The white Illusory Phoenix Lily quickly changed colors as it took an an orange hue. It was a shocking orange that looked reminiscent of a sunset. As that happened even more life energy wafted from the flower in Peizhi Xiuying’s hand.
She picked up the flower with her other hand and inspected it briefly. After a while her face formed a pleasant smile that would cause one’s heart to soften and she handed the flower over to Akata. “Here you are. By the look on your face it seems like you really needed it.” Peizhi Xiuying let out a cute chuckle.
“Eh… Yeah. Hehe.” Akata laughed embarrassedly as he rubbed the back of his head. “I guess I was a bit too happy just now. But in any case, thanks! I’ll surely pay you back.” Akata said full of excitement. He looked her in the eyes and smiled heavily. Without doing anything else he turned around and dashed down the hall towards his own room. Even though he was out of sight in a flash his voice still carried over from him yelling, “I’m going into seclusion so I’ll train with you guys in a bit.”
Huihe Ji and Peizhi Xiuying looked at each other and could only smile confusedly at each other.
Within his own room, Akata immediately dashed towards an open field and sat down cross legged. He took out the Illusory Phoenix Lily that Peizhi Xiuying had made and gave it a long look before determination flashed within his eyes. “This has to work! Hopefully there isn’t much difference between the flowers Peizhi Xiuying makes and the ones’ found in the real world.”
“What are you so flustered over?” Noluck couldn’t tell why Akata was so uppity at this moment.
“I’m planning on reviving you right now. If everything works out I can even have you fight with me. However, I need your full cooperation.” Akata didn’t hide anything as he told his plans to Noluck.
“What?! You reviving me now? Impossible. There shouldn’t be anything that allows a First Rank cultivator to revive me.” Noluck completely dismissed the notion. With his knowledge, he simply didn’t believe Akata had the capabilities to revive him right now.
Akata didn’t respond, however, as he was entirely focused on his efforts. ‘My plan is to merge Noluck’s consciousness and soul into the Illusory Phoenix Lily. With the rebirth effect the Illusory Phoenix Lily has it should be able to completely revive him while giving him a new body.’
The plan sounded simple but in reality it was much more complicated. Akata held the Illusory Phoenix Lily in his plant arm. With a bit of concentration Akata transformed the azure vines to turn into a golden color. The gold vines then spread out to cover the flower in his palm. From the gold vines a profound energy wafted out. This energy was too powerful as it was on the same level as the azure vines destruction energy. The energy from the gold vines, however, wasn’t that of destruction but more like creation.
Swoosh! Akata rotated his soul rune as an intense crimson glow shot out from his body. With nothing but a thought the crimson light focused upon his palm that the Illusory Phoenix Lily was in. Akata was pouring in the profound power of creation and the power of his soul rune into the Illusory Phoenix Lily. With his powerful nature energy Akata guided the two energies to merge inside of the flower.
By now, Akata realized what had sealed Noluck in his dantion region. It was obviously his soul rune. With Akata’s insights into the Outer Element of Souls he had much more knowledge about what it was capable of doing. He found out that the soul rune restricted Noluck so that it couldn’t harm him. Although he didn’t know why it would do that, it was obviously a defensive mechanism. With such a mechanism, Akata didn’t have to worry one bit about Noluck hurting him. But even though he didn’t have to worry, he still didn’t like him as much.
Akata didn’t have many powerful methods, in fact, it could be said that other than fighting, Akata had no other exceptional skills. In order to merge the outstandingly profound energies into the Illusory Phoenix Lily and use the power of rebirth within it, Akata could only think of one method… runes. With his knowledge of runes, Akata was actually attempting to flawlessly fuse the three profound powers together within the flower so that he could give it Noluck. If Noluck were to be given this flower in his current form, it would undoubtedly cause his soul and consciousness to fuse with the flower and therefore once the flower began its rebirth, Noluck too would be reborn.
Once Noluck saw what was happening even he couldn’t remain calm anymore. “Is… Is he truly able to do this right now? Although if he does succeed, with how the flower operates I definitely wouldn’t be near my peak strength, but I would be able to be reborn fresh and keep my memories. With my knowledge I could quickly rise in strength.” An expectant gaze appeared within his eyes that yearned for himself to walk the universe again.

Akata was putting his full effort into creating this heaven-defying flower. But to complete it he had to make a completely complex rune that would be strong enough to control the three profound energies. Although Akata was a genius, he just hadn’t learned much about runecrafting or any other method that could be used to merge the energies together with the flower. So, after a few attempts he eventually gave up.
“Looks like I can only stop right here. I have the method to revive you but not the strength or knowledge to go through with it.” Akata could only shake his head. He felt he was so close but he just wasn’t able to make it all the way.
“No matter no matter. With your comprehension skills I’ll bet that if you read a couple of books and learn a few more things you’ll be able to complete this flower in no time at all. Then your efforts won’t have to be in vain.” Noluck consoled Akata at this moment.
