Chapter 86: Main Arena Battle

Chapter 86: Main Arena Battle

All five of them stood there looking at each other. The only one who had an indifferent look was Akata. Clearly, he didn’t really care about the situation at all,

The Star Wolf, Alabasta, snorted coldly and took a step forward. “So you ran away all the way to here huh? And it seems that you’re trying to cozy up to Tabet as well. Well no matter, I’ll still rip your throat out.” With that Alabasta pounced towards Akata.

Tabet got in front of Akata and shielded him from Alabasta. “Alabasta! You’re taking things too far. He isn’t anyone you can just kill. When it comes to status or strength he is still above you!” Tabet yelled out and swiped a paw in Alabasta’s direction. That paw strike held the power of his cultivation base and the element of wood. It was extremely sturdy.

Alabasta just snorted again and swiped his own paw in Tabet’s direction. His paw seemed to hold a whole universe within it. A neon light sprang up that held the power of stars within it. “Humph! Don’t utter nonsense to me.”

Boom!

The sounding boom made the land crack below them. Tabet ended up taking three steps back while Alabasta took four. Alabasta became enraged and yelled out, “Why are you protecting this mortal?!” Although he was enraged he knew that the Scarlet Tiger’s controlled this territory so he wouldn’t go on a rampage. Even with his status he wouldn’t be able to escape punishments.

“Humph. He is naturally the savior of our tribe. He saved us from certain death and he also happens to be my friend.” Tabet said earnestly and honestly.

Pina and Gorgon just stood behind watching all of this play out. They wanted to observe things first before deciding on what to do. But after hearing Tabet’s words they couldn’t just stand back now.

The snake-like wyrm beast, Pina, spoke out and asked, “Tabet… is this true? A mortal really saved your tribe and now you’re protecting him?” This was a serious matter for beasts. Mortals were the natural enemies of them and for a powerful tribe like the Scarlet Rune Tribe to be protecting one would obviously bring up much heated discussion.

“That is correct. And not just me, but my whole tribe as well is protecting him. If there is anything that is off limits, it is the harming of this mortal right here, Akata.” Tabet said with sharp eyes and a clear voice. His head was still facing Alabasta, and it seemed that his words were specifically meant for him.

Alabasta simply snorted. Gorgon, the ape-like Gatorape, looked at what was happening but didn’t say a word. He had already received word of a mortal that was deemed off limits from a beast within his tribe, the guard at the entrance of the palace, therefore he knew about Akata’s status. But even so, seeing Tabet stick up for him like this still made for conflicting thoughts to pop up in his head.

Alabasta looked on with cold eyes and said, “Well even so, he made a fool of me and ran out of our fight earlier. How do you expect to compensate for that?” It seemed as if Alabasta just wanted to vent his anger, so to do that he found a way create some action for himself.

Akata frowned and finally spoke up. “I didn’t pick a fight with you. As soon as I exited my secluded training I ran into a small Lunar Bear. That bear called for its mother and then the mother called out to the surrounding beasts. I wanted to train some so I decided to test some skills but then I got bored and decided to leave. There was never a true fight going on.”

Alabasta, became even more enraged at this. There wasn’t even a true fight? He got bored? Akata was basically saying that he didn’t hold any of the beasts in that group with any regard. This was a complete humiliation to him. In fact, Pina and Gorgon even felt some humiliation at Akata’s words.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Akata didn’t realize that his wording may had came out wrong until he actually said it. But by then it was too late.

“Then how about I challenge you to a fight right now then! I don’t care if you don’t accept. I’ll drag your body to the arena if I have to!” A neon aura started to spread out from Alabasta as he ground his sharp saber teeth.

Akata knew that he had messed up and that this would happen so he just sighed and nodded. “Fine let’s just get this over with.” By now, Akata didn’t even care what he said or how he said it, he just wanted to get this situation over with.

“Wait you clearly disregarded us as well! How do you expect to compensate us?” Gorgon finally spoke up, his voice deep.

