Chapter 21: Back to the Armory

Chapter 21: Back to the Armory

After parting with Viola, I went back straight to the armory.

Fortunately, I only encountered a few of the wolves that were left.

I returned silently to the armory.

When I returned, what greeted me were the remaining corpses and the destroyed traps I’ve set as well as the other defenses I’ve prepared.

They were all ruined.

“What a grim sight.”

I sighed.

Hopefully, there’s no other undead lurking here.

But I must be careful.

I drew my sword carefully and advanced forward.

I slowly walked towards the broken door.

I entered slowly.

I quietly sensed my surroundings.

“……………………………………… It appears that I’m alone.”

I sighed in relief.

I sheathed my sword and relaxed my guard.

Now then, my goal is simple enough.

It’s to end the curse.

To accomplish that, I need to arm myself.

I shouldn’t need any other allies though their help would be welcome.

With my power, I have enough numbers to aid me in pushing through.

Also, the number of undead who retained their hearts is too few.

I believe I should advance while thinking of allying myself with others if they appear.

But there should also be ones that wish this curse won’t end.

When the time comes and they stand in my way, I have no choice but to cut them down.

For now, I should begin my preparations.

I headed to the basement.

I quietly began preparing more arrows and took a shield as well as some daggers.

My preparations weren’t lacking when I faced that Wolf Pack Leader but it was simply too powerful that the weapons I currently have simply won’t do.

Even so, it’s better to prepare.

While making new arrows, time passed silently.

By the time I finished, two hours already passed.

The number of arrows I prepared should be more than enough for now.

“With this, my preparations should suffice.”

I walked upstairs and headed outside.

“I’ll bring an end to all this.”

I said determined.

I quietly left the armory.

For the last time.
