Dr Elune shambled through the door, sighing as they made straight for their room. Alex smiled as they fell in alongside, "Just think... Only a bit longer, and we can halve your schedule."
"Gee. Woo... I will still have to deal with that lot, though." Groaning as they climbed the steps, the doctor shrugged, "We are quickly running out of requests, though... Our little stunt releasing the plans did the trick. Our first wave of partners are already discussing uses for the OHPS, and it has taken some pressure off..."
Alex smirked, "Just think... When you announce AHOR, you will be stuck with only Ren to help. The rest will just differ back to you."
Rolling their eyes, the doctor shuffled through the door, sitting on the bed with a releived sigh, "Well, they can settle for video conferences... Or, Holo conferences. I guess those will soon be a thing." Chuckling, the doctor looked to Alex, "You all fixed up yet, or are you cheating with the sensors?"
"... Neither. This is the other unit." Smiling softly, Alex glanced at the damaged unit in the pod, "After scanning, the eyes could do with replacing as well... And the facilities here make the procedures difficult. Another setback we did not forsee with AHORs."
Flumping back into the pillows, the doctor hummed quietly as they pried off their shoes, "I guess... How is Hope doing?"
"Much better now. Her hearing is already starting to return. I will say this... She squirms more than expected during treatment."
Grinning as they fight back some more laughter, the doctor nodded, "Well, yeah. You are pushing a small stick covered in cold goop into her ear. I'm amazed you can pull that off at all!"
"... I'm gentle about it." Pouting, Alex turned away with a huff, "... Although, Laura checking my ears was rather unpleasant, and she was gentle too."
"And less goopy."
"... And less goopy, yes." Coughing quietly, Alex continued, "We have also finished cleaning up the data from the moment of firing. Got rid of all that distortion, and made it viewable. You should have a watch at some point."
Nodding feebley with a yawn, the doctor waved at Alex, "Tomorrow. Now is sleep time... I am sure you have more fascinating things than my sleeping face."
"... Don't be so sure." Laughing as Dr Elune groaned, Alex got up, and made for the door, "Sleep well, doctor."
"You too... Crazy robot of mine..."
Dr Elune bent over the monitor, squinting at the image, "Huh. That's... Kinda cool. I guess the heat, followed by the vacuum, was too much for the servos though. Possibly look into ceramics."
Nodding, Laura looked at the image as well. Hope was mid-leap away from the PEWPEW, bullet a spec off in the distance by the shield... And arcing towards it, was a thick plume of raw lightning, tendrils splitting off to lash at the ground and into the air.

Hope grinned, "Says in the specs that it builds up so much, that earlier versions would simple erupt. Usually through the person firing. Glad that didn't happen."
Dr Elune nodded, "On the upside, an eruption would be instantanious.... And you might survive. This thing supposedly eases out the charge, maintaining it for almost a second."
Laura looked up from her desk, eyes gritty as she yawns, "Yeah... In theory, anyway. Fries the air too quick. Rather than channeling a straight path..." Pausing for another yawn, Laura shook of the frown directed at her by Dr Elune, "Instead of a straight path, it starts arcing around the resulting vacuum. It's why... The floor got all messed up..."
Dr Elune pointed a finger at her, "You. Off to bed. I know full well how fascinated you are... But I need you to fix Alex sooner rather than later."
Rolling her eyes weakly, Laura tried to refuse, but mumbled into her arms instead. Alex rolled their eyes, and scooped Laura up, "Come now... Lets get you somewhere comfortable."
As the pair struggled back and forth towards the door, the doctor looked back at the screen, "I have a few ideas on... Improvements. Modifications."
"Passtimes." Hope giggled as she looked at the doctor, "You have been looking for something new since AHOR. And this has sparked your interest."
Glancing up at her, the doctor smiled sheepishly, "Says the person tired of 'Mining'... You sure you should be out of bed?"
Hope sneered, "Positive. The reading material here may be fascinating... But 12 hours a day buried in txt is not my thing. So, why the interest?"
The doctor shrugged, "More interesting possibilities than the shield. Admittedly, I should steer away from weapons... But, I am far too interested in this thing."
Nodding in agreement, Hope smirked, "Hey, you could always be useful and become a rocket scientist. Make travelling the Havens easier."
"Ugh. Hated that subject... I suppose you are right, though." Glancing in the direction of the shuttle, hidden by the corridors of the mansion, Dr Elune sighed, "I could probably find some effective ways of obtaining and losing the speed... It's just keeping the contents safe I am worried about."
"... We do have the shields."
"Nice try. They will help, but not against energy. Radiation. Pure kenetic force rattling your skull." Tapping their fingers on the desk, the doctor thought about it, "Well... The radiation we have gotten good at absorbing. The force could be.... Dampened by the shields... Maybe... I should discuss it with Laura." Eyes lighting up, the doctor looked upwards, "Or, better yet... A nearby physisist."
