Chapter 121: End Of The Cabin Trials

Chapter 121: End Of The Cabin Trials

Looking around, Akata found that it was still nighttime in the sect. Almost no time had passed at all. Even the disciples were about in the same place that they had been when he left. It looked as if only a few minutes had passed in the real world.

Akata had been scared that the time in the other world was the same as the real one and that he had missed the war. But then he thought that it would have been absurd and that if everyone had taken this trial then there would be a lot less disciples around. They would all still be taking this trial if that were the case. The only possibility of this trial being effective would be if… “So it is the Space-time Scenario Chamber after all.” Akata said calmly.

He looked at the various disciples around and some of them looked at him frightened. They all knew what this trial tested. It was a trial testing one’s ability to kill whatever target there was without problem. There would even be creatures with higher cultivation bases than yours, greater insights into elements, and strange abilities.

To be on the top ten list one had to be very skilled in killing others. And the one’s with frightened looks had noticed the leaderboards changing and took note that there was a new number 1. And he was standing right in front of them.

Akata didn’t pay them any attention as he simply strode to the 2nd Cabin Trial which was the final Cabin Trial. He stopped just outside of the doorway and thought, ‘I hope this doesn’t change me like the last one did.’ With that he took a step forward into the teleportation portal.

When Akata opened his eyes again he could feel something cold on his wrists and ankles. When he looked down he could see that he was chained up. The chains were rusty and were covered in old blood stains, clearly they had been used before.

When Akata looked around he found a familiar view. “The Moon Forest Clan.” He said softly. There were people roaming around and he could also hear and see others being tortured. “Humph. It seems I’ll have to cleanse this place again.” Akata raised his arm which shook and rattled the iron chains and tried to break free. Only, he found out that his cultivation base was sealed off. He virtually had no power to break free.

He soon heard a voice nearby. “Eh? Is the runt awake finally? Hehe. Let’s go take a look.” With a whoosh, a door swung open and revealed five different figures. Some were men some women with two being children.

“Ahaha. You finally woke up runt. You’re probably wondering where you are and why you’re here right now. Well I’ll tell you simply. This is the Moon Forest Clan. It’s not a clan that specializes in fighting, or growing medicinal plants, or anything like that. The only purpose of our clan is to…” The woman licked her lips. “The purpose of our clan is simply to perfect our art of torture and collect the souls of vengeful spirits. We use those spirits to power ourselves, either by infusing them in weapons or tools or simply to consume them directly.

To put it bluntly, you will be one of those vengeful spirits. I hope that you will resent us from the bottom of your soul and wish upon your life to seek our death if you ever make it out. But… you will never see the light of the outside world. You will forever be kept and tortured here until the day you die with all of your grievances.

You might be wondering why I’m telling you this and well it’s simple really. We want you to know the despair you are going to feel throughout the rest of your life. Heh. You’re so young you probably don’t even understand everything that I’m saying. No matter. We’ll teach you from this day forth. Milu, commence with the treatment.”

A young boy, only about 10 years old stepped forward with a dagger in his hands. He had a grotesque smile on his face and he eyed Akata as if he were a toy. He raised the dagger to Akata’s throat and slid it down until it reached his wrist. With a flick of his own wrist he sliced open a small part and watched as the blood trickled down.

The blood seemed to give him ecstasy and he slashed again and again, over and over. Each slash would flay off a piece of skin from Akata’s body. He started to laugh and continued on. At first he started off fast but then gradually slowed down. He wasn’t getting tired but instead, thought about making it more painful for Akata.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

After half an hour, Akata was completely  bloodied up and barely any skin could be seen on his arms and some parts of his legs. The rest of the people simply watched and laughed right along with the young boy. “Good.” The woman from earlier said. “Raise him up.”

With that, two men stepped up and got to either side of Akata. They pulled some levers and the chains on Akata started to move as his body was raised into the air to hang. “Pilu, cut them off.”

A young girl about 7 years old stepped forward with a rusty knife in her hands. She had an even colder and ugly smile on her face. She stepped up to Akata and sliced off the pants that he was wearing. Now, all of Akata’s body was exposed before them. The young girl pressed the rusty knife against his skin and slid it down softly around his crotch area.

Akata started to wiggle around intensely, trying to get the girl to stop. His wailing and screaming from having his skin slowly flayed off of his body made his voice too hoarse to even talk softly.

