Dr Elune walked through the empty waiting room, and down the hall to the head office at the end. Neither of the other surgeons where around, they rarely are. For such a large station, medical attention was usually limited to general checkups... So the general inquiries only opened one week per month, with the doctors on call for the rare emergency.
Knocking lightly, Dr Elune slipped inside with a grin, "Surprised you keep this place so clean. That must be what you spend your time doing, since you rarely leave this place."
"You know Alex takes care of the cleaning... And of any little scrapes anyone has. I spend time reading on new medical proceedures... And in thinking up a few myself."
"Oh, neat. I would recomend asking Alex to help out, the more they learn the better. And..." Hesitating, the doctor narrowed their eyes. "Wait. We are in the middle of nowhere. And imported books aren't exactly the latest medical headlines."
"Oh come on, Sam. Laura found your little radio dish months ago. Thankfully, she doesn't have much use for it... I, on the other hand, do." Grinning smugly, Judith savoured the doctors shocked expression, "Interesting side effect: I could tap your feed at first. Laura politely removed that ability."
Blushing, the doctor huffed as they sat down, "Guess I deserved that. She probably improved my setup too, since my latency actually improved... I had wondered how that happened. Moving on! Any ideas on that request I sent you?"
"A few, actually. Although, they each work on specific compounds, and I do not know exactly what AHOR will be made of... So I didn't look too far."
"Good point. I... Am still tinkering on the enhanced specs, honestly. The prosthetic model will need help from the guys you know anyway... So, uh, guess that is shelved for now."
"Great to see you planning ahead, Sam. Send me tour current specs anyway, and I will see what I can do." Pulling out some forms, Judith slid them over the table, "While you are here... Checkup?"
"Sure, it has been a while. Technically too long, since I was pretending Alex's results were mine..." Picking up a pen, Dr Elune got to scribbling away at the psych test as Judith got the needles for a bllod test, "So. When these guys come around, what will they be expecting?"

"They know we have an AI, they just think it can interperet human speech accurately. Try to set up some 'protocols' for Alex to enact on command, having a hefty stockpile is fine. Just... More complicated interactions will be off limits."
"Hmm... That works. I might even be able to get Alex to run a subsystem to make it more legitimate. Only respond in pre-advised ways."
"That would be great! It will probably get a bit hard, though..."
"True. As long as they do not get access to the operational records, or worse my lab, Alex can have free reign in there."
"That's nice. Now hold still, while I stab you and leech your blood."
"Awww, you remembered my request!" Giggling, the doctor held out an arm as Judith took a small amount of blood, cleanly and painlessly.
Putting the vial in a case for later, Judith took up the pages from the test, "This is more like what I expect from you. Still no changes in those fields... Except your comments on lethargy."
"Ah, yeah... Bit hard to be moping around, with Alex being so energetic. I think their sense of humor beats yours now, by the way."
"Not very hard, I'm sure. Since you seem to be improving lately, I'll forgo the recoomendations this time. Except excersize: Just because we can use hormonal conditioning, doesn't mean we should. And looking at you..." Smirking, Judith turned to file the test result.
"Oh shush. Yes I have gained a little weight recently... But I have an idea for an excersize routine, if you insist. It will have to wait a little while, though... Hehe."
"... I don't want to know. Like I said, I got to see your feed."
"Hey now. I would ask what specifically, but I think we are both better off leaving that a mystery." Getting up with a groan, Dr Elune stretched, "Anything else?"
"Yeah, make sure Akasha locks her files up tight. The cybernetic team will need to acces the database, and I know you store a lot of Alex's data in backups."
"Thanks for the reminder, I should visit her anyway."
"Well, have fun, and I will let you know if anything comes up."
Humming as they left the office, the doctor wandered off to Akasha's little section of the station... Hoping they wouldn't get lost for a few hours like last time.
