Akata opened his eyes and within could be seen calmness that didn’t match his age. It was an extreme sense of calm that told whoever looked within his gaze that he shouldn’t be messed with. “You can die now.” He spoke slowly.
“Wha… What did you just do?!” Noluck was instantly shocked by Akata’s actions. After the pressure from the Second Rank foe appeared he was sure that Akata was going to fail and die. But, not only did he live, he even did something that completely bewildered him to stop the tribulation… he rejected the help of heaven and hell! What kind of concept was that? Heaven and hell were what provided guidance to cultivators, to reject their help meant that Akata was basically going solo on cultivation. He would have to work many times harder to raise his strength and there was no going back.
Akata’s face was calm and he spoke indifferently. “I’m just using my own power to become strong.” After he said that, Akata immediately brought his full attention to the outside world and waved his hand. A scythe appeared and he swiped out toward the fairy that was flying in front of him.
The fairy was shocked but he was still an existence that reached the Second Rank so he wasn’t scared at all facing Akata’s attack. He waved his hand as boundless power pushed aside the scythe and struck towards Akata. “No. You can die.” The fairy spoke.
Akata turned into a black light and vanished from the spot in an instant. He reappeared a few meters back and out of the attack range.
Boom!
In his place where he was just standing was a huge crater. At first there was nothing save for soil and dirt in the crater but almost immediately afterwards plants and flowers started to sprout within. Countless leaves appeared and blanketed over the plants and filled the crater up.
‘He seems to have great control over the Inner Element of Leaves and the Outer Elements of Life and Yang.’ Akata thought to himself as he saw the plants growing from the crater. Akata had a much deeper understanding of elements since he just created his own. He was more attuned to how they functioned and what energies they interacted with. With a glance he could tell what elements this fairy was proficient in.
‘Inner Element of Leaves. Outer Elements of Life and Yang. Cultivation at the Second Rank. And a fairy. This creature has many secrets. Coupled with the fact that he lives within Misty Forest, I can’t take him lightly at all otherwise we’ll all die.’ Akata thought to himself.
Whoosh! Before Akata could think about attacking the fairy, a black vine tendril that looked to be made of metal shot towards it. Not only that but two streaks of golden sword lights and a silver arrow shot toward the fairy as well. The three attacks were filled with top class might that could threaten those at the peak of the First Rank when combined.
Clank. Clank. Clank. The fairy waved its hand as a leaf filled with boundless life appeared and wrapped around it. The metallic vine, the sword streaks, and the arrow all bounced off of the leaf and left no damage to the fairy.
“Trifling humans! I’m a fairy with a cultivation at the 1st Grade of the Sprite Rank! That’s equivalent to what you humans call the Earthly Rank, you aren’t worthy of going against me. I’m going to slaughter you all and eat you to strengthen myself. If it wasn’t for this brat disturbing the heavenly energy in the surroundings I would’ve just left you all alone. Who am I kidding, I would’ve picked a few of you up for a light snack later on, hehe.”
The fairy seemed to be crazed for the taste of human flesh and blood. There was good reason too. Some species of fairies were unique in that they could strengthen themselves with blood. They especially found human blood rich with nutrients and it was an absolute delicacy for them. Because most fairies didn’t like to be disturbed and loved loneliness, they kept their distance from cultivators who would often hunt them down for their wings and other valuable treasures. But for some crazed and evil fairies, to satisfy their cravings and hunger, they would hide out in mortal cities and feed off of them. The mortals, in turn, came to call these creatures vampires.
Not all fairies were bloodsucking creatures, however. Some were kind and benevolent and sought to rid the mortal cities of the evil fairies, they were known as vampire hunters. Those that loved all life and brought blessings came to be known as gods and goddesses. In any case, fairies were actually not as rare as one might think. But to humans they were a rare creature. At first they thought all fairies were benevolent but seeing this one in front of their eyes, the group had a whole new understanding.
The cultivators could see that this fairy was a deranged maniac that was looking to kill and eat them. It might have came for Akata at first, but now it was out to get them all. Most of them were too weak to even think about facing this creature. The only ones who barely had a chance were the leaders of the groups. So while the groups were fighting the beast horde the leaders would fight the fairy.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“Basik Bufmann lead half of the group in fighting the beasts, cooperate with the other groups in establishing control of the situation. Sumting Wong take the two best long range fighters and help with the flying beasts. Bur Gers use your healing abilities to treat the injured. Laim Oh lead the rest in flanking the beasts away from the Central Circle.” Akata quickly gave orders to his group. Before they were just fighting randomly with the others but now that they had some order the beasts could only fall back due to the cooperation of the cultivators.
“Peizhi Xiuying, Cho Re, Sno Re… And Fang Zuwa please help me take care of this bastard.” Akata spoke calmly. Peizhi Xiuying, Sno Re, and Cho Re acknowledged but then looked confused. They were wondering why Akata had called out Fang Zuwa… unless.
