Akata “looked” closely at the yellow fire with his nature sense. Not only was he inspecting the energy around the fire but was also inspecting the fire energy itself.
‘The Inner Element of Fire is too profound. It has the capabilities to turn things into ash and even incinerate the ash. It has varying degrees of heat in which it can actually be cool enough to touch. Not only does it have abilities to destroy but it can also help. It brings light to the environment and warmth to certain things.
This yellow fire seems to have other qualities to it that makes it unique from other types of fire. Yet, I can’t tell exactly what kind of qualities they are. It seems that I would have to gain a better sense of fire in order to discover its secrets.” Akata couldn’t help but be amazed. The Inner Element of Fire was so profound that he couldn’t even discover the basic secrets of it from this simple fire in front of him.
Akata just sighed and shook his head. Although the Inner Element of Fire was outstanding and was very profound, he didn’t think it matched up to his personality. He just didn’t see himself truly wielding the power of fire to its full effect.
He turned his head to face Great Lord Taple and then spoke, “I’m finished with looking at the fire. It is truly profound and I can barely even gain any insights regarding it. I can tell that this is just a simple fire yet it has many secrets hidden within it that I won’t be able to discover anytime soon. Are there any other elements that you could show me? I don’t think the Inner Element of Fire is suited for me.” Akata was respectful when he spoke.
He didn’t want to come off as being rude or sound as if he didn’t care for the fire. He was very grateful for the fire and found some insights regarding it but he just didn’t have any talent for it.
Great Lord Taple showed a face filled with surprise. He was surprised at how fast Akata managed to gain some insights regarding the fire. It had only been a few minutes since he had first shown the fire, yet Akata had already gained some insights and found that he wouldn’t be particularly skilled in it. It must be known that even geniuses would take a few days to gain some insights and figure out if they were skilled with an element. It had even taken Great Lord Taple himself two full days to gain enough insights regarding this fire in order to freely use a bit of it.
He gave Akata a once over then spoke. “Tell me some of the insights that you gained when contemplating this fire and then I will switch over to the next element.” His tone had turned rather serious as he spoke to Akata. This caused Akata to gain a sense of fear within him.
He took a gulp and then said, “Fire is not eternal yet it is also eternal. It can be physical or intangible. This is because a fire doesn’t have to burn in the world, it can also burn in the body. The fire you showed me held a deep emotion of holiness. It is probably something that you incorporated yourself, whether intentionally or unintentionally. Whichever the case, that sense of emotion came from the fire that burns in your heart.
An eternal fire exists within you, while the non eternal fire exists in the world. The intangible fire exists within your heart, while the physical fire exists within the elements. Even though the two fires differ, they can be seen as the same. That is because of the core of fire. What makes a fire, fire is the fact that it glows. It shines on all the things that can be illuminated. Whether that is the grass, trees, forest, your emotions, or even the Heavens themselves, fire is meant to shine.”
Akata gave his answer of the insights he gained about fire in the short amount of time that he had contemplated the fire that Great Lord Taple had produced. It was a deep insight that he had gained but to Akata, it seemed as if it wasn’t worth much. Some experts in the Inner Element of Fire would never even reach this level of insight in their whole lives yet Akata was able to do so within a short few minutes.

Great Lord Taple was very astounded and his face was full of shock. The level of insight that Akata had gained could be considered enough to make him an expert in the field of fire, yet Akata had said that the Inner Element of Fire didn’t suit him. Then, if Akata did find an element that suited him, what would his insights be then?
Great Lord Taple took in a cold breath as he thought about this. ‘Genius!’ This was the only word that could surface within his mind when Akata finished speaking. His insights truly were deep and profound, but Akata himself found it to be nothing. “I’ll show you a different element tomorrow. For now, I want to see if you can actually create a fireball. Use your cultivation base to connect with the energy of Heaven and Earth and influence the Inner Element of Fire. Given that you are able to use nature sense it should be fairly easy to conjure up a fireball.
