Chapter 80: Secluded Training

Eventually the crowd called out for Young Lord Tabet, Lord Tafei, and Great Lord Taple to raise their heads from their bow. After that the area filled with determination and expectance. All of the Scarlet Tigers, including the Lords, were determined to rise to new heights, and were expecting great things in the future.

Soon Great Lord Taple began giving orders to the tribe and giving them tasks to do to strengthen them up. There were going to be huge changes in the tribe so tasks had to be started immediately. Lord Tafei also began giving orders to the tribe members. As for Tabet, he didn’t give orders but cultivated much much harder.

In this fashion, half a month passed by quickly. Lord Tafei was tasked with leading expeditions out of the island to recruit other beasts to join them on the piece of land. Great Lord Taple worked on expanding the land of the island and making it bigger. He used his use of the Inner Elements of Fire, Earth, Sand, and Wood to create the land. He also blessed that land and the previous land with his Outer Element of Holy, that way it will be stronger and gather more energy from Heaven and Earth, making it a great place for cultivation.

Tabet was tasked with guiding the younger generation in cultivating and understanding elements and runes. With his age and talent, he was a perfect person to help the younger generation advance at a faster rate.

The whole tribe was put into motion as they worked together to become a much stronger force. Although it seemed chaotic, everything was extremely organized by Great Lord Taple. It made for smooth transitions for the tribe.

Akata didn’t want to get involved with the tribe so he asked Great Lord Taple for a secluded place where he could train. This was an easy matter so Great Lord Taple obviously agreed. Since then, Akata has been residing within his own cave separate from the tribe. He hadn’t interacted with the rest of the tribe since then, not even Tabet. It was quite peaceful for him and he actually enjoyed training in seclusion.

He didn’t really focus on cultivating at all, if any. He focused on attuning himself to his scythe with his increased strength. He worked on his techniques and gaining insights into runes and elements. Although training in seclusion was a bit slow, it made up for it by building a stable foundation and insights. Once he went out into the world, he could unleash these insights with the foundation he set up and grow at a tremendous speed.

“Actually, these runes are quite simple. They have a mysterious origin and are able to gather and guide the energy of Heaven and Earth. Yet, these were made in a simple manner. Clearly, whoever thought of making runes was an extremely powerful figure that made these as a hobby.” Akata said.

“Really? That’s what you think is the origin of these runes? You think that a powerful expert merely created them as a hobby, just for fun? And it just happened to be the most powerful tool in the mortal and immortal world? What brought you to this conjecture?” Noluck asked with a hint of ridicule and curiosity.

“Even I don’t dare to imagine what kind of existence had the power of devising and creating these runes. I would at least think that they had to spend incredible resources and effort in order to make them.”

“I think this because of the simplicity of the runes. They have a basic function and basic use. Nothing really spectacular about them until you want to start doing more complicated things. For instance if you just want to create a rune that gathers the energy of Heaven and Earth.” Akata raised his hand causing a dull rune to appear in his hand. “It is fairly simple to do even at my level of cultivation. But to create a rune that is able to cause the whole planet to shudder would be extremely complex and require a massive cultivation base.

The more simple a rune is the easier it is to create and you can also have a lower cultivation base, yet the more complex, the higher a cultivation base you need to create such a rune. The simple function of runes is to gather and guide the energy of Heaven and Earth which with magic is easy to do now, so back then I ‘m sure they had a way to do so too. And with how simple it is, I’m sure someone found it as a hobby to create other things that are able to do the same, thus runes.” Akata gave his explanation.

These were the insight he had gained regarding runes. It was deep and profound to the point that only he could truly understand what he meant by his words. It was so profound that he couldn’t exactly find the words to use to explain his point. But he tried his best anyways.

Noluck became silent as he listened to Akata’s explanation about the origin of runes. As he listened on, he came to the conclusion that it wasn’t such a farfetched idea as he had originally thought it out to be. Secretly he came to admire Akata’s prowess in gaining insights.

‘Gaining insights has to do with your mental ability. A lacking mental strength will make it so that you aren’t able to retain the knowledge you gain from something or be able to endure long enough to gain that knowledge in the first place. That means not only is his cultivation base astonishing, his mental fortitude is just as formidable.’Noluck mused to himself.

“Well any matter, your use of runes is still rudimentary at best. You have a long way to go when regarding runes. Although your cultivation base is lacking, you still have a lot of ways in which you can use runes yet you haven’t even scratched the surface yet. All you have done really is get a basic understanding of runes. Once you start exploring and using runes you’ll discover there are countless ways to incorporate runes in life.

Given enough time I am definitely sure you will become a great Runic Cultivator. And seeing as you are also on the path of plants you will become a fine Plant Cultivator as well. I can’t wait to see. Hmm. But even so you will still need to revive me and that requires a lot of strength. Since I’ve dwelled in your body I’ve been working on what level of strength would be needed to revive me, and I say you’ll need to at least reach the Fifth Rank.

In your cultivation path that would be the Demigod Rank I believe. Given your luck and speed it shouldn’t be that hard to reach that level within a thousand years or so. But just think, once you reach that level it will completely eclipse most of the beings on this planet. Ahh I can already see myself walking around enjoying life.” Noluck chuckled as talked.

Akata just sat blankly as he listened to Noluck. After all of these days in seclusion the only person he had to talk to was Noluck and so he had grown quite familiar to him. He had grown used to his talk of things he had yet to understand yet. So he didn’t even question Noluck anymore. He figured that the Demigod Rank had to be a high level of power since it was required to revive Noluck after all.

“Why do you keep saying revive if you’re obviously living right now? Wouldn’t I just be getting you a body or something?” This question constantly flitted through Akata’s mind and it was just now that he had asked it. Maybe he had asked before or Noluck had already mentioned it but Akata clearly had forgotten.

“I say revive because technically I am dead. In my last moments of life I used a technique to disperse my life upon the plants and nature in my vicinity therefore all of my life has been given out to nature. But what I didn’t account for was beasts to be in the area. Some of my life mixed in with theirs and I happened to absorb some of their life as well. Thus I regained some of my mind and live. To put it simply I am more like a half ghost or a half spirit so I need to be fully revived to actually live.” Noluck said.

“So that’s how it is then. Okay I see now. Well if it is like that then how come you haven’t possessed a living being to absorb all of their life and live. That way you can have a body and life?”

“Because all of the beings here are too low level and their life force is too low for me to live off of. If I was to possess one of you, I would only live for about a few years and then die off completely. Also if I tried to possess someone with enough life force for me to live, they would have to have been at least at my previous level or higher, but if they were then they would obviously have the strength to cast aside the possession and kill me off immediately. Therefore this is the most safest route.” Noluck said indifferently.

“I see then…” Akata was slightly astonished. He had no idea that the world could work like this. His horizons had truly been broadened since meeting with Noluck. “Well I might as well get back to training then.”

Akata stood up and lifted his scythe with his only hand. A scythe worked better as a two handed weapon but Akata only had one so he had to deal with it. He had to become accustomed to using it with one hand now and therefore he spent much more time with the scythe then he had before.

He raised it high in the air and caused a purple rune to appear in the air in front of him. The purple rune glittered brightly and it slowly transformed into a ball. The ball was normal and didn’t have any spectacular traits to it. It was yellow with a red stripe and no aura protruded from it.

Akata waved his scythe into the air and then swept it down toward the ball in front of him. The scythe moved with a fast speed and was soon on top of the ball.

Swish!

The ball simply bounced away toward the ground and then back up into the air again where it stayed.

Akata looked at it and then shook his head. “Again.” He said to himself.
