Chapter 134: I Reckon’ Issa Killin’

Second Moon was filled to the brim with killing intent. His cold and savage eyes were locked on tight to the person in front of him. Even though the person was sitting down cross legged calmly, he still figured that this person couldn’t possibly withstand him. Even though he was suppressed down to the 1st Grade of the Earthly Rank, this person in front of him was only at the 10th Grade of the Mortal Rank. The distance was only one Grade but there was also a difference between one Rank as well. It might seem short but in reality this was huge!

Moving from the Mortal Rank to the Earthly Rank signified a huge change to one’s life. No longer did one have to spend all of their time on the ground, when one successfully broke through to the Earthly Rank they could actually fly! This alone surpassed a mortal’s comprehension. The body would transform to a completely new existence that would put it in a whole different league from mortals.

To put it simply, the weakest 1st Grade Earthly Rank cultivator was still at least 50 times stronger than a regular 10th Grade Mortal Rank cultivator. This was an increase in strength by 50 whole times! There was simply no way that a Mortal Ranked cultivator could stand up to an Earthly Ranked cultivator. That was why, even though the difference was only one Rank, Second Moon held absolute confidence in himself. Killing this person in front of him would only take a wave of his hand.

Second Moon’s eyes were bloodshot and a cold pressure radiated off of him. He gave a cold snort and immediately disappeared. As soon as he appeared again he was already in front of the white robed figure. Silver light sprang up all around his body as a giant crescent moon appeared above his hand. With a wave, it was sent toward the seated figure in an awe-inspiring manner. It brought a chilling cold sensation that corroded the heart.

It all happened so fast that it was simply unbelievable. The person seated on the ground didn’t even have time to move yet despite an attack being launched at him. Second Moon didn’t think much of it since this was the speed being at the Earthly Rank granted. It was speed that mortals couldn’t even see or comprehend, let alone react to.

The crescent moon swept toward the seated figure at a crazy speed, easily surpassing the speed that was used by Second Moon to arrive right in front of the seated figure. In less than a blink of an eye it was already upon the figures body.

Bang!

The crescent moon exploded upon impact as dust and debris rose into the air.  Second Moon’s cold eyes never left the figure, which was why they were constricted right now. Ahead of him, he could see the white robed figure standing about a foot back from where he was just seated, completely ungrazed. Not even a speck of dust was on his white robes.

“Yer ain’t even ask fo’ my name. Well I’ll let yer know since yer ain’t gonna be living fo’ long anyhow. They call me Huihe Ji. That’s my given name, my daoist name is… Swordlife.” Huihe Ji lifted up the red greatsword in his hands and pointed it straight at Second Moon.

Second Moon felt his heart stop beating for a moment as he gazed upon the sword in the youth’s hands. That sword gave him a very bad feeling. Not only did the sword give him a bad feeling, but when he looked at the youth’s eyes he felt a shocking sword intent.

‘Just who is this person?’ This was all that he could think of. He had originally not even considered this youth alive, yet when he saw this youth slice his crescent moon in half in an instant all of his haughtiness disappeared. His mind settled down and he no longer was acting rashly like before.

‘This sect actually raised a monster of a kid. No wonder it is considered mysterious and that the other sects are actually taking it seriously. A 10th Grade Mortal Ranked kid can actually fight against the Earthly Rank.’ Second Moon took in a deep breath as shocking killing intent roiled out of him. He had to eliminate this person in front of him. If this person was allowed to grow, who knows what would happen to his sect during the war?

“I’m going to kill you kid.” Second Moon’s eyes flashed with silver light as his eyes pupils transformed to resemble crescent moons. The sky above turned dark as a crescent moon appeared up above. This was the Divine Night Shift Domain that every one of the Four Moons knew how to do. It strengthened them while it suppressed their opponent.

