C61 - Kaldr

Sure, here's an edited version with some refinements for clarity and flow:

---

Unbeknownst to everyone, pieces had already started moving from floors much higher in Avalesk. While the birth of a new concept is nothing unusual in the upper circles—happening commonly after reaching a certain level—the person who managed to pass the trial of three deities and the great World Tree herself inevitably garnered attention.

Deities, timeless beings, and truth seekers alike watched the young creator, now a System-Verified God, with curious anticipation.

"Not an undead, but Skeletal Lifeforms? Isn't that a mockery?“

“Life beyond what is granted. Such is the meaning of undead.“

“Curious specimen.“

“That's Hilder, right? I recall him owing me a favor or two.“

“Elves consorting with the undead? The Serahaim? Hah, now that is tragic.“

“I could vaguely recall those poor children…“

“Bah. Wasn’t it you who stabbed the couple in the back first?“

“Another Blade of the Timekeeper? What is little Aeon up to…“

“Solacea has fallen so low, hasn't she?“

“That's not for you to judge, Grace.“

“I really can't understand the Great World Tree at times. Why would she help the young Skeletal…?“

“Maybe it’s the concept? It’s another alter of [Identity] after all.“

“A Transcendent trying to meddle between Timeless and Deities? The Kaldr Clan, huh… Quite presumptuous.“

“Not bad for a Creator/Summoner. Maybe I'll take him in as a disciple…“

“Trust me. You do not want to mess with affairs that the Great World Tree and the Undead are involved in.“

“Timeless beings really are nonsensical…“

“Still… I'm keeping him on watch for now…“

“Maybe… just maybe…"

Kaldr watched the Godling with rapt attention.

Throughout the tribulation, the newcomer had decimated other challengers in his realm as if they were children. With nothing but its converted body, it hacked away at the sturdier ones and even caught up with the most agile archer blessed by the World Tree herself.

Even through the tribulation, it charged greedily, killing, creating organized chaos, and thriving on it. A brilliant display of both intellectual and instinctive prowess… Something more common on the higher floors, but not what you'd expect in a trial ground of some random integrated world.

Kaldr couldn’t help but compare himself to the young man. Unlike deities who are forced to play a role, or the timeless who are simply strong by birthright and outright batshit crazy most of the time, Kaldr prided himself as one of the truth seekers of Avalesk. Those who seek to reach the top and achieve real ‘Immortality’. One that defies both Mortality and Time.

Not the ‘Revival’ granted by the system’s grace. He wanted his own concept of immortality. He wanted power beyond the old monsters. No…

Kaldr wanted to be the strongest.

---

The recent scenario rendered Kaldr feeling ‘inferior’. Being someone praised and feared for his talents, seeing someone with potential far above him made his blood boil. He had always known there were others more talented than him, but to hell with it if he was going to be satisfied with what was given to him.

With the tribulation eliminating the transgressor, Kaldr could've gotten a glimpse of the damn concept, but not only did his mark vanish upon the death of his agent, all the 5 levels he had invested in his agent went down the drain.

The heirloom left behind by his master allowed him to brand an agent and provide lesser blessings at the cost of levels, without being defined as a deity. A mutual connection that empowered both master and disciple, which in the long run would have granted him great returns as his agent provided partial exp and treasures whenever gained.

A type of arrangement that he had completed himself.

But who would’ve thought that the tribulation would sap away all of the blessings gathered in the temporal domain to power up the completion reward? For gods and deities, it was a simple thing to reinitiate their blessing… But for him?

Kaldr gritted his teeth in anger. It would’ve been nice if his former master had informed him in advance, but fuck.

Maybe this was karma for what he did?

No.

He had no regrets.

This was just a minor setback on his path.

He would vent his anger on the Skeletal Creator now turned god, then continue climbing Avalesk.

He is a Truthseeker after all.

To be continued.