Akata just looked over disinterested and said, “I’ll take all of you on then. That way this can go faster.” He then turned and looked at Tabet. “Can you lead me to the arena that wolf was talking about?”

Tabet had a helpless look on his face as he shook his head. “It’s this way follow me.” The whole walk to the arena was silent and filled with a hostile air. The most hostile of all was Alabasta. His eyes swept back and forth between Akata and Tabet. Completely opposite of his attitude, Akata had his mind on another thing altogether, he clearly wasn’t concerned about this.

‘From my earlier battle I can tell that wielding a scythe with one hand is much more difficult to do. Even with the aid of the World Omen of Lord Dullahan it is very hard to adapt. I need to figure out a way to get my arm back somehow, otherwise when I meet stronger opponents, I will definitely be at a disadvantage.’

“Noluck, do you know of any ways that I can recover my arm?” Akata asked from within him.

“Humph, of course I know plenty of ways to recover body parts. If you were a strong body cultivator then you could just regrow one easily, but since you aren’t you’ll have to use some other methods. Let’s see…” Noluck went into thought for a moment before speaking up again. “The best I can think of that would be easy for you to obtain right now is a prosthetic arm. Though it will be weak there are plenty of ways of making it stronger.”

“Where can I get a prosthetic arm from?” Akata asked in confusion.

“Humph. Do I have to do everything around here? Try using a plant to make up your arm. They have the best regenerative properties there are and are quite resilient.” Noluck said with a haughty air.

“A plant? How am I supposed to use a plant as an arm? I’m going to wave it in the air? And that doesn’t mean I can hold onto things like I can do with my hands…” Akata said.

“You’re a plant cultivator, in fact you’re more of a true plant cultivator considering you have a plant cultivation base. But then again you aren’t a plant. But even still, you have a plant cultivation base so controlling plants should come easy to you. Normal true plant cultivators are plants and therefore have more control over the certain plant that they are, try finding a suitable plant for you. And when you do just control it to make it into an arm. Like how beasts and other creatures can look like a mortal, so can plants.” Noluck said.

“A plant suitable to me…” Akata thought about all the plants that he had come into contact with. There was the Illusory Phoenix Lily which had a boundless life force and illusory properties, this would be a great match for him. He then thought about the Blood Lotus which was able to absorb the blood of opponents and use it to strengthen itself, this was something similar to what he could do and could possibly use it to improve himself.

There was also the Five Elements Rose which had different elements he could use to gain enlightenment of. And also not to mention the Demonic Spirit Poppy, which he was supposed to find with Peizhi Xiuying, that could create illusions and cause mental hallucinations that can attack the mind. There were many more plants that could be used and would provide many benefits to him, but alas only one could be used as his arm.

Akata went into deep thought over this matter and before he knew it he was snapped out of thought by a voice. “Akata we’re here! Are you listening?” Tabet’s voice flowed into Akata’s ear and woke him from his thinking.

“Ah!” Akata picked his head up and looked around to see a grand field of many arenas. There were many young and some older beasts either fighting or spectating. Groups could be seen chatting and exchanging pointers to various others. It was as if the arenas had there own little community. It kind of reminded Akata of the Training Field back at the Red Cloud Sect.

But besides the various beasts, what caught Akata’s attention more were the arena stages themselves. There were tens of them, and each one was made from golden sand that contained traces of the holy element. It brought about a rich aura that bore into the minds and thoughts of everyone present. Akata couldn’t even be helped but be pleased.

“We’re going to the main arena for our battle.” A savage voice interrupted Akata’s reverie and caused him to look over to see Alabasta walking towards the middle of the field. He, along with the others started to follow behind.

The sight of people heading to the main arena caught the attention of some beasts in the area. That was because there was only one path that led to the stage of the main arena and not just anybody could fight on there. So when people were heading there, they obviously had some status.

Soon, a crowd started to gather over to get a good look at who was heading to the main arena. The spectator stands of the main arena were accessible to anyone so a huge crowd quickly formed. Even others who were on other arenas came over for a look. And what they saw brought excitement.
