Advanced Formations

Advanced Formations

Daniel looked through the documents that were prepared, and then he nodded, "Hmm, since you decided to forgo huge sums for it, we can give you advanced formation information. However, the specific formations that the government created cannot be given away, so you will only receive the building blocks, the bare basics." He looked at Isaiah to check his reaction.

Isaiah's gaze was calm. He asked in return, "It does still include the information about how mana gems can be used as the power source for formations, right?"

Daniel nodded, "Indeed, that's considered non-specific information and will be included."

Isaiah's calm expression was replaced with a smile. He got up from his seat, then extended his hand, "If that was everything, we can go through with it." Daniel also stood up and shook his hand, "Well then, congratulations, gentlemen. I hope to cooperate with you on more projects in the future." He then also shook Louie's hand.

Daniel then shouted outside the door once more, "Jake, come here for a second." A man then walked in and got next to Daniel, who whispered to his ear something which prompted Jake to walk out of the room right after.

Daniel turned to Isaiah and Louie with a smile, "It will be here in a moment." Hearing this, Louie took out a stack of papers that Isaiah had prepared regarding the "Mana Boost Method".

Soon, Jake came back holding two suitcases and put them on the table, then excused himself. Daniel pushed the suitcases towards them. Louie also passed the suitcase containing the formation information to him.

After Daniel received the suitcase, he opened it by enveloping it with his mana. The papers floated in the air as he examined them. Seeing this, Isaiah thought, "He must be a Rank 1 Peak, as expected of a higher-up in the government."

Seeing Daniel examine the files while he floated them with mana, a smile formed on Louie's mouth, and he opened his suitcase with a flick of his wrist, mana enveloped it cracking it open. There was only money in his suitcase. Money floated into the air as Louie started counting it.

Seeing both Rank 1 Peaks' show off their mana so casually made Isaiah wish he could do this too. Trusting his superb mana control, he coated the lock on the suitcase with his mana. However, the mana movement required to open it was too awkward, and he couldn't open it. It only kept click-clacking. The noise caught the interest of both men as they peeked towards Isaiah trying to open the suitcase.

Just as Daniel was about to comment on Isaiah's attempts, CRACK! The entire lock was broken. Isaiah had activated a formation exactly on the lock with its only purpose being to energize the mana to cause a micro-explosion the size of the lock. As he looked through the files, he coughed awkwardly.

This display of talent, however, caught Daniel's eyes. "Would you consider working for us to develop formations, Mr. Isaiah?" Isaiah looked up to look at the man and simply shook his head, "Unfortunately not, I prefer working independently." Hearing this, Daniel simply nodded and didn't say much more.

The door opened, and Haley brought their teas and placed them in front of them. Accompanied by the tea, the three men spent half an hour looking through the documents. Isaiah was satisfied with the information. "If everything is all right, we should get going." Daniel nodded, "There is no problem with the formation. It's quite an intense but also revolutionary formation."

The main reason the government wanted this formation was that with the rise of a second Rank 3 in the Amethyst Empire, the Silver Empire had been busy expanding its military, and the "Mana Boost Formation" would come in handy when increasing the number of Rank 1s in the army. While Rank 1s weren't a huge part of an army's main combat force, as a single Rank 2 could take on dozens of Rank 1s, having more Rank 1s trained and enrolled increased the possibility of a Rank 2 popping out among them.

This was the main reason the government was willing to share highly confidential information like advanced formations with Isaiah.

Daniel then saw the two men off. Before they exited the door of his office, he told Isaiah, "The government is always interested in purchasing more formation blueprints, Mr. Isaiah." Hearing this, Isaiah smiled back, "I will keep that in mind, Mr. Daniel."

After that exchange, they were received by Haley, and she escorted them out. "I hope you gentlemen have a great day." With that, she went back into the pure white building.

Once they were outside, Louie laughed loudly while looking at Isaiah, then raised the suitcase, "Nothing like freshly earned money." Isaiah smiled, seeing this, and nodded.

"This calls for a celebration. How about you come for dinner tonight?" Louie said, then added, "Also, your aunt has been wanting to see you anyway." Isaiah thought for a moment but then shook his head, "I have another business I must attend to for the night, but tomorrow night I will be free. I also have to talk to you about some other business I'm thinking about either way."

"What is it?" Louie inquired curiously. Isaiah explained briefly, "I plan to buy property from Second Emperor Square. I will need you to investigate the property for me." Hearing this made Louie kind of surprised. "Sure, I can handle that by tomorrow night, but I didn't think you would buy such a hard property this early." Opening and operating any kind of business in the largest entertainment district of the empire was already hard enough, let alone the very heart of it.

Isaiah laughed, hearing this. "I have not just a money-making opportunity but a money-printing one." Hearing this made Louie raise his brows. He had been in business for such a long time, and he couldn't think of anything that would print that much money there. Most businesses there were not only seasonal but were also high-risk, high-reward. That was one of the reasons for a sale to be happening right at the heart of the district. It was a highly competitive and potentially dangerous market since it focused on night entertainment. Drug dealers, loan sharks, and many more criminal organizations lurked in its shadows.
