As soon as Akata appeared he noticed how different this place felt from the others. It was as if there was an energy present that felt familiar to him but was something that he knew he didn’t know about. It was a weird feeling but nonetheless he accepted the task.
Akata walked to the edge of the island and looked over it. Down below he saw nothing but clouds and up above he saw nothing but more clouds. Judging by the color of the clouds and part of the sky he could see, it looked to be that the sun was either about to set or was just rising. The sky was a warm orange color and made for a great view.
Akata looked across and saw the other island far off in the distance. There was no path for him to take only empty air. There was no way for people in the Mortal Rank to fly so that was out of the question. At most they could float a bit but that was definitely not enough to get him across to the other island. Thinking logically, there was no way to get to the other island.
“Should I just have faith and walk across?” Testing out whether there was an invisible bridge Akata couldn’t feel anything so all he could do was trust that there was something that would get him across. The words of the voice resurfaced in his mind. “The voice said to just walk across and make it as far as I could. So that’s what I’m going to do.”
Akata took in a deep breath and fully stepped off of the island that he was on. He fell for a short distance but then landed on a bridge nonetheless. He figured something like this would happen, but what he didn’t account for was the pain that would wrack his brain as soon as he stepped foot on the bridge.
It was a sharp pain that seemed to attack an unknown energy that was within him. An energy that seemed apart of him yet couldn’t be used at the moment. Even after a moment passed the pain continuously attacked him. That unknown energy within his brain, however, seemed to be stimulated slightly as if it was about to awaken.
“Eh? What is this?” The pain was small and barely to Akata was negligent, almost nonexistent to him, however, the unknown energy within him was intriguing. “It’s almost like my nature sense. Wait.” Akata soon came to a startling conclusion. “Could this actually be my divine sense? But isn’t that supposed to awaken once you step into the Earthly Rank? How could it be stimulating now?” Akata questioned aloud.
“Did you say divine sense? It’s supposed to only awaken once someone steps into the Second Rank. Which in your case would be the Earthly Rank or the Flora Rank. It can’t possibly be divine sense that you’re feeling right now. Unless…” Noluck went silent for a moment. “Unless they are forcibly awakening your divine sense early. I’ve heard that only extremely powerful sects and clans can do this but only one’s that are basically filled with immortals and gods. For this low sect to be able to do it is absolutely absurd and unheard of.” Noluck just couldn’t believe it no matter what.
“This place just keeps getting weirder and weirder. First with the Outer Element technique and now this? There has to be something up with this sect. It can’t possibly be simple.”
“Well that’s why it is considered the most mysterious sect in all of the Divine Crystal Continent.” Akata jokingly said. Without another thought he stepped forward. The pain in his great grew more intense but again it wasn’t worth paying attention to for him.

He strode forward in a seemingly relaxed manner. As he came closer to the other island the pain that was in his brain grew stronger as did the feeling of the unknown energy. As the pain became stronger so did the feeling of awakening.
It wasn’t until Akata was halfway when he started to slightly whence at the pain that was wracking his brain. It was getting much more intense and at the same time the feeling of awakening was stronger than ever. Gritting his teeth he held on and continued to walk as far as he could.
At some point in time, Akata started to take breaks to become accustomed to the pain faster. His breaks started out short at first but soon became longer and longer. By the time he was a third of the distance away, his eyes were bloodshot and he was forcibly dragging himself as he trudged along.
By this time, he noticed that he wouldn’t be able to make it to the other island. Through gritted teeth, Akata gave up on the trial. He was quickly teleported out of the Eighth Cabin Trial where he stood in the doorway. Immediately a new sense enveloped the area. It spread far and wide and covered everything in a hundred meter radius.
Akata took in a deep breath. This was divine sense that he was letting out. And it wasn’t weak either but actually kind of strong. It filled him with power and brought a sense of confidence. “This trial actually awakened my divine sense and fed it power. If everyone in the sect took this trial then every single disciple should have awakened their divine sense early.” Akata was badly shocked. And not just him but Noluck as well.
He clearly could tell how astounding and unbelievable this event was. If every disciple in this sect was able to awaken their divine sense then what kind of force would they be? Some of the disciple’s divine sense had to be even stronger than most Second Rank cultivators who were learning about it. This was a terrifying thought.
The pain in Akata’s brain instantly vanished the moment he was teleported out and was replaced with a feeling of utter power. He was enlivened and immediately went to challenge the next trial. He wanted more. These trials could help him to grow much more powerful. He already had a power that only those at the Second Rank could unlock, what else could he possibly earn? He wanted to know right now.
He took a quick glance at the top ten list of the Eighth Cabin Trial and stopped in place. His name was in 3rd place. Above him in 2nd was actually Jiandan Fuza. And as for 1st place… it was Peizhi Xiuying! Akata’s mouth hung open as he looked at the name in 1st place. Soon he smiled and then continued on to the Seventh Cabin Trial.
He wasn’t aiming for the best position on each trial. He just wanted to know where he stacked up against everybody. Some people were better at some trials than others and that clearly showed. Akata was ranked 1st in the Tenth Cabin Trial due to his insane battle prowess. But was ranked 3rd in the Eighth Cabin Trial. This was because his talent laid in nature sense and not divine sense. The two sense naturally combatted each other making it much more difficult for Akata to awaken his divine sense.
Akata stepped into the doorway of the Seventh Cabin Trial and was teleported to a fiery world. This was a trial of body strength. He was constantly assaulted by fiery winds that seared his clothes and skin. But in turn it made his body stronger and much more resilient. In the end, he ended up breaking through to the 10th Grade in terms of body strength and took 1st place.
Even further anxious Akata challenged the Sixth Cabin Trial which was a trial of reflexes and perception. He was teleported to a place that constantly switched between night and day. With his nature sense and speed he was easily able to acquire 1st place and even gained enlightenment of how to perfectly combine his Shadowfeet and Lunarsun Steps movement skills.
The Fifth Cabin Trial was a trial of soul power. With Akata’s soul being twice as strong as others he was able to take 1st in this trial too.
The Fourth Cabin Trial was a trial of control. He was teleported to an empty void and was stuck there. Until he learned to perfectly control the energy that naturally releases from the body he wouldn’t be able to move. He was quite fast and ended up gaining 4th place.
In the Third Cabin Trial, Akata had to hunt down several targets and kill them. With each target killed, they would get harder to find and deal with. Obviously the more you killed the tougher it would be. In this trial, Akata was thrown into a wild world covered in forests.
He looked around at the wilderness. Out of nowhere an old man with a fishing rod came walking toward him from out of nowhere.
“Hey, there young lad. Would you please do me a favor and catch me some fish. But not just any fish, I want a Poisontrap Fish.” He held up a picture of the fish and then handed it over to Akata.
Akata looked at the picture and then nodded his head. ‘So all I have to do is get this fish? It has to be spectacular.’ He mused to himself.
