C8 - The Tainted King of the Shallows

Levi floated around the boss area, silently watching the gigantic two horned tainted fluff. These furries somehow resembled yetis except all black in fur. And have a disgusting Aura of curruption within them.

Granted Levi had not been hit once, but the history of rpg mechanics usually lean corruption either towards damage overtime plus debuffs, or just outright madness and confusion.

Not really something he'd want to be hit by with a meager 1 on Physique. Specially by the boss version of the debuff.

Levi silently positioned five out of his fifteen modified Skeletal warriors. Aka runners. Unlike the base version of [Summon Skeleton Warrior] he decided to shorten the limbs of these warriors while maintaining just the right amount of weight to be able to carry the bone needle version of their pre packaged bone sword.

The massive decrease in weight meant they should've meant to hit less harder, but Levi summed that piercing attacks amplified by [Skeletal Arcane] and [Bone Telekinesis] should do the trick.

He also imprived his 3x bone hooks by adding a piercing characteristic on its other end. Which only made sense why have only one end as piercer when you can set both?

Other than that, Levi kept the 6 bone blades for versatility. He tried sharpening the bone blades further but failed miserably. His current control of mana is rough enough as it is, he wasted around fifteen minutes on it but easily gave up. Trying to attempt micro actions with a 31 Mana stat is really pushing it.

Maybe he'll try again later on, but for now, it's time.

> [Info] Crethim, The tainted king of the shallows. Demonkin, Level 13

----------------------------------------

Crethim looked like a two story tall buffed up version of the horned tainted, one large horn and the other broken. Unlike it's miniature versions however Crethim held a gigantic rusted halberd the same height as his.

Hence the conversion of the skeletons to runners. Other than it's outer appearance, Levi kept a possible enraged mode as well as a stomp, throw, or field aoe skill.

Noticing the encircling Skeletal Runners Crethim roared before swinging his halberd in to a 360 degrees.

Fast! Levi commented as he watched the swung halberd while sitting crossed legged. He had to slightly elevate the bone platform to dodge the obviously aimed 360 feint.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

With how large and heavy the halberd was he used [Skeletal Arcane] to amplify the speed and strength of the dive Skeletal runners summoning the three bone hooks to do a 8 pronged attack before quickly using Telekinesis to pull them all back.

Squish.

Black tar gushed and tainted the shallows as Chrethim shouted. The elevated position I have quickly gave away five horned tainted rushing towards here.

Isn't that basically a cheat? How could an instance area Boss Summon beasts from outside its territory?

Levi laughed as he summoned the rest if his basic form [Summon Skeleton Warrior]. All 10 of them, sending macro commands to work together by twos and create favorable match ups against the horned beasts.

Without his supervision two [Summon Skeleton Warrior]s is far from enough to beat a level 8 horned tainted furry. He would have to amplify and pull out during critical moments for him to be able to win all 6 battle fields, including the boss fight being fought by the five Skeletal runniners carrying Bone needles.

'This is insane...'

Levi had been expecting a hard fight. But this was far beyond what he expected.

While he've had several experiences in using Summoner archetypes for VR, necromancers in Avalesk require too much freaking micro.

Unlike regular summons which has their own survival and protective instincts, or even intelligence, these Skeleton warriors are like programmable toys that can only take in simple commands.

Attack, defend, dodge, jump, leap, pierce, bite, run, sneak, etc.

If he wants to win fight using summons he'd have to update commands at every moment of the battle. There were moments that he just outright used Telekinesis on the Skeleton because teaching them to roll then jump then rush forward again became too complicated.

Levi now knew why the guide he read repeatedly mentioned that bone creation was vital.

Still, this much wasn't enough to faze a player like Levi. Focusing on distracting the boss for now, he maintained his controll in all 15 Skeletal summons. Make sure to dodge and attack during feasible times. Disregarding high damage attack timings for safer ones.

With Levi hovering and spamming bone blades to kill the summoned horned yetis one by one, it didn't take long before the battle turned to a one sided piercing and slashing towards the boss.

Although less effective Levi didn't unsummon any one of the fifteen Skeletal Summons. The battle so far had led Levi to realize the complexity of this class.

He focused patiently giving commands to attack, dodge and defend. He wanted to boil down the process to himself until it was second nature to him.

Of course there were instances where Crethim casted wide area stomps and along with swings where Levi had to strain himself to manipulate airtime for all 15 summons but he didn't allow his focus to give in.

Finally, the boss got enraged and abandoned its ideas of killing the measly skeletons. It charged and howled towards Levi throwing projectiles and even it's going as far as to discard it's gigantic halberd.

But alas, it's speed was farcry from hitting Levi's aerial maneuvering platform.

Soon the beast died.

And finally something other than leader dropped in this abyssal shallows.

A two horned mask, one full grown, one leather and a fur coat with the same color of the boss Crethim.

He laughed in joy as the battle finally ended. And unexpectedly, three additional identities that came alongside it.
