Jace wakes up to the sound of silence. 'That is good no more rain which means it is time to check on the demon base'. Jace gets ready and eats breakfast before heading out. Jace is walking through the woods while thinking of what he wants to do after he inspects the demon base.

'I could try my tree branch technique on the actual trees, however the branches are wet so that is probably a bad idea. I know I will try to make the Splitter V2 more potent.' Jace, finishing his thought, arrives near the demon base.

Jace however stops farther from usual as he sees that there are 2 demons patrolling and looking at the woods. Jace, seeing them drops closer to the ground and waits till they walk away continuing their patrol.

Jace then moves closer and gets up the tree. Jace inspecting the base sees a shocking scene in front of him. Jace sees the infected demons walk around like zombies; some have what look like broken bones sticking out. All of the infected look like they are on the brink of life and are about to die within the next 24 hours.

'It looks like I am going to be getting a lot of xp over the night. That means another level up for me and another step towards hatching the egg'. Jace then turns over the non infected demons to see that they appear to be in similar condition.

The demons are all hunched over and in some muddy spots he sees them fall. To which they just lay there for a few seconds before getting up. Jace does see however that the demons have made a lot of progress with the fence around the base.

Jace then looks for the patrol to see how much time he has on the tree. Jace sees the patrol on the completely other side of the base moving very slowly. Jace then estimates that he has around 20 minutes or more.

Jace sitting there gets an idea for what he can do to stall till he gets even more till he can take the whole base out. 'I can't light everything on fire because of the storm last night. I can however try to infect the non-infected with Splitter V2. In their condition right now they would be more susceptible as well as they would die much easier to it'.

Jace grabs out his throwing knives and gets to work on getting the Disease Blades on them. Jace finishes getting 2 knives done in around 5 minutes and prepares his shot. Jace watches as 2 demons go to get a log and sees his opportunity.

Jace waits till they stand still to lift the log and sends the knives flying. As the knives are heading to the demons Jace sees that one of the demons unexpectedly moves. This causes Jace to almost miss with his knife, but he redirects it with the mana tether.

Jace sees that the knives connect with his target and climbs down the tree escaping into the woods with no one on his tail. But Jace once again goes through the creek and tries to hide his trail as much as possible.

At the demon base after the two demons get hit, the Leader runs out of his tent. He sees the 2 of them talking to the aid and sees the weapon like objects from the last time in them. As the Leader walks to them he asks "What happened?"

The aid responds "Same thing as last time Leader these 2 were attacked by something in the woods." The Leader sees that the 2 looked fine "Has the attacker been caught? Are there more? Where was the patrol?" The aid responds to the list of questions "The patrol saw nothing and were on the other side of the base. There appears to be no more. The attacker also got away, Leader."

"I see" the Leader replies to the aid "Add more people to patrol and punish the 2 that failed." The Leader then turns to the 2 demons "You go get bandaged and immediately get back to work. A little cut won't hurt you."

The Leader then turns around when one of the demons asks "Leader what if the object is infected and we get what the others get." The Leader stops "You guys could also get the knife checked for infection. However I think that what happened last time was that the 2 just didn't take care of the cut properly."

The Leader then starts walking and enters the tent. After the exchange the demons get their wounds bandaged and the knives are checked for infection. The results for the knives came up negative as the disease had come off and entered the demons.

This leads the demons to decline to get checked for infection. As they both agreed with the Leader and thought that the others were dumb and that they could take care of a cut. This was a bad idea however as they both in reality had been infected and were carrying out Jace's plan.

When Jace arrives back at the base he starts to think again. 'I wanted to make my Splitter V2 more powerful, however it is mid day and I have a lot of time left. I could practice branch jumping on the ground, but that takes up a good chunk of mana'.

After some more deliberation Jace decides that he can practice his branch jumping for a little while. Then after that he would practice just throwing his throwing knives normally. 'The mana tethers are very helpful, but I still need the force when throwing to get the knives anywhere'.

Jace, satisfied with his plan for his day, gets training. At sundown he comes to the middle of his safe house and sits. Jace, then familiar with the disease creation process, begins to create the disease core immediately. Jace completes this with ease and feels himself be pulled into the black room.
