Chapter 27: Answer

Chapter 27: Answer

Upon entering the next room, I find myself in a rather large yet cramped room.

“So many…”

I murmured.

I saw before me a large room filled with desks and drawers filled with the contents similar to the ones in the hall outside.

“He had so much yet he still lacked room… He hoarded up so many…”

I truly do not wish to know for what cruel purpose he hoarded this many…

Nor do I wish to know how many people perished to collect so much.

But from this number, I conclude that the number of people who perished number in the hundreds.

*Moan*

“!?”

I was surprised at the sound and immediately drew my sword and got into a proper stance.

I silenced myself and began to listen attentively.

*Moan*

*Shatter*

*Flesh being dragged to the ground*

*Sound of water dropping*

All sorts of sounds were being heard throughout the large room.

And they number in dozens.

In this room, I’m in a disadvantage.

So many!

And that sound of water dropping… It’s far too heavy…

That means… It’s the sound of blood?

I wave my torch around and in the large hallway, I can make vague silhouettes walking by and some desks pushed down as well as broken glass.

“…”

If I search through this hallway, I’d definitely be drawn in a fight.

And the sound of battle would draw the rest definitely.

If I don’t be careful here, I may be defeated.

And the number of undead here may be astonishingly high.

I fear for the worse.

I can’t be reckless here. I must advance silently.

If I remember correctly, there should be a door here near.

If I can leave swiftly, I won’t be involved in any unnecessary battle.

After deciding my course of action, I stealthily advanced with my sword drawn prepared for combat.

I slowly advanced with caution.

I was very careful and wary of the various dangers around me.

As I proceeded forward, I could see them.

Their rotting corpses as they pass by me.

Fortunately, they failed to notice me.

“!”

I halt.

*Moan*

One of them passed by.

I quietly waited as it passed.

*Moan*

It soon passed.

I breathed a sigh of relief.

Then I continued my advance.

Slowly but surely, I was progressing.

Soon, I saw the vague door.

I secretly rejoiced.

I proceeded forward and opened the door.

Soon, only the rotting corpses were continuing their mindless acts.

Happy New Years everyone! 2015 was a great year for me. There were a lot of troubles here and there, but it all worked out in the end. I've posted two chapters here in commemoration for the New Year. I will post other chapters afterwards. Before I end it all, I would like to thank Mordant for telling me the title of the novel I was looking hard for. I enjoyed reading the fiction. Thank you very much Mordant. Also, I would like to praise the other authors who have been hard at work writing. I believe that one day, there will be a story, that will be commercialized. I believe we're not lacking in talent at all. 2016 will be another great year for Royal Road. I look forward to writing my stories and reading other stories written by other authors. Also, I thank all the readers who like my story even if it is only good for passing time from the bottom of my heart. Thank you. For reading my story when there are many others far better than me at writing a story.
