Chapter 52 - Noble's Auction, Richard Incendio
Nearly a month had passed. Isaiah was in front of his mirror as he adjusted the wrists of his full black suit that was fitted for his body. The only color present on him came from his tie and tall jacket he wore, both being white with golden accents.
He turned his gaze as it fell upon the stunning lady next to him. Lily wore a dark purple dress that made the color of her eyes pop. The dress showed a conservative amount of cleavage coupled with new branded glasses Isaiah gifted her, which were specially made to not obscure his view of her beautiful gem-like light purple eyes. She was looking drop-dead gorgeous.
Looking at her nervous exterior made a smile blossom on Isaiah's face. He could guess each exact thought that was passing inside her mouth, "What if I offend someone or cause trouble?" Nobles were often painted as wild animals who hid behind their mask of class, resulting in such misconception on her part.
Isaiah's finger poked at her cheek, which managed to get her out of her anxious state briefly. Isaiah got behind her and, without even asking what was going on in her mind or what her worries were, told her as his hands massaged her stiff shoulders, "You are my secretary. If anyone offends you or acts improperly, that's an offense written directly under my name." His face was close to her ear, as his breath tickled her soul with each spoken word, causing warmth to spread within her.
He guided her body from her shoulder to turn her to face him. "You understand, right?" Lily simply nodded, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the attention she was receiving, which didn't escape Isaiah's aged eyes, causing a chuckle to escape from his mouth.
He carried no GC on him, due to the nature of the people attending the auction. The organizers had trust in the words of the attendants.
During this past month, he had already reached the limits of Rank 1 Initial and postponed his breakthrough for after the auction, just in case.
He had also increased his revenue by upping his total number of mana cell towers to 78, which let him access a whole new set of customers, resulting in an increase in earnings. He had sold to three more separate households, resulting in him having millions to spend during his auctions, even though he had already given 200k GC to Terry for the invite.
As for getting property within Chasm Street, which was occupied by businesses and the Nobel District, while there were a few meetings held to discuss it, neither of them had reached a conclusion. It was already hard to get property from there, let alone get one to build infrastructure.

"Let's go," Isaiah signaled at Lily. They made their way through the casino. As they arrived at the vehicle, Isaiah opened the door. "Get in." Lily nodded kindly as she got inside. He drove at high speeds. It was normally an hour-long drive with a 1st gen vehicle, which he shortened to 25 minutes with his 3rd gen vehicle. Also, the complete lack of speed limits helped.
Lily, having never been in a mana vehicle before, let alone a 3rd gen, held onto Isaiah's arm the entire ride, which Isaiah found quite endearing as it made him chuckle.
Isaiah slowed down as a huge building appeared on the horizon. It, unlike other buildings within the empire, actually housed a parking lot.
As Isaiah pulled into the parking lot filled with 3rd generation vehicles with custom mods, there were even some vehicles and weird machines he didn't recognize.
He lifted his gaze toward the stadium-sized building. He opened Lily's door. "It doesn't kill to be a gentleman." Lily once again shined an appreciative smile with her pearly white teeth.
She was feeling overwhelmed, but the presence of her boss calmed her nerves a bit. She followed right behind Isaiah's every step, making sure to stick close to him.
As they made their way to the entrance, a Peak Rank 1 guard was stationed. He, having been trained in this, recognized Isaiah despite his little notoriety within the noble circles. He asked with a professional smile, "Welcome to our establishment, Sir Isaiah. Could I please see your ticket?"
Isaiah took out a ticket from his vest and showed it to the guard, who only looked at it briefly and very professionally gestured inside, "Your room number is 476. Please enjoy yourself."
Isaiah entered the building after giving a slight nod. The moment he stepped inside, the temperature changed to lukewarm to slightly cold. This entire building was cooled down with formations.
Lily spoke with a chuckle, "Truly high luxury." Her gaze was on Isaiah. When he first employed her, she never imagined this would be where she would be within just a few months. Just as he was about to speak, "Sir, Isa-", she suddenly felt weak in her knees as her body leaned up against Isaiah.
While Isaiah held her up due to his sheer mental fortitude, it was troubling to him as well. A heavy Rank 2 Initial aura was directed right at them!
He lifted his gaze to meet with Richard Incendio, who was the main competitor for the race to dukedom against his little brother, Terry Incendio. Clearly targeting them due to Isaiah's business partnership with Terry.
Richard was standing right in the middle of the huge lobby, surrounded by a crowd, but with his head still visible and focused on the newcomers. He was illuminated by the warm light coming from the ceiling, carrying the features associated with the Incendio Family.
As he held Lily up with his full effort, not letting her fall to the ground, his gaze was locked at Richard, who was looking at them. If looks could kill, Richard would perish on the spot. Isaiah's gaze wasn't heavy nor was it intense, but it was serene yet deadly, like a lullaby before death.
