Ch 82: Overheard Plotting

Alex wandered through the halls, humming as they mentally filed away plans and possible ideas for the next visit from Thomas. Hearing their name from one of the rooms, Alex glanced and saw it was from Jolana's room, curiously peeking in through a crack in the door.

"Hmm, but the skirt is kinda... Presumptous. This is for Alex, after all."

Dr Elune nodded, "I guess you are right. I'm too used to hanging out with a more... Ecentric crowd? I forget skirts aren't for everyone."

Jolana laughed, and held up a pair of shorts, "How about these? Flashy enough for you?"

"Hah, yeah, those will do just fine. Bigger question... Are they enough for you~?"

She rolled her eyes, grinning, "No comment. I want to have some fun with this, but not get in trouble."

"Speaking of getting in trouble..." The doctor held up something, just out of Alex's view, "What about these for-"

"No."

"Aww, come on."

"That covers... Well, nothing. And will be most embarrasing to walk next to."

"Hey, covers the important part... Assuming Alex takes the female unit. Male unit could just go topless."

"No presuming, remember! And no getting in trouble! Either way, we would get stared at by everyone we pass, even in the more... Interesting streets. Actually, even more in those streets, but for a different reason."

Dr Elune giggled, putting whatever it was away, "Fine. What was the forcast, again?"

"Mild, slightly warm. Fairly bright out. We will be in the mid-lower sections of the spire, so the weather is mostly artificial down there."

"Really want to make a joke there."

"Really? Really now?" Sighing, Jolana picked out a top, "Short sleeves, looks to be about Alex's size. Maybe have something else over the top, hmm..."

"And any other... Garments?"

"... Interesting question. Those body suits of yours are pretty form-fitting internally, so Alex might not have any..."

"Never thought to ask. And, as creepy as I am, I can't exactly be subtle about that kinda question."

Alex fidgeted by the door, immensly curious about the conversation. Butting in might help with some of the... Decisions, but simply listening was strangely entertaining. The entertainment factor won out.

"Wiat- You idiot. You and Laura made those units. Just send me the specs, and I can ordewr something... Tasteful."

"Black frills for you to enjoy later?"

After the sound of no less than 3 pillows being thrown into Dr Elune's face, they called out, "Okay! Moving on! I will send the info when I am in my office. Also helps with the reat of the sizing..."

"... Your face just went strange. I don't like it."

Dr Elune cackled evilly, "Oh, I just had a better idea."

"We are not making a new unit just for a dressup doll. No."

"Close. I was just planning on dicsconnecting a unit when Alex isnt using it, so they can't connect."

"I- See, you are a bad influence. I had to actually think about if that was actually better or worse."

As the two giggled, Alex rolled their eyes, turning to walk away as the doctor cuahgt their breath, "So, anyway... You still haven't told me or Ren the exact route. We do still need to scout the security first, you know. And network coverage."

Pausing, Alex hesitated, curious as Jolana replied, "Honestly? Still working out the small details. I have... A few places I want to show Alex. And a mall to window shop in, possibly pick up a few things."

"Alex can carry quite a bit. Don't go too overboard though."

"Hey, only one way to explore Alex's hobbies~ Either way, it will probably be easier if I simply mark out certain sections, rather than a specfic location by location. We will still need to travel between them, though."

The doctor nodded, and whispered something. Rustling as they sat back, Jolalana hummed, "Interesting... I will keep that in mind. Now... Back to wardrobe choices."

Shaking their head as they resumed walking, Alex found themself wondering more about the upcoming outing, than the next visit from Thomas.
