Chapter 71 Team Chimera

Chapter 71 Team Chimera

A blast of psionic energy shot through the floor, destroying the cameras that Tiberius was using to watch the rather… interesting brawl.

It was rather incredible that she would go so far to augment herself, when the psychic abilities she possessed were already impressive on their own.

Still, to better oneself, to achieve perfection…

He smiled to himself as he started to notice the few things about his wayward daughter that were new.

Mainly, the similarities to her own experiment.

To think she would follow in my footsteps to the point of injecting herself with something as unstable as that creature. I suppose some part of me does exist within that head of hers.

He sighed as he saw his silent alarm flare, informing him that the failsafe to his hidden sanctum was destroyed, confirming that his children, and likely that boy Aden, had found him.

Luckily, his serums were complete.

“Engage the final solution protocols, and after you have completed them, self terminate. Code Brilliant Dawn.

“Confirmed. Engaging ‘Brilliant Dawn’.

Despite the closeness to his dream, Tiberius could not help but feel trepidation as he heard the noise of the approaching interlopers.

So close, he was seconds away from his dream.

“Flash freeze the doors, engage on my command.”

The room leading to his sanctum was a double wide door linked to a magnetic lock, which was supported by the energy draw from the laboratory. Ideally, it would deny a lower grade super strength Hero, but he knew that was wishful thinking when he perused the footage that showed Aden breaking through the first contingent with that brainwashed drone of a scientist.

That kind of strength would soon be his, but he knew that some door would not stop him for long.

Delay though…

“Serum complete, ready to be administered, Dr. Poxus.”

“Excellent, begin now!”

He tossed himself into his chair, allowing the machine to straighten and align his spine so that the needles settled between his vertebrae.

At the same time, the doors to his sanctum froze over, creating a thick layer of frost that enveloped the door, hinges and all.

The sound of them smashing against the door’s now frosty new addition made Poxus sigh with relief.

Up until the syringes settled against his skin.

Normally he would have used painkillers to give him some numb comfort, but time would not allow such things.

“For perfection… I must endure.”

He pressed the button along his chair, the machines whirring to life as the DNA curdled into the syringes.

Placing a piece of rubber in his mouth, Dr. Pox bit down on it just as the syringes plunged into his flesh.

Blinding, screaming pain enveloped him just as the interlopers arrived, the look of horror on their faces especially delicious to the mad scientist's eyes.

As the last of the DNA entered his body, Tiberius spat out the rubber, his face twisted into a familiar grin.

“Ahh, you’re all just in time! I was needing to experiment with my perfect body, and low and behold, a group of lab mice walked in!”

A wall of stone and cement sealed the interlopers within, and Poxus could not help but laugh as they foolishly prepared for battle.

Let them keep their hope, for a little while. It will be all the sweeter when it twists into despair!

“You think you can defeat me, don’t you Chimera?!”

Chimera side-stepped an attack as she shifted, her powers combining to create stone skin laced with spines, glass, and an assortment of different shredding material.

It turned Monica’s spear strike into a slicing garrote as the villainess’ arm was sliced by her own strike.

“AHH! BITCH!”

Don’t talk to her, don’t let her distract you.

Chimera continued to bob and weaved the strikes as Monica unleashed a flurry of different flamethrowers to cook her.

Stepping hard into the ground just as the last of the flames reached her, Chimera pulled on the water in the pipes below, spraying a pressure washer styled stream right into Monica’s face, causing the woman to gasp as she choked on the water.

“*cough* Araaghgh! Stop!”

But Chimera didn’t, she kept attacking Monica when she least expected, using the openings to blast Monica with blows and powers.

Whenever a piece of the villain dropped to the floor, Chimera would scoop it up and place it into her strange pseudo space, holding it there and preventing it from rejoing the hold.

She was noticeably getting smaller, as the mass that made up her body shifted and shrunk with each failed strike and counter attack.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

“W-What is happening?! This… this can’t be!”

Monica’s eyes betrayed a growing sense of panic, and Chimera only had a moment to jump ahead of her as she tried to reach the monster Monica that Sarah’s one story tall body was fighting.

It too was losing mass, and it seemed that despite them having their own fights…

Sarah was doing the same, gathering up the missing and disconnected pieces of Monica and capturing them inside her.

As Monica tried to combine with her other body, Chimera slammed the smaller version directly into Sarah, who absorbed the copy into her body.

“NOO-”

A moment is all it took before Sarah gave her a thumbs up, letting Chimera know she was detained within.

After that, the fight turned into a two vs. one, with Sarah knocking pieces of the Amalgamation apart, while Chimera ran around collecting the pieces and reabsorbing them into her growing Monica cage.

She felt the evil blob within try to eat her way out, but with a trick she had learned in her fight against Gideon, Chimera wrapped the blob with a layer of burning poison laced with the special T-cell destroyers she had used to help Aden overcome his Leukemia.

