve got a category silver heading your way according to the cameras. Electrical gauntlets. Make sure you activate your insulation gear to get the best effect.”

PK-01 gave a thumbs up to the camera that Gideon was watching, letting him know he got the message.

“Pk-02 and 03, you guys have the hard part. The mainframe we need is located in the office, and it's very possible that the man behind this is there. Shoot to stun, and capture. If you can't, you are authorized to kill.”

PK-02 and PK-03 were his models, built from the ground up to work as a team.

PK-02 was a spherical droid with a pulse cannon and treads to climb walls with, while PK-03 was a heavy bot with quad legs, splicer gear, and four mini cannons dotted on each of his legs.

02 would climb walls to get vantage shots, while 03 would tank the hits from the heavier enhanced or armored fighters.

So far, they worked very well together.

But this would be their hardest challenge, as the boss of this place was said to be an enhanced mutation, one that was natural born and not built from the Teras’ emon serum.

There was no telling what his power was until they engaged.

Gideon grabbed a potato chip and ate it as his fingers danced.

I will prove that I am worthy, I won’t be a tool again.

A massive laboratory overlooked the sea, sealed up with glass that looked so clear that it was almost indistinguishable from the outside.

The beakers foamed with various strains and liquids, the machines whirred to life as they took their readings and copied their data.

On the only chair in the entire room, was Sarah Bockman as she stared intently at the flora in front of her.

It was a hybrid plant she had created, one that would allow pineapples to grow on a tree.

She smiled as it already had a few tiny fruits growing from its bulbs,

Normally such plants would be ground bound, and would grow into the soil.

Not these though.

They would grow on the branches of this massive tree, which would twist and turn to spread its pineapples as far as it could from its own location.

Nature's self growing pineapple tree forest.

“Meghan’s going to get a kick out of this when she sees it.”

Sarah imagined the look on her friend turned robot, incredulity followed by surprise and hunger.

Knowing her, she’d want to turn it into a cyborg too.

Sarah sighed as she set aside her little seedling, taking a look at a picture next to her desk.

It was a simple thing, with Chimera, Aden, and Meghan showing off the first Botty, the little green lens robot with its stubby legs.

Sarah smiled, even as a tiny pain echoed in her chest at the bright smile of Chimera.

We miss you, you know?

Sarah sniffled a bit as she grabbed some pineapple juice, taking a big drink of it as she went back to work.

“Pym…”

“I’m serious.”

“Are… you sure?”

Pym didn’t wait for Lark to hear a response, and kissed the girl across the lips.

It was sudden, full of electricity, and passion.

And a little sloppy.

Still Pym felt that she finally got her feelings across as Lark stared at her in a dazed state.

“I want to be with you Lark, and i know that you used to be with Chi-”

“Don’t, this isn’t about her, it's about you and me.”

Pym felt her heart jump at that, and practically melted when Lark smiled back at her.

They both took hold of each other's hands.

As they kicked a super villainess in the face.

“AUHgh!”

The dread Moa-Viper, a new mutation type of super villainess flew backward as she landed on a patch of ice, growing lethargic by the second.

“Curse…you…. Both…”

With a drop, the cold-blooded villain toppled into slumber, allowing the two ‘volunteers’ to round her up just as their police liaison Nira arrived.

To find them both kissing.

“Ugh, both of you stop contaminating the crime scene and get a room!”

“Now officer,”

Another person with a monocle and a distinct suit tailored to him walked up to tap her shoulder.

However, his longer face and tail coupled with his larger ears made him out to be a Rice, one of the newer species of New Terrans to have joined the humans.

“Nothing wrong with finding love on the battlefield. They’ve done their jobs, now let's begin ours.”

“Barrington, you haven’t worked with these bozos like I have, so you don’t know. They flirt all the fucking time!”

“Perhaps if you give it no attention, they will bore themselves and move on?”

Lark smirked at them, “he’s right you know?”

Pym smiled, “half of it is to bug you, Nira.”

Nira held a hand on her pistol, “oh if only bullets worked on you two.”

The last straw was when Pym and Lark stuck their tongue’s out at the officer, resulting in a court hearing about why there were multiple bullet holes at the crime scene despite there being no weapon.

It was a long month for Nira.

In space…

A wreckage floated around aimlessly, the last trajectory sent in hurling into an asteroid, which only bounced off of it to fly off in another direction.

The metals, devices and equipment were sheared off with time, micro meteors, and other things the vessel ran into.

All that was left after a while was a pod with a body inside of it.

The body of a clone.

However, it was not the body itself that was the most important bit.

For deep within the body of the clone was a benign being of immense power.

The sleeping creature, after having exploded, latched onto the closest host it could, the body of a familiar clone that shared some DNA with it.

However, it was so damaged by the explosion it caused that it could barely function for long.

So, it bonded with the body, slowly bringing it to life so that it may rebuild itself.

Originally, it was a being made of separate DNA sequences, brought together to create a monstrous weapon.

However, the power now slept within the creature, waiting for the day it would be rebuilt, and the host could live again.

For she was a Chimera, a being made of many into one whole.

And she was no stranger to new experiences.

The End.
