Plans

Seeing the thoughtful expression on his nephew as he looked through the personal information of both Star and House made Louie get a rough grip on his nephew's plans. "I wouldn't recommend trying anything extreme," he said. Isaiah wasn't surprised that his uncle caught his plans since he wasn't hiding his intentions. "Why? Do they have strong backing?"

Louie shook his head, "More than that, they both live in high-security mansions and are involved in shady businesses." He added, "If you leave behind any evidence, you will have the entire district after you, not just them. They don't like new blood there."

Hearing his uncle's warning, Isaiah simply smiled; his confidence was evident. Louie was surprised that his nephew remained unfazed despite his warning. He knew how confident Isaiah was, but he didn't think it would reach this area as well. "Who are you planning to hire to get the job done?" he asked, then added, "I can't be of much help this time as my connections don't reach the underground. I try to do clean business." Hearing this made Isaiah laugh; the second part was a clear jab at him. "Why would I outsource it when I can put my abilities to the test," he thought to himself but decided against oversharing, so instead said, "I happen to know some people. They are trustworthy and will get the job done." Louie simply nodded.

While Louie wondered how his nephew got involved with shady people so fast and already had connections underground, he didn't say anything outwards.

Sensing their conversation had come to a halt, Aten beamed. She didn't like talking about the dark side of business and was waiting for their conversation to end until now. "I heard you managed to get a pretty big deal, Isaiah." Seeing the mood shift in his aunt made Isaiah smile. He replied, "Yeah, it came at the right time." He pushed forth his hand, and a flower made of light formed on it.

The flower soon floated atop his aunt's head, and when it touched her head, it exploded into many light petals in a light show. His action seemingly made his auntie very happy. "Wow! Your mastery over your element has gotten so much better. It's been only a week since you reached Rank 1." Isaiah laughed when he heard this and said, "Guess the Dominus Family will rise on my back," he joked a clear jab at his uncle, who was already a successful businessman.

After that, they talked together for a bit more and had their meals. It was time for Isaiah to leave; the main reason the dinner happened was to talk about the acquisition of the property at Second Emperor Square either way, celebrating their successful deal with the government came second.

He said his goodbyes and hit the road, while they offered to provide a ride for him, he politely refused. He walked beneath the shining moonlight; there were no streetlights, but it wasn't dark in the least. The moon shone bright, enough to illuminate the night sky.

Stolen story; please report.

He moved fast due to the movement technique he had developed. Even though it was still slow on its own, there was no reason not to use it while walking; it would add to his already decent walking speed and shorten the walk home a bit more. He looked like he was walking on ice, each time his feet would touch the ground, he would slide forward a bit.

He was going at his running speed despite simply walking. In between the fingers of his right hand, light shone, going from finger to finger, then stopped at his palm. He looked at the light atop his palm without stopping his movement. He willed, trying to do something. The light simply faded away; he tried again, and the results were still the same.

He was trying to separate the individual colors within the light and get a light with just one solid color. So far, his attempts only ended in the light fading. He wasn't even sure if white light in this universe contained all the colors within it since there was the existence of mana; some things would be different. For example, there were no such things as atoms in this universe. When Isaiah first heard this, it surprised him but also excited him. He quickly wanted to learn about what the fundamental building block of this universe was, but all he could find was that it was mana, without much explanation.

He had guessed that it would be mana, but there being no systematic explanation revealed how little the people of this planet knew of their universe. Obviously, he couldn't speak for the rest of the universe. He knew from his experience from his other universe that there had to be more intelligent life out there, and some might be unbelievably magically advanced. He got excited just thinking about it. Were there Rank 4 aliens out there? Or even Rank 9, why not? He got reminded of the 8 godly figures he saw in the books he read on his very first day in this universe.

What he noticed and took his interest was that while the population believed them to be their gods, there were simply no churches. Once, he first thought that churches were not a concept familiar to the inhabitants of this planet, but as he investigated more, he found out that there were laws that prohibited the existence of said churches.

This perplexed Isaiah as all three emperors were openly religious and promoted these religions. He knew there was more to this than met the eye, but he had no choice but to shelve this matter for later when he had more reach within the government.

He turned his attention back to the light that gently floated atop his palm. He wasn't trying random things; he was doing his attempts systematically and logically. A formation formed within his palm, the only purpose of this formation was to hold the mana that created the light in its place, still having a connection to his own mana. Isaiah pulled on it. Suddenly, he felt the connection break, however, in those few seconds, colors had sprung forth, gushing into the surroundings from the white light.

It didn't last long and dissipated, resulting in the failure of the formation as well, but this put a devious smile on Isaiah's face. While to a simple mage, this might seem like no big deal, Isaiah knew that this formation could be upgraded to be one of the main tools in his arsenal while he fought, giving him a sharp edge against other Rank 1s. It was also timely as he could use it during the assassination of his two competitors.
