Jace is standing at the doorway of the medical building processing what the man in front of him just said.
The man was taller than Jace about 6 foot and had a vest with medals on the shoulder.
Jace, still standing there blinking, finally answers "Sure, where would you like to talk?"
The man smiles and says "Follow me" to which he then starts walking towards the main school. Jace follows this man while keeping an eye on his surroundings and being on edge. After a minute of walking Jace arrives in what looks like the man's office.
The office was small with only a wood desk and a few chairs. There was a window looking over the gate where Jace could see the army switching shifts.
The man sits down and motions for Jace to take a seat . Jace takes the offer and sits down with his backpack in front of him.
As Jace was setting down the backpack Reaper flies to his shoulder and settles going back to sleep.
Jace watches the man's reaction but sees no reaction from him. The man then starts talking introducing himself first "Hello, I am Captain Bob and am in charge of this school. I was informed that your name is Jace. Is this correct?"
Jace nods, responding "Yes, I am Jace." Bob hearing the response starts talking "Now you may be wondering why I brought you hear."
Jace nods prompting Bob to continue "I brought you here to ask a few questions. First of all, how did you find this place?"
Jace responds simply "I saw a news broadcast that had a map before the signal was cut out." Bob nods "Next question, how did you get your wounds? They must have been pretty severe since you needed a doctor's attention."
Jace once again responds simply "Got into a fight with a demon, but managed to get away." Bob looks right at Jace and asks "Where was this demon and how big was it? The more detailed the better."
Jace, seeing the intense look on Bob's face, answers "It had a horn and was a little taller than you. It had what looked like clawed human hands and stood upright. It was black in color and was fast and strong. I met it around a 2 day journey from here."

Jace ends his description satisfied with his little white lie to appear normal. As Jace didn't want to be forced to stay because he was supernatural.
Jace watches as Bob rites down his description and asks "Do you know what direction it was in from here?" Jace shakes his head saying "No, I don't remember."
Bob then asks a question that makes Jace tense. "Do you happen to have any supernatural powers?" Jace stays calm and answers "No, I have no supernatural powers."
Bob then asks, still staring at Jace "Would you like to be part of the army here. We have good pay of a can and a half of food a day." Jace shakes his head "No, I am good. I was going to leave in the morning."
Jace realizes his mistake too late as Bob asks "You're leaving? Wouldn't it be safer to stay here?" Jace responds "Yes, but I have somewhere to get to. I need to meet up with some family in another safe zone."
Jace sees that his lie works as Bob becomes less suspicious. Bob then calls someone in saying "Take Jace here to a spot where he can stay for the night." The man asks "inside or outside, sir?" Bob turns to Jace.
Jace responds to the man saying "I have a tent, outside will be fine." The man nods and waits for Jace to get up before leading him out.
Bob watches Jace leave and calls in another man after they were out of sight. When the man enters he salutes and Bob says "Go get the seer for me."
The man says "Yes, sir." After the man walks out Bob turns to look through the window seeing the sunset.
Jace follows the man through the school to the backyard of the school. Jace sees tents spread out in an orderly fashion like houses in a suburb.
Jace then sees some people getting into their tents as Jace follows the man through the rows to an open spot. The man turns to Jace saying "This is where you will stay."
Jace nods as the man walks away and disappears. Jace then sets up his tent with the little daylight left and gets out food for him and Reaper.
After they finish dinner the sun has fully set and the only light comes from some of the windows in the school. Jace then debates if he wants Reaper to keep guard for him.
But before Jace can think about it any more, Reaper makes a decision and flies up to his watch position on the tent and chirps at Jace. Jace says "Thanks Reaper" and heads into the tent falling asleep instantly.
Back in Bob's office the man returns with a girl around 9 years old. The girl has bright eyes that seem to glow in the dark office.
Bob looks at the girl standing before him and says "I need you to check something for me. At plot 100 there should be a kid with a bird sleeping in a tent.
I want you to see if this kid is supernatural or not." The girl nods and responds "Yes, sir."
Bob getting confirmation from the girl then continues "I will be sending you with a few soldiers. If you see that this kid is supernatural I want you to do this signal."
Bob then with his right hand raised beside his face and held up the number 4. "If this kid is not supernatural do this signal" Bob says as his hand makes a 3 instead of a 4.
The girl nods and once again responds "Yes, sir." Bob, satisfied, says "Go" to which the girl walks out of the office and 2 soldiers follow behind.
