“Hurry! Do something!” Noluck begged and pleaded.
Akata quickly cast his Soul Foresight into the Illusory Phoenix Lily to inspect it. “This… “ Upon inspection, Akata’s face changed greatly. He was at a complete loss.
Noluck’s soul was being devoured by the power of the Illusory Phoenix Lily. In fact, to be more precise, it was being devoured by the power Peizhi Xiuying put into the Illusory Phoenix Lily. In order to make it as authentic to the real flower, Peizhi Xiuying used some of her insights into the Outer Elements to connect the Outer Element of Life to the Illusory Phoenix Lily. Her actions wouldn’t have been a problem if one was planning to use the flower regularly. The only issue would be if someone with a weak soul was attempting to take over the flower. And Noluck was precisely trying to do that.
It wasn’t that the Outer Element of Life was harming Noluck, it was just that Peizhi Xiuying wasn’t able to control her power well enough. Due to that, the Outer Element of Yin happened to pour into the flower as well. The yin element was extremely cold and had a strong corroding effect. Noluck, who was really weak at the moment, couldn’t resist this corrosion effect and therefore his soul was being devoured by it.
Because of all of this, Akata was faced with a huge problem. The yin element had devoured much of Noluck’s soul. It wouldn’t be possible for him to assimilate on his own, even if the yin element stopped devouring his soul right now. Akata would have to help through this process, but if he was careless at any moment then he could potentially harm Noluck’s soul further.
Without delay, Akata immediately surged his Soul Foresight, soul and nature energy into the Illusory Phoenix Lily. While nature energy was the main factor in helping Noluck at this moment, due to him being a plant cultivator, Akata didn’t want to take any risks regarding his control of it. In terms of control, Akata could control his soul energy the best. That was because he had his soul rune as back up which brought immense benefits to Akata’s soul.
With his top-class perception and outstanding control, Akata began to help Noluck. He didn’t plan to eradicate the yin element, as it still had a purpose. The soul energy and nature energy it had contained within was greatly beneficial for Noluck.
Akata’s crimson soul rune spun around rapidly as he concentrated further. Crimson light radiated from Akata’s figure and as it did, it washed over the flower in his palm. The light entered the flower and as soon as it appeared, it was as if it were the sovereign of the flower. Noluck became frightened by this scene and began to back away. But the light didn’t allow him to.
Almost as soon as it entered the Illusory Phoenix Lily it shot over to Noluck’s misty figure. As it shot toward it, a weird event happened. The crimson light actually fused with Noluck’s figure. When it fused, Akata could feel a whole new connection to Noluck.
“What is this?” Akata was greatly shocked. Everything had happened too fast for even him to notice it. By the time he noticed what was going on, he already felt a weird connection to Noluck. It was the same kind of connection he felt with his scythes when the symbols appeared on them. It was as if, by some strange occurrence, Noluck became apart of him.
The light didn’t stop there, however, as it soon expanded. It encompassed the whole flower and began to fuse everything together. With his Soul Foresight, Akata was able to see the whole process clearly. The crimson light was doing more than just fusing everything together, it was creating a single entity.
What this meant was that everything within the flower, whether it was an element, divine energy, nature energy, soul energy, or even Noluck’s remaining life, were being fused via the soul. They were truly becoming one, and the core of that soul was naturally Noluck.
When everything was fully fused together, the crimson rune stopped spinning and the light vanished in an instant. The whole process happened in less than the blink of an eye. It was too shocking.
Not to mention Noluck, even Akata was at a loss for what just happened. After a few breaths passed by in silence between the two, Akata eventually shook his head and lightly laughed. He knew this rune was mysterious and everytime it acted, something amazing would happen. This time, it really didn’t disappoint.

“Noluck, I’m not sure what happened, but it seems that everything was a success.” Akata laughed. “Let’s not dwell on this matter and just rejoice that everything is alright.”
If Akata didn’t even know what happened then there was no reason to ask anything. Noluck just calmly accepted the fact that everything was well now.
In fact, it was even better than the method they had been going for. Noluck had fully fused with the Illusory Phoenix Lily, and it was a perfect fusion. It was almost as if he had been born from this body.
Looking at the Illusory Phoenix Lily in his palm, Akata noticed a crimson symbol on its surface. It happened to be different symbol than the one’s on his scythes yet it was also a bit similar. It gave off a familiar feeling to Akata as if it was a part of him somehow.
