Chapter 65 You're so Radical, Fanatical.

Chapter 65 You're so Radical, Fanatical.

Sarah watched Chimera as she rushed down the hallway, making sure that she turned the corner before she made her way towards the left corridor.

To any other observer, it would look like she was imitating a robot.

She walked slowly, deliberately, and with jerky movements.

Damnit!

She could feel the strain on her mind as she was walking down the corridor.

It was as if someone placed a heavy weight over her movements, and the path of least resistance was going in this direction.

Each moment she wrestled with the feeling, it came down harder and harder, trying its best to force her to go down a certain path.

“Stop fighting me Sarah!”

FUCK YOU!

The tug of war that was currently going on in Sarah’s mind forced her to tell Chimera to head in the right direction, despite knowing that Sarah had a good feeling that her brother was down the left corridor.

The Image of her mother’s face was the catalyst.

As she thought about her family, Sarah felt the weight come down over her mind, like a lead blanket trying to block her off from everyone around her.

Her mouth moved to say words she didn’t mean, her movements were arrested and would not obey her easily.

She was still herself, only trapped.

So she resisted.

Sarah tugged on her body, pushing against the restraints of control that forced her to jerkily move towards a set of double doors with a glass sheen.

It worked sometimes, and Sarah could feel the control sleeping whenever she forced a movement to obey.

It would come back, but weaker each time.

“You. Will. OBEY!”

“Ain’t happening! BITCH!”

Sarah of course recognized the voice of her old boss trying to worm its way into her thoughts.

Like a nagging child, or a squawking bird, Sarah could feel Monica trying to distract her enough to allow her to weasel into Sarah’s brain and lock it down.

However, Sarah was very good at drowning out bullshit.

After all, it came with her old job as a scientist, blocking out the complaints from the other departments in her office.

Nagging about this beaker being used, or that computer not being in the right lab.

Sarah tuned it all out, just like she was doing now.

“God she’s annoying, but that’s for later. Gotta. Break. This. Control!”

After realizing what must be going on, Sarah first tried to probe her mind for something that could explain the puppeteering.

And she got her answer almost immediately as she felt the nerve endings in her body suddenly spark and jolt her human body forward.

Oh… she’s hijacking the nerves themselves… but what if I…

Sarah destroyed the nerve endings.

She destroyed her spine and the neuronal tissue.

She got rid of her own brain.

And turned completely into a blob.

As soon as she shifted, she could feel the outrage and fury from the connection between her and Monica.

She couldn’t help but smile as it disappeared, no longer able to hold onto her thoughts with nothing to piggyback off of.

Rest in Piss you prissy Bitch, you won’t be missed.

Now in front of the doors, Sarah moved through not the doors themselves, but the convenient air duct that was just above the hallway that led to the room.

Fitting snuggly inside, she followed the duct and its pathways as she found herself now inside the room Monica was trying to lead her too.

“No!”

Sarah felt a pain in her heart as she stared at the scene before her, unable to pry her eyes away.

She saw her brother Aden, sprawled out on a table, his body stabbed with various tubes and syringes with little regard on how they laid in his flesh.

A small woman seemed to be the one administering the syringes, each filled with their own coloful liquids that only seemed to cause her brother to shout in agony.

His body was ripped open, held exposed by medical equipment and sutures.

Sarah believed it had to be a miracle that her brother was able to heal through such trauma, but the heartless wench stabbing him over and over again, not even bothering to inject the serum, cried out in frustration.

This drew Sarah’s attention as she moved to listen in, all the while moving closer to her brother.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

“WHY?! Why isn’t it working? Why are you able to resist the R Series injections?! It doesn’t make any sense!”

Sarah felt her heart lurch as her brother was stabbed again, this time the injection forcing itself into his body.

It caused her brother discomfort at first, writhing under his flesh like a fish that was sewn under the skin.

But just as it started, it soon slowed down, until a dripping of the liquid started flowing from his hands, the same color as the serum.

“DAMNIT! This wasn’t supposed to happen! You freak!”

The small woman paced back and forth, and it took all of Sarah’s skill to appear as though she was the liquid that had fallen on the floor.

“The study should have turned you into a jibbering beast, which would have given the mistress what she needed to control that thing! Instead, you foolishly healed through the R series, which should have been impossible!|

The woman stopped, “It… couldn’t really be Crimson R…”

Her brother coughed as he started to laugh.

“That shit about being our sister was bullshit… but I got a real sister who helped me out. Your dime store poison isn’t going to work.”

The woman screeched as she through a tray of disgusting looking needles at him, some even sticking to his skin.

“Moron, Imbecile, FOOL! The R series is supposed to morph bodies into Huma! The only way that it could fail on someone is if they already had been changed! You aren’t supposed to be one! The Plan… that plan is supposed to be foolproof!”

