Suna gestured as two other beautifully dressed women came, holding a huge egg, the size of a chair, together. They arrived at the middle of the stage just behind Suna. This egg was clearly the same egg Terry was after, with its scaly red surface with black accents.
Suna's voice reverberated across the place, "This egg right here belongs to the extremely rare Black-striped Wyvern. It has the potential to be a High Rank 2 Wyvern in the future." Hearing her words, Terry's gaze landed on Isaiah awkwardly.
The information he received only mentioned it belonging to a wyvern, not which species of wyvern it was. Since it was revealed it was the egg of a Black-striped Wyvern, its price would be above 200k, which he asked Isaiah for.
Isaiah looked at him and shook his head, speaking, "100k more and that's it, also it's a loan." Terry nodded, now having over 500k which 300k of it he had gotten from Isaiah, he was confident in getting the egg successfully.
The reason a potential High Rank 2 egg was priced at only 500k was simple: it was due to the sheer effort and resources it would consume. Raising any mage to High Rank 2 was pricey, let alone a beast. There was also a huge possibility that it could kill itself, as newborn beasts were notorious for accidentally killing themselves due to their strong bloodline abilities.
Suna revealed the starting price, "The bid is going to start at 100k with each bid being a 20k increase. Gentlemen, you can place your bids." The moment he said that, Isaiah shouted gently, enough for the entire place to hear him, "300k." They had decided before that Isaiah would lead the bids due to his knowledge in business.
Hearing the source of the voice, Richard bid as well, "350k". He had a smile on his face while doing so. He wasn't remotely interested in neither raising nor owning a wyvern; he had just bet because he heard Isaiah's voice.
Isaiah chuckled audibly to all, "600k". The price increase had spiked, giving no one else the chance to bet. Richard contemplated deeply about increasing the price further, but 600k was just the sweet spot. It was overpriced, sure, but only enough to still be acceptable. If he decided to increase it to 620k, he would end up with an egg that was useless to him and a hole in his pockets.
Suna was elegant in her presentation. Rather than narrating every single point, she let the audience do the thinking. She didn't even countdown for the final price. "The egg goes to Mr. Isaiah. Congratulations," a applause sounded within the auction house after the successful purchase.
All the participant identities were open, as it was a high-profile event in the first place. Everyone knew each other, as all those who attended were nobles, their wealth was already immense. Everyone here was already wealthy beyond reason, knowing a single rare item now belonged to them wouldn't change their likelihood of getting robbed.

Knock, knock. The item was quickly brought to their room. Lily, as Isaiah's secretary, received the egg. As she was about to hand it to Isaiah, he pointed towards Terry, resulting in Lily promptly passing the egg to Terry. "You now owe me 200k in total," since the original price was 500k and he paid 600k, Terry owed him 100k more.
Terry didn't protest, knowing he was done a big favor, and instead shifted his focus back to the stage.
After a few items that didn't manage to catch either of their interest, a bag full of green dirt was auctioned. While originally curious as to why a bag of dirt would be auctioned, he knew there must be a reason, and his guess was reinforced by the opening price.
Suna announced the details of the item, "This dirt right here has been soaking the potent poison of a Middle Rank 2 Realm beast." The crowd's response was wild; gasps were heard. "Opening price will be a Million GC."
Before she could even finish her sentence, a voice was heard, "2 Million GC". It came from another VIP room, clearly belonging to a Rank 2.
Another voice was heard, increasing the bid, "2.8 Million GC". This was all for a bag of dirt. While Isaiah was initially confused, he quickly pieced it together.
The Silvershine Empire was an earth mage majority empire, hence resulting in earth items being in high demand. Also, this poison-soaked dirt could be used during a spell to dust it, poisoning the opponent with little chance to avoid the attack.
It essentially gave a Rank 2 mage, who only they would have the level of control required to actually be able to gain value from this poisoned dirt, a poison attack which would be a huge addition to their combat arsenal.
The dirt was soon sold at a mouth-widening 5.6M GC price, giving Isaiah further insight about the kind of market the empire had. "Could I do a valuable dirt detection formation?" he caressed his chin. "I wonder," probably not due to him not having an earth affinity.
His thoughts were cut short by the announcement of an item that he was actually willing to burn some money on. Suna announced with her angelic voice, "Our next item comes from an unknown source, but what is known is that it's a large piece of metal with amazing mana conductivity." Isaiah's ears perked when he heard the mana conductivity part.
Mana conductivity was when an item could naturally hold mana for prolonged periods of time, which increased the mana efficiency if you were going to cast a spell with it.
Suna announced the price of the large pure black chunk of metal, "The starting bid will be 400k GC, the minimum increase will be 50k GC." Isaiah didn't hold back and started with a strong, "600k."
It seemed like there was competition as a "700k" was heard from a VIP room, causing Isaiah to further increase the price to, "1M GC". The crossover to millions was significant, as from that point it became the playfield of the big boys.
Luckily for Isaiah, it seemed like there wouldn't be too much more competition as Suna announced, "The metal now belongs to Mr. Isaiah for 1M GC." Amongst all the Rank 1's present, while he wasn't the richest due to some of them having access to their noble families' vaults, he was the one who bid the most during the entire auction.
It would seem like he would bid even more, as the next item managed to completely steal his soul; he had to get this one. Suna announced with her harmonic voice, "This artifact is special. We cannot pinpoint the technology used to create it, but it's a ring created to temper your mana passively." Silence hit the room when these words were heard. "The starting price will be 2M GC, Gentlemen."
