Possible Auction

Isaiah peeked at his calendar then looked back at Terry, his schedule today was tight then, “Anything else you wanna talk about? My schedule is quite busy today.”, he asked.

Terry nodded, pulling out a flyer from his vest, and put it on Isaiah’s desk, prompting him to peek at the contents of the flyer.

First of all whoever designed it must have spent a lot of time as this was beyond the standard of the market, which made sense as it was for a noble-exclusive auction that would take place in a month from now on.

Isaiah looked back up at Terry, “You know this is a noble-exclusive event right? Can you invite outsiders?” Terry nodded, “Exactly, while I currently lack the cash for it, there is an item that I want that's gonna be auctioned here. If you agree to get me that item then I will use my invite to let you also participate in the event.”

Isaiah tapped his fingers on his desk, “It's nice and all but.. How much exactly are we roughly talking about here? Also what is this item?”, since it was gonna be auctioned he knew that the price would fluctuate but there still had to be a rough market price for it.

Terry coughed awkwardly, “Around 200.000 GC”, Isaiah chuckled at the ridiculous price, his current renovation of the entire half of the casino costed him a measly 8k GC coupling it with the mana gems he would have to buy, it totaled to be 18k GC. The price of the item was truly astronomic.

“What even is this item to deserve such a price? Does it directly ascend you to Rank 3 or something?”, he joked, Terry however didn’t laugh as there was some truth to it, “Well its a fertilized egg of an Fire Wyvern, If i can raise it and observe how its flames develop over time as it grows, the insights I would gain would be helpful in upgrading my own flames to a devastating level,”, Isaiah raised an eyebrow, it was indeed a rare item, needing at least two Fire Wyvern of opposite genders to mate and hoping the eggs could be retrieved.

“And what's in it for me? You seem to have some inside knowledge of the items being auctioned.” he inquired, Terry however shook his head, “I only got the knowledge of the egg, but I doubt the other items would disappoint you, most nobles sell precious items that don’t match with their innate elements. I don’t doubt there will be plenty of light items since it's a rather rare element hence not many buyers are available in the first place.”

Isaiah nodded, most nobles sold the items that didn’t match their innate element to large noble houses for example if you found a fire element item your first choice would be to sell it to Incendio house, but sometimes either when the house isn’t interested or the value of the item is simply too high, items end up in auctions.

Isaiah was both blessed and cursed due to his innate element being light, he could buy the items related to helping grow innate light understanding easily due to there not being many light elemental mages to compete with but also there weren’t many light items in the first place due to the lack of demand from the market, this however didn’t drop the prices of all the light items only the ones that purely focused on helping grow your understanding of your innate element would have their prices lowered, as light items with their flexible applications could still be used for many things beyond just that.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

Light elemental items market was a weird one, as either there was little to no demand or everyone would jump to get it, highly dependent on the application of the item unlike other elements which sold like hotcakes regardless.

Isaiah checked his calendar, but in reality he was going though his finances in his mind, currently he didn’t have the money nor would his casino generate that much in a month but it didn’t mean there was no way of gathering the money,“Hmm, My schedule is a bit busy these days, will let you know if I can participate in a week.” Terry nodded hearing his words, he knew Isaiah was a busy guy also coupled with his half of his casino being wrecked he didn't mind waiting a week for his decision.

As Terry left flying off the gaping hole, Isaiah turned back to his work, he was busy coming up with a few formations, it was going a little rough so far, they either didn’t work or did at the cost of a monstrous amount of mana which would make them unprofitable, “Hmm, what to do?”

Just as he was busy pondering Lily knocked on his door, “Sir, your uncle has arrived to visit you.”, Isaiah yelled back, “Let him in.”

Lily opened the door as Louie walked in, a huge smile appearing on his face as he saw the destroyed room, “Will I ever see this place intact I wonder”, Isaiah chuckled hearing him and gestured for him to take a seat, “Welcome, I can roughly guess why you are here even though we didn’t make prior arrangements.”

Louie nodded, “Sharp as always”, he took the seat and got to talking, “A few of my friends have heard of your formation cards and they want to invest in it, what do you think?”

Isaiah leaned back into his seat, deep in thinking, his fingers tapping on his desk making a melody, “Who would these friend of your be?”, he inquired.

Louie responded, “A few of them are high profile investors and a few are nobles interested in the technology.”, Isaiah nodded, having roughly guessed the profile of the interested parties, “Tell them I do not need investment money, but am willing to provide their entire business and families a discount if they help me with acquisition of the properties that the towers will be built upon.”

Louie was intrigued by what heard, “Do you really have the money?”, prompting Isaiah to laugh, and shake his head, “Of course not, but tell them I do.”, he then explained, “I’m not looking to give others any decision making opportunities within the company.”, one of the reasons he was doing this project was the political it would provide him if he could spread his net wide enough, he wasn't looking to share that.

Louie didn’t mind this but asked, “What’s the details of this discount you are offering?” Isaiah took a pen an paper, and wrote down the details, with a flick of his wrist he slid it in front of Louie, who managed to catch it before it fell off the table, “1% discount for each family member of employee up to 60% in total.”, he thought about it, “Seems good.”
