In the months that he had gotten to know the old man, Akata became attached to him. It was a sort of attachment where they would have each other’s backs. And right now, Akata had the old man’s back. His face was devoid of any emotion as he steadily walked to the clan building.
During all this time, the old man had Akata kill numerous beasts creatures. There was even a few times where Akata was attacked by people and ended up having to injure them badly in order to stop their pursuit. Although all of those targets had come from this book, this was different. Akata was doing this for himself, not the old man’s sake.
Soon, he stopped moving. Looking up, Akata saw the gates of the clan. Moon Forest Clan. Akata held out his hand and the Bludhaven Scythe appeared. He walked toward the entrance where some guards were located at.
One guard instantly stopped him. “Halt! What do you think you’re doing runt? Care to tell me your intentions with that thing?” The guard obviously didn’t put Akata in his eyes.
“Tell me where are the people who were sent to murder the old man.” Akata said emotionlessly. Tears could be seen forming in his eyes.
“Eh? Who are you? I don’t know what you’re talking about runt. Leave before we have make you ourselves.” As the guard spoke, the others around him released their cultivation base to put pressure upon Akata.
Akata was still a kid so he didn’t know how he should go about getting the information he wanted. The best and only way he knew about was asking directly. “Just tell me where they are!” Akata yelled out. “They just killed the old man and they came from this clan!”
“Hahaha! It looks like you were close to that trash of an old man, huh? Well we might as well take you to go see him then.” Another guard called out. He had a flask of alcohol in his hand and was wobbly, clearly he was drunk.
A guard that was close to him shot him a menacing glare and then smacked him in the face. “You drunk imbecile! Ugh! Now we have to deal with this runt of a kid. Let’s go.” He didn’t bother with anymore words as charged toward Akata.
“Hey kid. I guess the secret is out. Well I’ll tell you exactly where the murderers are, they’re all over the place. That old man tried to blackmail our clan so we kidnapped and tortured his beloved wife and until she died. Everyone in the clan took part in it, the ladies cracked a whip on her soft skin and the men and boys had fun with her nice body. We finally found out he was in town so we sent a squad to kill him as well. None of this should matter to you though as you’re about to die as well.” A menacing smile appeared on the guard’s face.
Akata couldn’t help but be utterly disgusted by this. Just what kind of a clan was this? It would be something to have a small group of people to participate but the whole clan? This was extreme to a whole new level. Akata found himself feeling a repulsive feeling toward this whole clan.
The guard didn’t even bother to use any weapons as he made to grab for Akata’s throat. Akata on the other hand simply watched as the man approached. As he got closer, Akata got the feeling of being even more disgusted and wanted to get away from this man as soon as possible.

‘No getting away won’t work. This clan is simply repulsive. What kind of a place actually permits this kind of behavior? It’s just sick. Even being on the same planet as him makes me sick to my stomach.’ Akata was actually feeling nauseous from looking at the man and literally wanted to throw up.
All of a sudden Akata felt a sense of danger. He became conscious of reality and looked as the man’s hand was a few inches away from his throat. Lifting his scythe in the air unconsciously and swiping it downwards, Akata used his fastest attack, Guillotine Slice.
Instantly the man stopped moving and just stood in place. Then his body started to tremble slightly then vigorously. He turned around slowly to face the other guards whose mouths opened with shock and fear. A huge gash could be seen on his chest extending from the top of his head to his abdomen. The man soon collapsed to the ground and died right there.
Everything fell silent. Akata looked at the man’s body and shivered. He had just killed somebody. But he wasn’t shivering because of that, he shivered because he felt a sense of release. He felt much more cleaner than before.
He wasn’t against killing people who wanted him dead in the first place. But what he was against was killing people who he saw as innocent. The old man had asked him to kill a person one day and Akata outright refused to do it. But he didn’t let this incident get in his head as the old man’s attitude was just too kind.
But now, Akata felt much more purer after killing this man. Almost euphoric. It was a feeling of complete bliss, something he had never felt before after killing something.
‘These people are all corrupt and should be erased from this world. I should be the one to cleanse this place.’ Akata thought in his mind. His eyes and face became a lot more calm. To see a cold glow immediately change to a calm one was much more frightening than seeing killing intent.
Akata had killed many beasts and had grown used to calmly killing them. At this moment, Akata viewed these people in front of him as savage creatures without any principles. In other words they were literal beasts in his mind.
Looking at one guard Akata transformed into a black light and then was right in front of him. The guard didn’t even have a chance to look into Akata’s face before his head was cut off from his shoulders. Akata felt enlivened and much more at peace.
He continued his slaughter on the rest of the guards. Seeing his actions, they definitely weren’t in the mood to take on Akata. They ran for their lives inside of the clan village but Akata followed them.
As soon as he entered, Akata became utterly disgusted. It wasn’t just because he viewed the clan this way but because of the actual clan village itself. There could be seen stakes everywhere that were covered in blood and gore. Some even had corpses attached to them. There were many people chained up and at any home there could be seen at least one person being tortured.
Seeing this scene made Akata’s eyes go bloodshot. But they soon became calm again. “I’ll clean this place up.” He took a step forward and killed one of the guards who had ran away. Then killed another.
The people here were particularly strong. The Patriarch of the clan was merely at the 4th Grade to say nothing of the others. It was simplicity in itself to kill these people for Akata. Soon, an utter massacre occurred until there were no clan members left.
Akata had thought about leaving the kids behind but once he saw a small child slowly slicing off the skin of a living breathing little baby, that thought quickly left his mind. He killed off everyone in the Moon Forest Clan.
Akata was left standing there in an empty village. He had freed all of the living people that had managed to stay alive. For those that had no chance to survive he ended their life as quickly and as painlessly as possible.
‘The old man had this whole evil village on his hitlist.’ Akata held the old man’s book in his hand and looked through it. Now that he did he felt disgusted. ‘These must all be evil creatures that must be exterminated.’ Akata thought quite calmly. ‘I clean them for you old man.’
It was then that Akata went on his journey to cleanse this world of everything that was within this book. He spent many days and nights hunting and killing everything from beasts, to mortals, to cultivators, and even plants. In the end he managed to assassinate hundreds of different targets.
His skill with the scythe drastically improved after this trial. His assassination skills became nearly perfect and he found out he had a knack for killing quickly. All of his skills from his movement to his attacks fit perfectly together. Almost as if he were made for killing.
Going through this trial really changed Akata’s outlook on the world around him. Once he killed the last target in the book he was teleported back to the real world. He looked much more mature and an air of danger surrounded him. Surprisingly, he was also number 1 in this trial.