Basically, it was a prison filled with things that would kill her if she tried to escape.

Being the narcissistic person she was, Chimera knew there was no way the villain would off herself when she thought she might be able to escape.

You underestimated me Monica, just like you did Sarah.

As the Amalgamation started to shrink, it finally came down to a point where both Sarah and Chimera had enough of the pieces to bring down the villainess together.

Chimera grew to match Sarah’s size as the two of them braced across from the beast, who was starting to roar in frustration at the losing fight.

“WHY?!! YOU ARE INFERIOR, LESSER! HOW ARE YOU BEATING ME?!”

“Because,” Sarah pulled a fist back, launching the Amalgam towards Chimera, who unleashed her own punch.

“-You fought alone!”

“-And we.”

“Are a team!”

“‘So Get Fucked, Monica!”’

Punch after punch set off a chain combo that had Monica bouncing in the air, her monstrous form breaking apart, but never reaching the floor as it was readily absorbed by the two blobs.

Until finally, the two blob heroines tackled into each other, trapping the evil Monica within her bodies.

Sarah and Chimera both shrunk down as the fight that began so soon and so violently ended, leaving them both sitting on the floor panting.

“Huff* I… Can’t believe that worked.” Sarah said to the clone of herself.

Chimera smirked, “I… knew it would…”

“Liar… *breath*.”

“We… have a lot of space in us…it just made sense to trap her inside.”

Sarah chuckled, “more junk in our trunk… though I think we should… trash this bitch.”

Chimera nodded, grabbing a hold of Sarah as they combined their Monica pieces into one.

Who proceeded to scream at them.

“I am your creator, obey me!”

Chimera felt a ripple go over her, but the parts Monica tried to reach out to simply didn’t respond.

“Even if that was the case, you’re a shit mom, Monica.”

“Wha… no! This can’t be, you’re supposed to be subservient to me! What is happening?!”

Sarah took a tendril and stabbed it into the evil blob, causing the woman to yelp.

“W-What was that?!”

“Poison. You’re going to die from that.”

“Hah! Poison won’t work on me you fool! I’m a higher life form than the inferior human scum you were based off of! This won’t even tickle-”

Monica’s face twisted as Chimera noticed the purple serum started to slowly speckle over her features.

“That is the same poison that you gave my brother, that your father developed to use me as an experiment. Heavily modified so that even you can’t cure it with your DNA. I made sure to analyze it too, so Monica,”

Sarah loomed over the villainess in the mental scape they were in, casting a dark shadow over her features.

“This is for all the shit you put me through. For hurting my brother, for fucking with my memories, and for all those damn meetings you made me get coffee for.”

Sarah snarled as she stabbed the villainess with three more poisoned tendrils.

“I hope it hurts, you daughter of a bastard.”

Chimera held Sarah’s hand as they both watched Monica start to scream, the deadly bio-agent popping her blob flesh like she was on fire while also swimming in acid.

Chimera, despite agreeing with Sarah, wanted very much to not see what she was seeing right now.

It was that gruesome, and she made a silent promise to herself to never, ever, wish this kind of death on her worst enemy.

Even if Monica deserved every bit of it, no one should die like they were slowly on fire.

As the last of Monica burned away to nothing, Chimera nudged Sarah’s hand to get her attention, the young scientist never taking her eyes off of her old boss for a moment.

“She’s gone, Sarah.”

Sarah nodded.

“We still have to stop Pox.”

Again, she nodded.

“Are… you okay?”

Sarah finally turned to Chimera, her eyes brimmed with tears.

“It’s over… right? She’s dead for good…”

Chimera nodded, feeling no sign of the villainess anywhere around them, or within them.

Sarah blinked away her tears, wiping them away with her arms as her face grew grim once more.

“Then… let’s go.”

Chimera nodded her head, taking one last look at the place where Monica once stood.

And noticing something else.

Standing where she landed, a woman with young features, bare skin, and red eyes and hair stared back at them.

Behind her was a tube that looked fairly similar to the brain tubes that she had seen before.

This one was destroyed, ripped from within and scattering its red contents onto the lab’s broken floor.

The Woman floated over the ground, her eyes never leaving Chimera’s as she came towards them.

“Halt.”

Sarah and Chimera froze, the thought piercing into the heads like a command.

“Wha?!”

“Who the hell?”

They both held their heads as the Woman landed in front of them.

“You two… you are like myself.”

Sarah shook her head as she peered up at the red-haired Woman.

“Who the hell are you?”

Chimera echoed the same as she braced her mind for any attempts to manipulate it.

But what welcomed her was a soft caress against her thoughts, a soft brush of intent that only wished to converse.

To understand.

“I am Margret Bockman. Though this may sound strange, I feel as though I know both of you. Are you the ones who freed me from Monica?”