The girl on the other hand seemed to feel even enticed from Akata’s actions. The woman in the back simply laughed and nodded her head at the girl. The girl nodded back and with a swish, the rusty blade cut into Akata’s crotch area and separated his manhood from his body.

It fell onto the ground where it collected some dust. “Fiend, come here boy.” The woman said and a dog appeared and ate it up with a gulp. All of the people in the room laughed. After that, they all left Akata hanging there in the air, naked and dripping blood.

This was how life was in this trial. Every morning a group of people would come to torture him in countless different ways, and every night they would leave him to dry. They would cut off his fingers and toes sometimes, or stick small daggers in his body and leave them, or even burn his flesh until it fell of of him.

The worst part was at the end of every week, they would treat him so that he could recover so that they could torture him alive for longer. It was a grueling cycle that persisted for many months and soon years.

Akata simply just waited for his moment to exact revenge. Throughout all of this time, it was as if his pain tolerance was nonexistent. He felt every last feeling of torture. But even then, he didn’t beg to be released, he simply endured the pain and suffering each day waiting for his chance to exact vengeance.

He forgot how long he had been waiting, but then one day something happened. A young man walked into the place Akata was suspended. As soon as Akata saw his face, memories flitted through his mind. This was the same man from the previous trial that caused Akata to cleanse this clan in the first place.

The young man saw him but all he did was smile a warm smile. He had an axe in his hand. He walked up to Akata and said in a warm voice, “Young lad, this is just the way the world runs. Reality can be like this and well, this is your reality now.” With that he swung the axe and chopped off one of Akata’s feet.

“Well? Do you feel resentment for us? Do you wish to kill our whole clan? You’re never going to have the chance to. You’ll die here like the rest of the people and creatures before you. Nothing and no one is coming to save you. It’s cruel when you think about it, but this is happening not just in this clan but all over the universe. Haha.” The young man laughed a warm laugh as he swung and chopped off another foot.

Akata winced and looked the old man in the eyes, conflicting emotions rising up. Finally he said, “I don’t have to be released and exact revenge myself. My next life I will cleanse this whole clan from this world. If I can’t do it in my next life then my other life will. Who know’s I might be a meteor and smash into this place, or I could be a disease that wipes this place clean. If a random death incurs just know that it was me.”

Akata’s voice was calm to the point of being scary. There wasn’t a trace of killing intent laced within it but one could tell that Akata was very much so serious. This type of calm voice mixed in with the words caused the young man’s face to turn serious. He had never encountered somebody so calm before, especially after being tortured for many years.

All of a sudden fear started to rise up on his face. He edged backwards and then briskly walked out of the room. Akata simply watched him leave, mixed emotions on his face.

At the end of the week, Akata was having all of his injuries healed from the week’s worth of torture. Sure, he would be healed but his cultivation base was still sealed off. After being healed, he would be hung back up and would wait for morning to come for him to begin his next week’s worth of torture.

At night, the door slid open. Akata opened his eyes from his sleep to see who it was. This was strange because torture happened only in the morning when the sun was out and never when the moon was. In the doorway slipped an odd creature that was covered in scales and black skin. It had spikes protruding from its body and head.

It walked up to Akata and then said softly, “I’m getting you out of here.” It raised its hand and its fingers turned into claws. With a swing of its claws it broke apart the chains that Akata were strapped to. Akata fell to the ground with a thud and looked up at the creature.

It looked devilish and had an air of madness surrounding it. The creature looked at Akata and said warmly, “My only wish is that you don’t exact revenge, you have your whole life left and should use it to do greater things. From your actions you’re more of a demon than I am. Heh. I’ll bestow you with something nice then. Once you get it, leave and never return.”

“This clan killed and tortured my own wife before, because she wasn’t apart of this clan. At the time I was afraid to get revenge and it turned me into a cold killer. But then I started to not even care about killing others and soon I had an indifference about the lives of others. But you…” The creature paused. “You have a calmness that strikes the soul. It’s enough to even put fear in me. You don’t have to wait for your next life to cleanse this clan, I’ll be the one to do it in this life. Now leave.”

The creature swiped its claws in Akata’s direction and a white light flashed into Akata’s dantion region. Then Akata was teleported out. When he reappeared he was outside of the Second Cabin Trial.
