C43 - Bones and Scrolls

The next day, Levi logged in only to see huge changes within the fortress. Both Skeletals and Elves worked together chatting and laughing seemingly on duty, while others were running around carrying bones or scrolls over eager for their craft, their own inventories filled to the brim, they had to carry the remaining objects on their physical body as well.

The repairs and cleanup by the looks of it, had long been done within the couple of days he was unable to login.

Both Skeletals and Tri-Elves kneeled as they encounter Levi wander around the fortress. Guild members and administrators of the Bloodstained Sakura guild politely greeting Levi, most likely notified of him being a partial owner of the citizens and the place.

Finally, Levi reached the highest areas of the fortress reaching the 'Skeletal Town' or the hybrid existence core, encountering no issues along the way, most likely the guild members already notifying their colleagues and by extension the protectors as Levi strolled towards the miraculous thing.

'So there you are'

Levi layed his hand outward the Artifact-like bird immedietly perching on his hand before repositioning itself onto Levi's shoulder. Unlike the other Skeletals who are either battle or crafting fanatics, Hel seems to be more interested in refining it's bones.

The little thing was far stronger than even Crea in terms of stats but he wouldn't bet on it just from that. Crea as the first boss level identity he had ever created, seems to have taken maintaining his spot as a challenge.

Levi took his time to just enjoy the scenery. Zia dropping by some time giving him updates regarding the relations between bordering kingdoms including the Rowind, Shize, Lear, the three kingdoms Levi wiped out a couple of in game days ago.

He was surprised with the lack of aggression in the three.

They should have known by now that Skeletals aren't exactly immortal unlike their soldiers whom will respawn in a day or so, but thinking about it further immortality itself changed the landscape of how wars and fights happened in Avalesk. Battles became more of a sport, so to speak, and kingdoms and empires would only truly ever fall should they shatter their existence Core.

There was also the magic wielding elves whom are now immortal again. Along with the players and NPCs brought in by his wife... Yeah that was enough to deter them from thinking of an easy win.

Later that day, the Elven princess Elanor dropped by to thank him for the proper treatment and allowing her kind to study the Skeletal lifeforms as well meeting such talented and competitive 'Sisters'.

Her kind had had easily integrated with Levi's creations, one pursuing knowledge another pursuing more power in order to aid their master.

A pretty good combination to be honest.

While the Elves were terribly 'selfish and tightliped' with the knowledge they gather, they seem to hold high regard in the honest act of trading secrets. Using that as a key point, the skeletals and the elves started their unique relationship one which led to the rapid development of towns surrounding the castles, elves and skeletals slowly building towns and farms surrounding the fort, now that the war was finally over.

Instead of just hunting this time, Levi continued practicing switching from body to body, and then practicing controlling multiple bodies, then multiple battlefields. Keeping himself immersed and all the while content in watching his experience bar tick towards level 41.

He acknowledged the slow and steady process that mastering the skill required, and seems to have threaded a more relaxed approach. He didn't do anything else, he didn't talk to anyone, he just trained and meditated, trained and meditated as if on a loop.

Two days passed when Levi opened his eyes. He was surprised to find himself almost dying through a hunger debuff, but his Skeletals seeing as how they can sense their master's presence, already had a buffet of various dishes preheated at his side, just when he needed it.

Some of the skeletals as well as tri-elven guards looked hopeful at levi before grinning as they got permission to finish the dishes, as Levi finished his own fill.

...

Stretching out for a bit. Levi contemplated the tournament he and Anri talked about recently. He was going with his wife anyway, so why not just join himself?

Also, what his wife mentioned to him did make sense. The cash price was only a partial reason of why players continue to join the World VR League.

It could be said that the league itself is a battleground for players to actually test themselves against the best of the best.

It is also the only place and time where pro players could actually meet in and out of the game.

Players can only login for 3 out of the 18 days that goes on in Avalesk. Not to mention the huge world itself, as such it is quiate a commmon scenario for pro players to not meet each other for years inside games when doing quests unless they happen to cross paths or just deliberately did so.

Because of that the World VR League itself became more of a community where players exchanged information, for guilds to trade and recruit, and so on.

More of a socializing event, if you set aside the competitive aspect. In fact the WVRL has developed their venues to highlight the community aspect of the league, making it tradition to provide only the best of the best where it comes to the villas, dining and lounging areas for pro players to interact in...

There were even shows about gossips, interviewing player relations, and fans stalking players in and out of the game just to confirm rumors of relations and rivalries althrough out the league.

They were even more popular than celebrities. Some league players, like the guild captains of the Bloodstained Sakura Guild have even starred in movies and shows as if the gaming world itself was an entry point to being a celebrity.

An overly competitive, exessive but healthy industry to say the least.

Maybe he should just go ahead and try it? No point in dulling it over too much. Levi's eyes reflected light as he stared at the sun.

'I should atleast try.' He mumbled to himself before opening his status page, as a slew of notifications filled his vision once again.
