The Messenger immediately enters the tent and takes a seat on one of the Chiefs chairs. The Messenger then waits for the Chief to sit behind his desk before starting. "Have you encountered anything that is able to take down a one horn in a single attack?"

The Chief sits and thinks for a minute before responding "I might have met something like what you talk about." The Messenger immediately asks "Maybe? What do you mean maybe? It should be a yes or no."

The Chief starts to defend himself "What I mean is that I have never seen anything do what you have described, kill a one horn in a single attack. However, this base has been attacked by something over the past few night cycles. I believe that what is attacking this base, could be the thing you speak of."

The Messenger nods before saying "Is it possible to see the aftermath of these attacks?" The Chief nods and the two demons walk out of the tent. The Chief then leads the Messenger to segment A of the wall that was burned down. While the Messenger is inspecting the wall the Chief calls over his aid.

"Can you get the objects that the attacker used?" The aid nods and responds "Yes, Chief" before running off. The Chief then walks back to where the Messenger was taking a look at the damage. The messenger then asks a question that surprises the Chief as he thought it would be about the attacker.

"I need to report this base's progress to the home base, how long will it take you to fix this wall?" The Chief responds with a little pride "It will be done by night fall." The Messenger nods and turns to the Chief saying "This looks similar to what the attacker used at the outpost as it was all burned to the ground. I would have the base be on high alert."

The Chief responds with "It has already been put on high alert" as the aid arrives with the objects. The Messenger inspects them with confusion. "What are these supposed to be?" The Chief says while pointing "These were found in the walls ashes when it was set aflame and these were stuck in demons flesh cutting and injuring them."

As the Messenger picks one up to inspect it in the sun, the aid comes running. "Chief! They need you in the medical tent immediately! Something is happening to the demons that were attacked!" The Chief and Messenger immediately start running to the medical tent to see what was happening. When they arrive they hear screaming.

All of the medical professionals are running around trying to fix the problem happening to the demons inside but all of their attempts appear to be failing. After a few more minutes pass the screaming stops and so do all of the medical professionals.

The Chief and Messenger are then taken outside by the Medical head. The Chief as soon as they get out "What happened to 'we will be able to treat them without difficulty'?"

The Medical head sighed "It appeared that it would be fine and they would recover, until just now." After hearing this the Messenger asked "What happened to them to have them die?"

The Medical head says "It appeared that the disease or infection made their mana go out of control and mutate. This first started with the mana making their bones break. So we all thought that we can just keep the broken bones from damaging vital areas until the disease or infection is beaten and the mana returns to normal.

But today the mana suddenly started to attack the vital organs. As this was so sudden we were unable to stop the damage which led to the demon's death, Chief and Messenger." After the Messenger hears this he immediately says "I need to go check something at the outpost, I will be back soon."

The Messenger then runs off to his transportation machine. This leaves the Chief and Medical head standing where they were. The two of them then snap out of there stupor and the Chief starts giving orders. "Take care of the men how you need to continue operations, but don't do anything with them until after the Messenger leaves. Also, I would like a report of the early symptoms so I can make an announcement to the camp."

The Medical head responds "Yes, Chief" as the Chief walks away. Then the Chief turns around quickly surprising the Medical head. "Be ready to come to the command tent when the Messenger comes back. I have a feeling he will have questions for you."

This gets the same response from the Medical head before they both head to continue their work.

Around the same time all this happens at the demon base Jace gets a notification. "Ding, killed three, one horned demon xp gained 600. Due to the title effect xp increased to 720." Jace nods 'Well it looks like Splitter V3 is pretty potent. It hasn't been that long since I infected those demons'.

At this time Jace then hears a chirp from Reaper that shakes him out of his thoughts. Jace is currently in a spot he finds himself very often, a tree and on the ground is once again a pile of food.

Jace then looks in the direction that Reaper was pointing to with his head and saw what they were looking for, a pack of demon diseased wolves.

'I wonder if we will hunt them to extinction at this point?'. Jace shakes the thought out of his head and inspects the pack below them. Jace sees that they are a pack of 4 and that one looks very injured.

Jace, seeing the wolf, points to it and says to Reaper "That's the one. All you need to do is kill it in one shot using Slash. I will back you up if anything goes wrong. Got it?" Reaper Chirps and flies up getting ready to go in for the kill. Jace then watches as Reaper dives and arrives at the targeted wolf.
