...3 DAYS LATER...
Isaiah was inside his house, it was deep within the night. He wore a full white suit, his face was also covered by a blank white mask. While it might seem inconvenient to wear all white when trying to be stealthy, it was a necessary choice.
Since white would allow him to more easily manipulate light that was reflected off his clothes, letting him turn invisible easier as opposed to wearing full black which if he wasn't a light mage would make more sense to adorn.
Today was the day before the bidding would come to an end, and the property would be sold. He had bid enough to make himself the third-highest bidder. Even if he wanted to outbid Star and House, he simply didn't have enough resources at his disposal.
He stood on his window's edge, looking down on the empty streets. The colors on his body suddenly became blurry until he was invisible! This was one of the spells he had come up with for his assassination.
He jumped from the building, slowly floating down to the street with the formations under his feet. THUD, he landed. He activated another set of formations under his feet and started running. He ran at shocking speed, moving through more than ten streets within just a few dozen seconds. This was the improved version of his "360 Degree Movement Formation," which, when combined with his running speed, resulted in shocking speeds.
He sped through the streets like a ghost. He came to an abrupt halt when he arrived in front of a huge wall, behind which was a large mansion. In every single corner of it stood a guard, and they all looked extra careful.
This was the renowned House Mansion. He knew that Jacob House was within the house along with his family. Because the bidding war was nearing its end, there were many eyes on both the Star Family and the House Family. Isaiah had managed to buy information regarding their whereabouts from sources within the Second Emperor district, which opposed both families. He had managed to get their information through his uncle.
He jumped over the fence. Once he was within the property, he stood still while spreading his mana, trying to weed out any detection formations. As a formation expert, he knew how to detect detection formations without triggering them. He needed to look for irregularities within the flow of mana. He soon found not one but five whole formations he suspected to be detection formations. He didn't deactivate them but simply avoided them.
He managed to make his way from the garden to the main property. He grabbed the house's columns and started climbing atop the roof. Once there, he placed his hand on the roof and activated the formation he had created for this very special occasion, "Silent Explosion Formation." There was no sound, but mana gushed around, and a huge hole was created on the roof.

He got inside the hole and found himself in a large hallway. He didn't dare spread his mana, as that would most likely lead to him being detected.
He approached one of the doors, placed his palm on it, and placed a formation on it, but he didn't activate it just yet. With his other hand, he spent entire minutes creating another formation, "Light Cannon Formation." It was a short-range heat beam with immense power. He exploded the door and, at the same time, while the sound-proofing was still in effect, let the Light Cannon loose.
...
A man who appeared to be in his forties was pacing around the room. His movements were slow. Each step he took had a separate weight to it. In his hand was a cigar, which he sometimes took puffs from. Today was the last day before the bidding ended, and being a man with high vigilance, he didn't sleep. He was on his feet, waiting for something to go awry.
Hearing tinkering coming outside his door, he turned his attention to it. Flames enveloped his entire right arm, just in case. He knew that it was most likely his butler. However, he couldn't have been more wrong.
All of a sudden, the entire wall exploded, and a bright light followed the explosion, BOOM. The last thing he saw before his quick death was pure white which would soon transition into eternal darkness, blinded by the light.
Hearing the loud explosion, all the men positioned to guard the mansion rushed towards the upstairs. All they saw was a charred corpse melted into the floor and a huge hole on the roof.
...
Isaiah looked at the melted corpse in front of him. At the last moment before the cannon went off, he had managed to confirm his identity. The assassination was successful.
Hearing the footsteps coming outside the mansion, his eyes quickly looked around the room. He used his mana to grab a few items he deemed valuable and escaped from the roof.
His escape was smoother than his entrance, as all the guards positioned to monitor the garden had rushed inside, letting him walk outside in the garden with his hands in his pockets.
He ran for a few minutes until he was certain he was in the clear. It was not like they could catch up in the first place. His movement technique coupled with his invisibility technique created an immaculate arsenal for assassination.
The items he had stolen were long since stored within a bag. He decided to look through these before moving on to his second assassination of the night. From all the sources and all the information he had obtained, he knew that the second assassination would be a lot harder.
His mana reserves were doing alright, quite a bit above half full. The real reason for the difficulty regarding the second assassination was that, according to the rumors, the Star Family had hired a Rank 2 Fire mage to guard them for the night!
This meant that unless he was spotless in his planning, he would be turned to ashes and bones within mere seconds. Any Rank 2 mage was leagues stronger than he was right now.
He had originally planned to look for a possible vault within the House Family's mansion. However, he didn't expect his Sound Isolation Formation to fail, alerting the guards to the thunderous boom of the Light Cannon.
He climbed onto a rooftop to not stay on the street and opened the bag to look at the valuables he had stolen.
