THUF, THUF, air rippled as Isaiah jabbed at the man in front of him, the office was a mess as he fired a barrage of punches, however all his punches were swiftly dodged by his opponent who moved like a ghost, his footwork immaculate as he turned the office into a dancefloor, shifting around and raining punches back at Isaiah.
It was a spectacle to watch the spar of these two excellent fighters, SWOO, the air rippled as he Isaiah dodged as he lowered his body, with a sudden upwards movement from up coupled with a uppercut punch which carried his body's momentum the man in front of him was knocked out cold.
Isaiah looked at the man laying on the ground with a smile on his face, the man responded with the same smile, eyes, face, the man was just a light clone of Isaiah which soon disappeared into an expense of light particles.
This was an intense training that not only challenged his body but also challenged his mana control to be able to keep the mana clones from disappearing as he stormed punches upon it.
HUFF, he released a large breath out as his vortex technique was taking a toll on him during this intense training, after weeks of modifying it constantly it was better and more efficient than ever but more importantly he made a lesser version which could be used passively while he went on with his daily activities. He would use the original version when he had time to focus on the technique.
These two techniques didn’t clash due to them fundamentally being the exact same technique just with lesser versions having been modified to require lesser attention and focus. It still wasn't fully hands off as Isaiah had to split a slight bit of his attention to it.
He riled up the mana within him, as his mana flow sped up he could feel that he was halfway to Rank 1 Middle, which he found to be a really slow progression. In his original plans he would already be at Rank 1 Middle a few days ago but a lot of business opportunities had arrived his way giving him less time to properly refine his mana.
As he was letting his body cool down, his door was knocked as Lily let Ruby inside, which immediately made a smile creep up on his face, sending shivers to Ruby’s very soul.
“Congratulations, you are on time, it's been exactly two days since we last met.”, his smile didn’t waver, his intense gaze was focused directly on her ruby-like eyes.
“I wouldn’t dare make you wait, Sir.”, she was wearing an black button up with a pencil skirt coupled with a red floral head accessory to hold her bun in place, making her look absolutely stunning overall.
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
Isaiah nodded seeing her outfit, “Good you took my advice and got yourself some proper clothes.”, he looked her up and down, while tempted to try something he decided against it for now to not scare the deer.
“Well, Ruby, could I take a look at those documents?” he asked nicely, a evident change in his tone which rubbed Ruby who was already on edge the wrong way but she compiled and passed him the documents regarding the information she had of the gangs left within the district.
Isaiah took the documents with a slight chuckle, her reservations made her seem really cute to him, his gaze fell upon the documents as he outlined a few parts of the document and with a slide of his finger put it in front of Ruby.
“Well then Ruby, I’m expecting to see these gangs under my control by the end of this month.” Ruby’s eyes widened, “B-but Sir, tha-”, Isaiah didn’t let her speak further, and squashed her with a finger over his mouth signifying her to not make excuses.
He, as if to pour water to her worries, took out a formation card and passed it to her, “I’m sure you have heard of my new invention by now”, Ruby nodded frantically, Isaiah chuckled, “Well then you should know why I’m giving you that right?”, his eyes locked on to her, “You are now one of my people, all you need is to press that button and I will show them what it means to resist someone following my words.”
Both his gaze, words, and aura surrounding him gave chills to Ruby, it was unlike his usual nonchalant demeanor, but there crept a warmth within her core which she was unfamiliar with till now. Having had no one to trust, no tree to lean on till now.
“I’m hopeful you will complete this mission with flying colors”, his smile came back as he further encouraged Ruby, who nodded vigorously with renewed vigor. She knew that if Isaiah wanted he could ravage the entire District to the ground in a few days' work but she guessed he had given her this mission not only to test where her loyalties lied but also he was simply just a busy man.
With a clap of his hand Isaiah recollected Ruby’s thought and got her attention back on him, “Well then that's all for today, If you need anything don’t be shy to tell me and I will handle it somehow.”, he pardoned her with those words.
“Thank you for your time, Sir.”, she bowed her head slightly and exited his office.
Isaiah gaze lingered on where she took while she was here, a smile blooming on his face as he began to spin in his chair, “Seems like she is coming my way slowly but surely.”
Isaiah having led an entire galactic federation could tell with precision at the core of each person. Ruby, while adorning a hardened exterior, was simply looking for a place to call home, someone to be able to rely on when she needed.
He would take full advantage of that fact, the reason he valued Ruby so much was for this exact reason. He needed someone to manage Second Emperor District when he was busy, and Ruby was the perfect candidate for that.
She not only knew the entire district like the back of her palm, had a wide connection, but most importantly even with all that she still wasn't fully filled.