Just as they were thinking a gray robed figure flashed out of the forest and appeared beside some beasts. With a flash of his hand a fog appeared around those beasts and soon their flesh was devoured and they died a soundless death. It was none other than Fang Zuwa! A group of people appeared behind him and he quickly gave them orders to assist everyone as he made his way to where the fairy was. Surprisingly… he had broken through to the 8th Grade! He was just at the 7th Grade a few days ago.
“Mn.” Fang Zuwa nodded his head. He was already close by just like Peizhi Xiuying and Cho Re and Sno Re’s groups were but he was a bit farther. It took him a while to get into range to notice that a large battle was going on. As soon as he did he felt terrifying auras and strength that matched the Earthly Rank. He decided to lend help if he could but if not he was going to slip away. After hearing the words of the fairy, however, he knew that if he ran away he would still be targeted. It would be better to stand as a group and have a chance than to be by himself.
The five leaders grouped up together and stood side by side as they looked at the fairy in front of them. Akata stood in the center as everyone felt that his aura was terrifying and they concluded that he had the most strength out of all of them.
The fairy let them group up, because as he saw it, even if all of them teamed up they couldn’t stand up to his power. “Gather as many as you want, you’ll all eventually become my strength.” The fairy snickered as he gazed across the five of them.
“Heh.” Akata actually gave a slight chuckle which instantly off setted the solemn atmosphere. The leaders looked at him and so did the fairy. “You may think we’re normal… but all of us were trained to be monsters.”
“What do you mean?” the fairy originally didn’t put them in his eyes but from Akata’s eerily calm demeanor and strange words it couldn’t help but have a weird feeling deep down.
Akata didn’t answer as he swung his scythe toward the fairy. He executed the straightforward and fast move of the World Omen, Guillotine Slice. He aimed straight for the neck of the fairy and attacked without warning. Akata liked to attack straightforwardly without any tricks. This was how he killed in the trials.
Seeing Akata attack the others obviously didn’t stand there any longer. Cho Re was the most explosive combatant as he held his hand out and Goldsun Energy appeared and formed a mighty warhammer which he swung out. He was overbearing and straight forward as well. Clearly, he liked to straight power to fight his opponents.
Sno Re summoned forth his Silvermoon Energy and created a longbow in his hands. He pulled back the string and instantly a few arrows appeared within his grasp. Releasing the string the arrows flew straight toward the fairies vital parts.
Fang Zuwa raised his palm toward the fairy as a dense ball made of gray fog appeared in front of it. “Mental Abrasion.” He spoke as the ball of fog shot toward the fairy in a smoky fashion. Feeling the aura of the ball, the leaders couldn’t help but feel apprehensive in their hearts. Just looking at it made them feel as if their mental world was eroding.
Peizhi Xiuying opened her hand as a white Demonic Spirit Poppy appeared within. It bloomed and instantly an aura of illusions sprang out and filled the area. Her fingers twitched and the white flower was soon overcome by darkness as if turned completely black. The illusion aura became tens of times stronger as a result. “Illusions Field.” She spoke coldly and she threw the flower toward the fairy.
Five strong attacks from five of the top disciples in the sect were launched at one person. This kind of strength would be enough to eradicate anyone under the Second Rank. It even had the strength to injure those at the Second Rank.
The fairy watched as the attacks came toward its body. It let out a roar as its body suddenly grew to the size of an average adult male. The wings on his back stopped fluttering and he stood there watching the attacks come.
Akata’s attack was the fastest and it was the first one that was unleashed. The fairy raised its hand toward the scythe light and a green ball of energy appeared within its palm. The green light transformed into a single leaf which rapidly expanded. The leaf rolled itself up an looked more like a sword in the fairy’s hand. With a swipe, boundless energy of life and yang exploded and broke apart the scythe light.
Boom! The scythe light exploded, not even getting close to the fairy. The fairy grabbed the leaf sword with two hands and raised it above his head. He then rapidly swung down and a streak of sword light arced out toward the warhammer.
Bang! The Goldsun Warhammer was pushed back with minimal effort and Cho Re was flung back. The fairy switched back to one hand as the leaf sword seemed to become translucent and ghostly. The arrows flying towards it soon fell to the ground before they could get too close. All of them were sliced in half from the arrowhead to the tail.
Not even looking, the fairy raised his hand toward the ball of fog heading its way as a green ball of energy formed in his other hand. The green ball transformed into a giant leaf which floated in front of his palm and waited for the ball of gas. Once it approached the leaf wrapped up the ball of gas. The fairy closed his hand into the shape of a fist and the leaf squeezed the ball of fog until it dispersed and broke apart into nothingness.
The now wrapped up leaf ball was then thrown into the air where it collided with the Demonic Spirit Poppy. The fairy slashed its leaf sword once more toward the leaf ball where it exploded and destroyed the black flower into bits and pieces.
“Is that all you monsters have?” The fairy spoke and dense disdain could be seen on his face. He gave a cold snort and looked at the humans he thought were worthless existences. “My turn.”