“I wonder.” Akata mused to himself briefly. Then, with a thought, a crimson light appeared and flashed by. Looking again, the Illusory Phoenix Lily had vanished from his palm. “Hahaha. I thought that might happen.” Akata beamed a bright smile.
“Wha… Where is this place?” Noluck was astonished. Around him was a dark space yet, it wasn’t empty. He could see any different colored symbols floating around. They all emitted a pure power yet what caught his attention were three distinct symbols. These symbols were much more powerful and dominating than the other symbols. As for their appearances? They looked to be just like runes.
“Is that…” Noluck’s face became pale with fright. He looked upon one particular rune and fear instantly swept through his soul. This rune was crimson, it was precisely Akata’s soul rune that Noluck was looking at right now. That was because he was within Akata’s soul region. The many colored symbols floating around were all imprinted rune cores within Akata’s soul region. The most prevalent had to be a shining purple rune. This was the first rune core Akata had imprinted. The illusory rune core.
“Noluck so that is your true appearance.” A voice suddenly echoed throughout the space. Turning his head, Noluck saw a familiar figure walking over to him. It was precisely Akata.
Akata looked at Noluck closely. He had a human figure with odd parts. His skin was orange and his eyes were a bright green. On his arms and legs, green vines could be seen. Yet, those vines seemed to have life to them, almost as if they were snakes or a coiling dragon. Yet, Akata didn’t pay too close attention as he soon closed his eyes and turned his head away. That was because Noluck was currently naked.
With the perfect fusion between Noluck and the Illusory Phoenix Lily, Noluck gained full control of the powers the flower had. At first, he would’ve had to wait for the revival of the flower in order to be revived, but now, he was able to start the revival process at will. The process wasn’t that complicated at all. It merely shed its outer layer and left the inner layer to grow. The whole process happened in a blink. Within that inner layer, Noluck appeared. What was disappointing, however, was that the flower could only revive itself once. Since Noluck already used it he basically had this one life.
Seeing Akata, Noluck wasn’t the least bit distant. He immediately ran up to Akata and kneeled down to the ground. “You have kept your promise and even saved my life. I am eternally grateful to you for what you have done for me. In the future, I will do all I can to help you, even if it means putting my life on the line. I will do this without hesitation of the consequences, for you have helped me greatly.”
To Akata’s surprise Noluck actually wanted to serve him. His face filled with shock. A mighty figure that used to be an immortal actually wanted to be his servant now. Who wouldn’t be shocked by that? Before Akata could say anything, however, Noluck continued on.
“Back in the day, I was a mighty figure, an immortal. I considered myself a genius and all those below me were trash. I was brave and stubborn. I decided to go through my tribulation to increase my strength at a fast rate, but I had greatly underestimated its power, and for that, I paid the price. In order to preserve my life for a chance at living I used a forbidden technique only plant cultivators could use and I spread my life in the surrounding area. However, I didn’t think that even my comprehension of the technique was so shallow that I couldn’t even spread my life properly. I lost all hope of being able to revive. But then I met you.”
At this point in time Noluck’s eyes were shining. “You’re the greatest genius I have ever seen or even heard of in my life. Your strength, perception, comprehension, character, they are all above the level of geniuses at your age. Your potential is limitless and even your future will be filled with glory. I wish to continue on the path of cultivation but I don’t wish to be meager. I want to follow you so that I can experience your journey with you. I won’t take no for an answer and I will follow you regardless.” Noluck’s eyes were firm.
Hearing all of this how could Akata reject his firm intentions. Even if he were to reject, he felt like Noluck would still follow him anyways. It was better to accept the goodwill than to reject it in this case.
“Eheheh. I’ve always wanted a companion with me. But you won’t be a servant to me. Instead we can be partners or a team.” Akata suggested.
“Ahaha! Great. I wouldn’t want to have it any other way.” Noluck beamed. He didn’t care if he was a servant or a partner. As long as he got to travel with Akata it would all be great.
“Now now. First thing we should do is get you some clothes.” Akata laughed awkwardly.
Up until this point, Noluck had been ecstatic. But, after hearing Akata’s words his face became confused. He looked down at his body and soon his face turned from orange to red. With a quick wave of his hand, power burst forth and the power gathered into the appearance of a robe. With that, Noluck quickly put on the robe in an embarrassed manner
Akata was a bit shocked. The power Noluck wielded wasn’t simple. It actually contained some powerful might. The might of which wasn’t inferior to First Moon when he came to wreck havoc on the sect. In fact, it was greater than First Moon!
“High Second Rank cultivator!” Akata was shocked.