Sarah slowly inched towards the table, hiding underneath the cover slick with her brother’s blood.

“What do you even mean? What plan? You gonna torture people into your stupid Huma or whatever?!”

With her blob form Sarah could make out the movements around her as she moved slowly towards her brother's restraints, reaching a thin tendril to check the latches.

“Huma’s were meant to be the goddess’ chosen, while all the humans were to die from the Crimson R bioweapon, the one that your foolish sister was meant to become! Instead, she created Huma’s without the Goddess’ approval! She was supposed to be brought to heel but now… now you exist! Now there is a fool who will think he can go against Her!”

More noise and more destroyed equipment roused Sarah as she worked delicately to remove the latches under the medical sheet covering her brother’s body.

She also reached a tendril up to her brother’s ear, gently prodding it.

“Aden, are you alright?”

Sarah felt her brother move, but only so much to confirm that he could hear her.

“I’m speaking to you through your ear. I can get you out, but you got to distract her. Can you do it?”

“Yeah… hurry sis, this shit she’s shooting me up with hurts like hell!”

Sarah sent some reassurance into Aden’s body as she got to work, slowly but surely loosening the latches and restraints with her tendrils.

“Guess that Goddess of yours isn’t special then, if someone else can make Huma, right?”

Sarah felt a hiss of rage deep inside her as she felt her brother being smacked with a medical tray.

“Blasphemer! Do not compare my Goddess with your filthy mongrel failure of a sister! Monica will be the one to rule over Asta, and you and your meddling sister will be the monsters that the new world will fear, completely at her mercy!”

Sarah was just about to finish the last latch when what she heard next stopped her.

“I was uplifted by her grace, to serve her in all things!”

Wait…

Sarah began to recognize the voice of the smaller woman.

She worked through her memories as she tried to pinpoint where she might have…

AHA!

She’s one of the brainwashed scientists!

Sarah unhitched the last latch, rushing forward to grab the scientist with her tendrils.

“The Beast!”

Just as she latched onto the scientist, Sarah shoved two tendrils into the scientists mind, injecting a cocktail of sleeping agents and what some would call narcotics.

The look of peace on the scientist's face was all that she needed to confirm she was a non-combatant now.

“Aden, are you all set?”

Sarah turned around to see her brother holding his head.

“Shit… its like… Augh!”

Aden fell to the floor, resting on one knee as he held his head in pain

“Aden!”

“S-Stay back!”

Aden held out a hand as it came back to clench his skull, kneading it to try and relieve what appeared to be a massive headache.

“There’s… someone… trying to…”

“Fight it Aden, she uses your nerves to control your thoughts! Push her out!”

Her brother clenched his teeth as blood started to drip down his mouth.

Soon, he shook his head, seemingly past whatever tried to do something to him.

“Aden, are you alright?”

Aden turned to stare at her, “I don’t know, sis…”

He looked back at the table, “they injected all kinds of serums into me, claiming they were R series… whatever that meant. Some didn’t work, but I don’t know what they did to me.”

Aden looked at his hand, “for all I know, I might be controlled somehow.”

Sarah held out a tendril as she placed it on his body, over his heart.

“I… don’t see anything bad, which is amazing. Either way….”

Sarah stood up, “I’m so sorry.”

Aden brushed it off with a hand wave, “don’t worry about that now Sarah… we can talk about it later. Right now…”

Sarah witnessed her brother’s body swell for a moment, as translucent veins pumped red liquid over his body, healing his wounds and forcing out the needles onto the floor.

“Who do we get to ‘thank’ for my treatment?”

Sarah took one last look at the scientist as she walked with her brother towards Chimera’s trail.

“My old boss, I never did give her my resignation.”

“Let’s give her one she won’t ever forget then, yeah?”

She looked back at her brother, “you sure you’re up for this? I’m aiming to kill her, Aden.”

Aden nodded, “she killed a lot of people, and even some nice ratmen. If anyone deserves it, I’m willing to bet it’s her sis.”

Despite the idea, despite her instincts telling her that it wasn’t a good idea to bring him, Sarah nodded as she took Aden’s hand, dragging him along as she levitated them both off of the ground.

It made for a strange sight, as a young man was being pulled by a spinning gelatinous disk sparking with electrical energy zoomed passed the hallways.

Meanwhile, In Space.

Monica stared down at her screen as one of her puppets was taken down by her prodigal monster.

She tested the waters with Sarah, trying to see if her gifts would work, but it became clear that she shared the immunity that she, her mother and father had for Monica’s silver tongue.

Still she couldn’t help but smile as she watched them make way to her father, finally putting an end to the monster and his creations.

“Entertain me for a little more little Sarah, I wish to watch my father’s final moments in high definition.”

As if to the point she carried a bag of free floating popcorn, snacking on them with a juice pack .

Soon.