“You sure know how to lick somebody’s boots clean! Just a few moments ago you even told me that what I was doing was impossible, yet now you praise my efforts. Humph.” Akata really couldn’t be bothered with Noluck’s style. All he cared for was himself and he simply would use others for his own benefits. Akata didn’t like those kinds of people and even felt disgust. Although Akata planned to use Noluck in the future, it was only because he was going to revive him, he had to get something out of it.
“Aw don’t say things like that. I just thought you were feeling discouraged and therefore needed some encouragement. I’m only here to help… ‘since I can’t do anything else.’ Noluck murmured the last part to himself so only he could hear what he said. He saw that Akata was still displeased so he gave an awkward smile and said, “How about I teach you about enchanting then? It’s much more useful than simply only using runes when it comes to applying effects to items. Not only will you be able to make that flower you could even create other special oddities.”
‘Enchanting? I never thought of this trade before. If I could learn to enchant I could create weapons, armors, and even special medicines.’ Akata’s mind was racing with thoughts related to enchanting. It could be seen that he quite liked this idea. But he wasn’t going to make it seem like he was easy to coerce and manipulate. “Oh… you’re skilled in enchanting?” Akata dodged the offer and asked his own question.
“Indeed I quite am. Enchanting could be called my greatest passion besides cultivating. Oh how I love it. Enchantments simply have endless possibilities. A simple piece of scrap metal could be transformed into a divine artifact capable of destroying a world. How amazing is that?!” Noluck expressed endless delight as he mentioned enchanting. It truly seemed as if it was his passion.
“Then what could you teach me then? Is it truly possible to complete the merging progress with enchantments?” Akata was more concerned over the merging of the profound energies than anything. If he could learn to enchant that would be good but his main focus would still be cultivating and becoming stronger.
“Bah! With my methods you could become a grandmaster of enchanting. Not only would you be able to complete the merging you could even do much more. Enchanting weapons and armor that could grow alongside you, creating indestructible metal, heck, you could even absorb attacks and make them into your own power, the possibilities are endless.” As Noluck spoke he became more and more ecstatic. If one could see his face clearly they would even notice that his eyes were shining with the light of joy.
“Then it’s a deal. When can I start learning?” Akata had no reason to refuse. If enchanting could make him powerful in the future and also revive Noluck then what harm was there in learning it? Thus, he readily agreed to it.
“Hoho! We can start now. Being a grandmaster of enchanting myself I can pass on some knowledge to you. This world should have an enchantment table or room so we should head there immediately.” Noluck was practically jumping with joy. He never would have thought he could enjoy the pleasure of teaching someone about enchanting. Not only that, but this person came from a super sect so the materials they had were sure to be shocking.
“Mn.” Akata nodded his head. In his mind was a map of the whole city and with that map included the worlds that were within many of the buildings. Obviously there was a map of the world in Akata’s room. With a thought Akata found the location of an enchantment room within his room. He walked there with light strides and an easygoing appearance. He wanted to enjoy this world that was his room.
After arriving, Akata saw that the enchantment room was pretty large. In the room there were many shelves, tables, and chests within. Various books and ingredients were stored within and on top of the shelves, tables, and chests. The material that made up everything was absolutely not normal. It appeared to be a black stone yet it wasn’t stone. A faint radiance shone from it and just by looking one could tell that it was extraordinary.
After briefly sizing up the room Akata felt that it was interesting. He saw various ingredients such as blood from various beings, salts, ashes, crystals, and more. Different energies wafted from the ingredients and if one wasn’t prepared for the sight of so many ingredients then one would be at a loss of what to do. And that was the case for Akata.
“Ahh! S… s… so many wonderful ingredients around! Look that’s Soulfire Salts! Over there that’s Petrid Fur! Wait wait wait… It can’t be… is that actually Oblivion Fairy Bones?! That’s not it… there’s actually even… ” Shock was all throughout Noluck’s voice as it rang out incessantly.
After a bit of time waiting for Noluck’s excitement to die down with no avail, Akata eventually got him back on track with a few shouts of his own.
“Okay okay. I did go a bit overboard but enchanting really is my passion in life. I’ve never even seen some of these materials let alone work with them. First things first however, is that we have to get your knowledge up. Looking at you right now, you don’t know what any of these ingredients and materials are which is quite sad actually.” Noluck said with intended sorrow in his voice.
“Why should I learn about ingredients and materials? Can’t you just teach me how to enchant?” Akata didn’t really want to go through all that trouble.
“Nonsense! Without a basic knowledge of the ingredients and materials you need to use how can you start enchanting? If you don’t even know what to make your enchantments out of how could you create marvels? You’re simply making a fool out of enchanters! Bah! You buffoon.” Noluck berated Akata for such careless words.