A sickle appeared in each of his hands: the blade resembling a crescent moon shape. Second Moon sliced at the air sending waves of silver light racing toward Huihe Ji. That silver light wanted to corrode the heart, making it so that the opponent wouldn’t want to fight back at all.

“Ah! This is sort of like how I use my abandonment powers. This is so much more simpler than the way I use it and it makes so much more sense. Amazing.” Sect Leader Fu was watching the whole battle take place from her throne. She didn’t expect to see anything spectacular, but she also didn’t expect to gain any insights either. This was a true blessing for her.

Huihe Ji looked calmly at the approaching silver light. His heart felt as if it couldn’t take on those arcs of light head on. It didn’t want to take on those lights at all. He felt his body slowly giving up, not wanting to fight any longer. He picked up his greatsword and held it in the air above his head. With a large swing he caused a huge red beam of light to shoot out toward those arcs of silver light.

The huge red beam of sword-light clashed with the silver beams head on. It consumed the first one, then the second and third. It continued on in a straight path unimpeded by the silver arcs of light. It was a direct clash of power between a Mortal Ranked cultivator and an Earthly Rank cultivator, and Second Moon was actually losing out!

‘The power of his sword intent is simply amazing. Even in a straight clash I’m losing out. Just what insights has he gained. It is obviously on the level of an Earthly Ranked cultivator.’ Second Moon gritted his teeth a crescent moon appeared above his head. It then started to rotate at a fast pace. The rotation caused the power of corrosion to spill outwards and into the surrounding area.

‘I corrode the hearts of things. They will bend to my will once I impart my thoughts upon it. I will control the area until I eventually corrode his heart and then I will have won.’ Second Moon made his plan mentally and started to enact it.

The power of corrosion filled the area and forced its way into the surrounding objects. Rocks, grass, air, etc. all felt their hearts being corroded. Just like everything had its own soul, everything had its own ‘heart’. This ‘heart’ was shaped by environment and other factors. Maybe a plant lived its life in shade and wanted a taste of sunlight. Its heart would be weak and easily susceptible to being controlled. Second Moon took advantage of the surrounding hearts and controlled them to his will. They all soon emitted the corrosion energy he let off, multiplying its effects on Huihe Ji.

Huihe Ji felt his own heart seize. His eyes constricted slightly but then he took in a deep breath and calmed back down. “So yer can control the hearts of other things too? Well yer ain’t the only one.” Suddenly a shocking pressure started to spread out from Huihe Ji’s body.

Right now his body was thin and slender, looking every bit different from his usual pudgy self. But now, a vortex sprang up around him, sucking in the surrounding energy. This energy bolstered his body and made him grow, his muscles grew, his hair became longer, and he became taller as well. He soon looked well built, like a bodybuilder. The greatsword in his hands soon looked like a regular straight sword. He gripped it in one hand and held it across his shoulder.

This was an upgraded version of the Gluttonous Sword Spirit technique he cultivated before. That technique required for him to eat a lot to absorb the spiritual energy in food to get stronger. But now he could directly absorb the energy of the surrounding area for a short period of time to gain tremendous strength.

“Time fo’ yer to die.” He said calmly. He stepped forward ever so slowly and appeared right in front of Second Moon. “There’s a reason my daoist title is Swordlife. I take the life in the surrounding area and use it to bolster myself and my here sword. With it I can easily kill a 1st Grade Earthly Rank cultivator.”

Slice! The greatsword in Huihe Ji’s hand swept across the throat of Second Moon, slicing off his head. It happened so fast that the eyes of Second Moon were still wide from shock. He didn’t even know how he died. His head rolled down off his shoulders. The blood from his body somehow, squirted out and floated in the air to form a ball of blood. That blood was then consumed by the greatsword forming an even deeper red.

“That’s a good lil Bloodblade Sword.” Huihe Ji took a step and reappeared in the middle of the red grass that he was sitting at previously. He let out a deep breath as his body returned to his normal slender self. He sat down cross legged and continued to meditate and await further orders.