I’ll show you once more how I conjure a fireball. Pay close attention to the energy disturbance and how it makes a fireball. If you are able to do so then I will move onto another element tomorrow.” Great Lord Taple waved his hand and caused a fireball the size of a fingernail to appear in his palm. Then in the span of ten breaths it grew to the size of a head. He threw the flame down onto the ground and then turned to leave.
“I’ll be back tomorrow to see if you can make a fireball. Good luck.” With that Great Lord Taple left the room, leaving behind only Akata and a fireball.
In truth he was actually wanting Akata to reconsider taking up the Inner Element of Fire. He believed that Akata didn’t know what he was thinking and that he would be wasting his time trying to figure out a different element. If he was already a genius in the Inner Element of Fire why would he need to look into other elements?
He had given Akata a day to conjure a fireball. This could be considered an extremely short amount of time even for geniuses. Even a person who had insights into the workings of a blade couldn’t perfectly wield it when they had no prior experience. The same logic would go for magic practitioners. Even if you had knowledge on fire that didn’t mean you could just start to produce it. This was what Great Lord Taple was going for. He wanted Akata to spend more time on fire as he was a super genius.
Akata sat there with his nature sense wrapped around the fireball on the ground. He had tremendous insights regarding fire but that didn’t mean he instantly knew how to make it. He tried different things such as waving his hand, thinking of heat, and even touching the fire, but none of that worked.
He frowned and then said, “Noluck, do you know how to make a fireball?” He was going to ask Noluck the best way to make fire. With his knowledge it would surely be an easy feat to teach him. But what he got in return wasn’t an answer but silence.
Noluck was silent and if his body wasn’t made of mist you would be able to see his face was blank with shock. He was still in shock from what Akata had done. Great Lord Taple had been in shock, but Noluck was even more shocked than him.
Great Lord Taple didn’t understand all that Akata had said because the insights Akata had gained in that little bit of time were actually greater than his own. Akata’s insights had surpassed Great Lord Taple’s insights in the Inner Element of Fire. The only person who could actually ascertain the level of Akata’s insights was Noluck. Only he could understand Akata’s meaning behind his thoughts of fire.
The amount of time he had used to gain this tremendously deep insights were impossible to describe even to Noluck. He had never heard of a monster like Akata, not even in legends. Yet, he was even more surprised to find out that Akata didn’t feel like he had much skill in it.
Dwelling inside of Akata he had a better understanding of Akata than anyone else, even Akata himself. He could tell that Akata didn’t have much skill in the Inner Element of Fire, yet that fact, actually made him go cold. If he wasn’t talented in fire, then what level would he be in something that he was skilled in? This thought crossed Noluck’s mind multiple times.
After a few more times of his name being called he finally answered.
“Noluck?! Noluck are you sleeping? Answer me! How do you make a fireball?” Akata yelled out.
“Ah! A fireball is fairly simple to make actually. It will actually be even easier to you than others. Just use your nature sense to feel for the Inner Element of Fire and use your cultivation base power to recreate that feeling.” Noluck replied blandly.
“Why didn’t you answer before?” Akata said while focusing his nature sense on the fire in front of him. However, he frowned as he didn’t know what to do next. ‘I don’t want to keep asking for help so I’ll try this on my own. He said to recreate the feeling with my cultivation base power. But it’s not working at all.”
He thought for a long moment before coming to a new conclusion. “Ah!” Akata waved his hand causing his hellfire to come out and then mixed it in with the yellow fire in front of him. The two fires immediately came together and the yellow fire was quickly consumed. Akata knew that one fire was going to go out but didn’t know which one. But now he had an idea for creating fire through magic.
He had an eternal shard within him that contained the demonic hellfire he had cultivated some time ago. But drawing upon that and actually creating fire through magic were two different things. A smile crept upon his face as he waved his hand causing a yellow flame to appear in his palm..
